Priestley House is a distinguished nineteenth century town house on the handsome Georgian thoroughfare of Bootham close to York City Walls, Minster and Railway Station. The location is second to none being a few minutes' stroll from York city centre's amenities, museums, galleries and recreational spaces including the riverside and botanical gardens.

A smart entrance gives private access to the maisonette on the upper first and second floors from which cityscape views can be enjoyed towards Bootham Bar and the Minster's central tower, the highest point in York. Newly refurbished throughout in October 2021 its interiors are luxuriously appointed, stylish and very much on trend, blending period and contemporary pieces. Built into the precinct walls of an old Benedictine Abbey, its private balcony provides guests with unbroken south facing views across York Art Gallery, and ‘Edible Wood' in the Museum Gardens.

Comfortably designed for up to six guests the maisonette provides generous living space with a dining table that seats six as well as a breakfast bar for two in the contemporary, fitted kitted. The bedrooms have king or double beds with sumptuous mattresses, all of which are UK manufactured, and the principal bedroom is generously sized with a period features and en suite shower room. There is both a bath tub and shower in the family bathroom.

Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here recently. We were two people, meant to be 3, but one of our party wasn't able to make it. So between 2 of us we had plenty of space and it would have been just fine with 3 people as well. All rooms in the apartment were comfortable, beds very comfortable. Slept great! The location was fab - York is very walkable and the apartment is very close to the main part of the city so we were able to get back easily wherever we went. I highly recommend and I would book again for a party of up to 4 adults. 6 adults might feel like too much of a squeeze as two of the bedrooms were small, and although there's two spacious bathrooms one is attached to the master bedroom.

Lovely, everything we needed

We loved it. Parking 2 mins away opposite the flat. Walking distance from the town centre. The flat was really comfortable with all possible amenities. It was easy to access. Excellent stay ☺️

The location is excellent. Just outside the city walls and only 5 minutes walk to the Minster and 10 minutes to the Christams Market in Parliament St. There are several restaurants and welcoming pubs in the vicinity. Views from the property's small outside area across the battlements and the Museum Gardens make the property quite memorable. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are modern and of a good standard. Absolutely, nothing to complain about at all.

Love love love!!

We love staying in York during Ghost Week. After staying at the same location for the last few years we decided to look for a 3 bedroom place this year. The apartment is 5-10 minutes walk away from the Minster and most of the other York attractions in the town centre. Communication with the owners in advance of our trip was great. We found a parking place in the council car park (which was included with the apartment) just across the main road from the apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living/dining room was cosy with lots of seating. The main bathroom was a good size, the beds were comfy and the largest bedroom had a great en-suite. We would definitely stay again.

Just a 2-minute walk from the cathedral, the house is nestled right against the York city walls. The cozy balcony even features a part of the ancient wall, offering a lovely view of the Museum Gardens. With its comfortable sofa and mattress, it's the perfect choice for your York getaway.

Great hosts, great home, great find!

Happy to have found this place, it was a seamless experience from start to finish. Hosts were great and very responsive. House was placed just a stone throw from the city walls so was very close to everything. Parking was provided in the car park opposite. Great stay here.

Super location

Easy access to York Minster and nearby pubs. Car parking easy when you find it - Radio York offices off Bootham Road would of located it easier. Lots of stairs in accommodation, very tight with anyone with mobility issues.
