My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Ai Sedili, it is probably the most beautiful villa we have ever stayed in inside and out. The interior is amazing, liberty style, with big bedrooms and everything you could want. The gardens, huge pool and incredible mountain views took our breath away. Barga itself is very picturesque with nice restaurants and only a short walk up the hill. Cantina del vino a 10 minute drive away was brilliant for wine tasting. The icing on the cake though is Eleonora, Daniela and Leonardo who were all incredibly welcoming and kind, leaving bread, cheese, meat, drinks and a cake for when we arrived and then surprising us with another gorgeous cake and sparkling wine to celebrate an 18th birthday - so thoughtful. Grazie mille!
This Villa is like stepping back into another time.. character and tranquility combined with total peace and relaxation. We couldnât have asked for more. It exceeded all expectations topped off with the most beautiful weather! Whatâs not to love?! As soon as we arrived we just took a breath and felt everything decompress⊠I couldnât recommend this high enough. We will definitely be back and plan to return as often as possible đ xx
This was the perfect spot to enjoy the quiet yet within walking distance to many restaurants and the beautiful historic town of Barga. A walk to town in the morning for fresh croissants and cappuccino was a great way to start the day. This property is close to everything so you can tour the other busy areas of Siena, Florence, Lucca and San Gimignano as we did and return to the quiet beauty of the property for a relaxing swim! Thereâs also much to do close by like the Grotta del Vento and San Pellegrino in Alpe to name a few. The owners are absolutely amazing and so generous! When our rental car broke down they came to pick us up as we were stranded. They let us borrow their own personal car to drive into town! To start off our stay they left delicious local food and drinks which was so appreciated and enjoyed by all of us! We loved our stay here!! Thank you again for everything! â„ïž
We had a wonderful one-week vacation at Villa Ai Sedili in the beautiful medieval town of Barga. The property is meticulously kept both inside and out. This property has million-dollar views of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the majestic Apuan Alps. The property boosts manicured gardens, a large private swimming pool, five large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Poolside there is also a bathroom with shower. The Villa is walking distance from cafes, bars, gelateria, shops and restaurants.
Our gracious hosts and property owners, Eleonora, Leonardo, and Daniela Giuliani greeted us when we arrived and provided us a tour of the property showing us all of the amenities. Our hosts were also so kind to leave us a bottle of wine, local Tuscan cheese, salami bread and a wonderful ricotta torte to welcome us.
I give this property a five star rating, we will be returning to Villa Ai Sedili for sure on our next trip back to Italy.
Regards,
Bruno Costa and Family
Zeer ruime en goed uitgeruste vakantiewoning. Zeer behulpzame gastvrouw. We konden bij haar met alle vragen terecht. Werkelijk alles was aanwezig, wasmiddelen, kruiden, brood etc. Proper groot zwembad, over op het domein voldoende ligstoelen. Prachtig zicht over de omgeving. Wel veraf gelegen voor uitstappen (Lucca 35 km), maar dat wisten we.
on arrival Eleonora and Leonardo were there to welcome us. great lovely people who showed us around the house and around it. everything was neatly prepared.
our first impression was right; awesome! what a place! what a location! what amenities! impressive!
and so it remained our whole week! we, our friends and our kids had a great time in this house in this location!
also the call with Leonardo was always friendly and cozy! and Barga is fantastic!
we hope to be welcome again soon in Villa ai Sedili! Thanks for everything!

allen Tipps sehr hilfsbereit. Barga selber ein guter Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr vielfĂ€ltige AusflĂŒge.
We had such a wonderful time at Villa Ai Sedili. It is a beautiful property that is located near the ancient part of Barga and with stunning views. The photoâs certainly donât do justice to the villa as itâs much nicer in real life. The interior of the villa is somewhat dated but you live outside anyway. Stunning pool with fantastic outdoor kitchen (refrigerator, water, charcoal bbq and pizza oven). There is an additional gas bbq located outside the villa near the kitchen. The stone benches provide a nice shaded place to eat or play games/cards as does the terrace at the front of the house. The house has five bedrooms (four have double beds and one has two single beds). The only downside would be the rather busy road (strada provinciale) that the house is located on and the gate indeed is quite narrow (2m wide).
Leonardo, Daniela and Eleonora are the most lovely and helpful people that have nice suggestions for hiking, restaurants, etc. We really enjoyed our stay with you! Thank you and maybe until next time!
We stayed here for a week at the start of August and could not recommend it more - we would love to go back.
The house is huge (bedrooms, living areas, garden and the pool!) and fully equipped with everything needed and much more. Daniela and Eleonora were great hosts and more than happy and available to help with any queries around the house, restaurant recommends etc. We were even greeted with fresh fruit, milk and bread on arrival!
The pool is absolutely amazing and well beyond expectations - the photos did not do it true justice.
The old town of Barga is uphill and probably takes about 10 minutes but this is more than manageable - our children aged 2, 4 and 6 were more than capable of managing it on a daily basis. They are also still taking about our 'massive holiday home' and asking when we can go back!
we have just returned from a fantastic Barga experience. We have been coming for many years and this is the best villa we have stayed in. The kids loved the pool and Leonardo and Daniela were most welcoming and helpful. Many many thanks.

Beautiful traditional house with amazing views.
We loved the character of the house. It was extremely comfortable and cool in the hot weather. Getting in and out of the gate was a bit of a challenge with a seven seater car!
Great outside eating areas. The pool was lovely.
Well organised and helpful.
The property is fabulous and spacious both inside and out; really well kept and welcoming.
We had a wonderful 3 weeks at Ai Sedili with plenty of room to spread out both inside and out. The villa has utterly stunning views all around it and with lots of space to eat outside and a well equipped kitchen we catered at the villa a number of times easily for the eight of us. We had fun trying out the pizza oven up by the pool (also fab by the way) a couple of times too with increasing success. Leonardo and family were really friendly and generous with their time and made us all feel extremely welcome, as was Anne, who took us on a great tour of the area, including a wine and olive oil tasting. We also had a fabulous meal of local cuisine cooked for us at the villa by Linda. The local village, Barga, is pretty and within easy walking distance for all the basics and local restaurants we needed (including some lovely outdoor concerts in the town square). We would highly recommend this villa for a lovely, relaxed holiday with lots of small hilltop towns to visit for a real sense of rural Italy. If you want some city time the beautful city of Lucca is only a 45minute drive away (or an hour on the local bus) and Pistoia or Pisa or Viareggio are just a bit further but worth a trip too.
Fantastic stay in a lovely villa in the special Barga area
Ai Sedili is a great villa with plenty of space for everyone, the swimming pool was a particular highlight with a shallow end for the kids and deep end with diving board for the adults. The hosts looked after us well with plenty of information beforehand and useful hints, tips and a thoughtful welcome basket of food once we arrived. Barga has a good range of places to eat (and to get gelato) and to drive around the local area is superb.
One note of caution for drivers is there are a few hairpin bends in the latter part of the journey towards the villa and the entrance is a little narrow. We walked upto Barga most evenings for dinner, it took about 10 minutes but there is no footpath so just something to keep in mind.
A real treat was going up to the top of the church tower for the ringing of the bells at 10pm - this definitely should not be missed! Ai Sedili was the perfect base for our holiday and helped us get the right mix of relaxing at home and exploring the local area. We would definitely recommend!
Ai Sedili is a lovely period house, clearly a much loved family home, with a lovely pool and stunning mountain views. It is a few minutes walk from Barga, which is a beautiful old village with plenty of good restaurants. Lucca is a short drive away, and Florence close enough for a day trip, and there are lots of places to visit in the mountains of the beautiful Garfagnana. Leonardo and Daniella were very helpful but unobtrusive hosts. We would love to come back for another visit.
We spent a beautiful relaxing week in this villa; just what we needed. If you're after an authentic Tuscan experience with the option of very good local restaurants nearby, a fairly large pool with all round views of the mountains, then I would strongly recommend. We'd certainly go back again. Leonardo, the owner, was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Always there if you have any questions. All in all, a perfect holiday.
The photos don't do this place justice. 4 really great sized double bedrooms. Panormaic views to die for. Fab pool, BBQ area and pizza oven. The fruit garden with amazing pears and plums overlooking the valley below was a treat. The village of Barga is a bit of a hidden gem too. Cobbled streets, piazza's and loads of places to eat out. Great place to stay.
It really is as beautiful as the photos, and more!
The villa is on the edge of Barga, and combines a beautiful wild set of hill country views from all the windows with an easy walk into the town, where there are some excellent restaurants. Anne made our visit very easy, and the owners were very welcoming.
