Easily explore Castiglione di Garfagnana, only a 1-minute drive (or a short walk) from the villa, the village offers:

Shops selling local produce and fresh fruit and vegetables.

A nearby river, great for swimming.

Access via a short, steep road (approx. 30m).

The village is lively throughout the summer with many local food festivals. There is a market every Saturday morning.

The surrounding scenery is among the best in the area, with panoramic views of the Apuan mountains.

The large market town of Castelnuovo is only 10 minutes drive away, here you will find many shops, restaurants, bar/cafes and the nearest train station that links with Lucca (50 minutes). The nearest supermarkets are in Pieve Fosciana which is 3km from Castiglione. Other nearby places of interest are San Pelegrino, Corfino, Silico, Barga, the fortress at Verucole and Piazza al Sercchio.

The area is known for its spectacular walking routes. There are many different options of outdoor activities in the area. There is a lovely waterfall nearby where it is possible to swim.
