A charming former fisherman's residence, in the very heart of the old town of Whitby, only a couple of minutes stroll from the harbour. Sleeps up to 6 people. Comfortable memory foam mattresses. In an old cul de sac this Whitby yard faces the old outhouses, a rare quiet oasis. Free parking permit for Westcliff car park. Pet-friendly. Fast-speed wireless broadband. Televisions each bedroom with Freeview with DVD player. There is bedding provided. The best thing about this cottage is a set right in one of the most beautiful and historic old yards very close to the harbour which is a cul-de-sac and it is extremely quiet in and on the busiest of Whitby days. All you can hear is the seagulls
As described. Clear instructions on how to find it. Check in process and parking instructions very clear and accurate. If you had limited mobililty would be difficult steps and unless lucky no guarantee of nearby parking. We
Property is centrally located and exactly as described. Parking permit is great also.
We did however raise some concerns with the cleanliness as found worn underwear in one of the rooms and milk in one of the bowls!
There was also a funny damp smell we could not put a finger on. Might be because an old property and terrible weather whilst we were there but made it difficult to relax on one of the sofa's.
Super communication with the landlord.
The location was great, but had to park several blocks away. The description says washer and dryer. There was a washer, but no dryer. The owner told me the day before we were to be there that they do not supply shower towels. We traveled from the USA and needless to say we did not bring towels. When I asked for them, he said he would supply them and when we arrived they were not there. We had to use 3 tiny dish towels that we found to dry off. There were cleaning supplies all around, a lot of clutter in the wash closet and under the stairs that either needs to be cleaned out or locked away. Location was great and we were able to walk to all retaurants, shopping, etc. failrly easily. It was a great little town to explore.
The thing I liked about Endeavour Cottage is it's in a small cul-de-sac yard which is very very picturesque and characterful. Indeed it has won as one of Whitby's best yards and as featured in many books because of its history. Set in an extremely quiet location whilst being right in the very centre of everything and only 2 minutes stroll from the harbour. If you want to experience an old fisherman's cottage with the luxuries of the 21st century I don't think you'll be disappointed.
