This is our third visit to the cottage and like the garden and space. It's also very accessible for Whitby, the Abbey is always worth a visit and the town is a delight to wander through.
Such a tranquil spot on a quiet lane, which was a welcome retreat to return to after the hustle and bustle of Whitby. Lovely comfortable house and gardens, delightful hosts, and alpaca feeding an added bonus! Many thanks Pauline and Bob
The cottage is beautiful. Everything you need for a lovely holiday. Wonderful views. Comfy beds , good kitchen equipment. Welcoming hosts. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks so much Pauline and Bob.
This is the perfect location for peace and quiet. Beautiful property with everything you need for a lovely stay. Sitting in the garden and listening to the birds was magical. Just so peaceful. Even Lollie the cat was super friendly. 🥰🥰
This is a lovely place to stay, a real home from home. Close to Whitby beach and Abbey also a 40 min drive to Scarborough. Clean, tidy and very comfortable. The eggs and milk were a lovely touch. We are definitely going to go again
We had a great short break to visit the area and the goth weekend. The cottage was perfect for our needs and Pauline and Bob were very helpful. The kids loved feeding the alpacas! Easy walk to the park and ride to get a bus into Whitby, and a 5 minute drive to beautiful Sandsend to enjoy the beach. We hope to be back!
Very well equipped cottage in a well positioned location. There were 6 of us staying and had plenty of space for us although we were lucky to have great weather so we could use the garden as well. We had a few wi-fi issues in the evenings but
Lovely and relaxing break away from the stresses if everyday life. Beautiful rural location a short drive from Sandsend and Whitby. Local shops within walking distance. Spacious accomodation with lovely garden and welcoming hosts living next door. Can't wait to go back again in October.
This is our second year staying at Christmas. Itâs great location for Sandsend and Whitby. The house itself is warm well equipped and spacious for the whole family to stay. We love staying here as a family and will be returning again throughout the year.
We retired in 2007 and moved to Whitby from Kent. The cottage included a field so we bought 5 alpacas to eat the grass. Alpacas appear to be addictive creatures and we got carried away and now have 20 alpacas and have had to rent more land down the road. We use the fleece to make yarn both handspun and machine spun which is available for sale. We enjoyed meeting all the guests in Grain Cottage so when it went on sale we decide to buy it and continue to let it as a holiday cottage. After refurbishment we opened for business in July 2016.
