The location was tranquil & picturesque surrounded by forest and a beautiful lake view with plenty of wildlife. The gite was small and comfortable with the essential amenities. However, the cleanliness was lacking, especially the bathroom which was very dirty and smelled like stale urine. In the second bedroom there was large patches of mold on the walls. The floors would benefit from a thorough clean as the grout which should be white was black and the floor was covered in hair and crumbs in all rooms. The pool area, although beautiful in design, had similar issues with green stained sides. Verdict: This Gite has great potential with a serene setting that nature lovers would appreciate. Addressing the cleanliness would elevate it to a standout stay.
Property ideal for two people, kitchen and bathroom small but adequate for us. Good size lounge. No storage in the bedroom but we used the big wardrobe in the spare bedroom. No internet all week due to a storm. The pool was warm and very pleasant, you need to ask the concierge to remove the cover. We didnt have to share the pool but it could be a squeeze if there were groups from other properties. the place is very rural and beautiful, the lanes through nearby woodland can be a bit confusing at first to access the property but we soon got used to them, It is isolated and Bourgeuil is 8 miles away to get to the nearest supermarket. Had a couple of lovely restaurant meals there and the Tues market is excellent. Christine the concierge cannot speak english but we managed and she is a nice lady, very hard working. Lovely sitting by the lake listening to the birdsong. Very much enjoyed our stay
Really enjoyed the pool as well as the outside patio area overlooking the lake. Lots of different wildlife.
The living/dining room was very comfortable.
The kitchen was very small but well equipped.
Wunderschöne Lage, die absolut nicht alltÀglich ist. Mitten im Wald an einem See mit einem schönen Pool mit Sicht auf den See. Nette Hausherren, absolut empfehlenswert.
Fairly remote- and with consequent peace and quiet which we loved. Cute cottage, well looked after and well equipped- the wow factor however is really from the location-fabulous views of a lake with cormorants and swans-and wild boar just beyond the fence in the evening-brilliant. Last and by no means least- a well looked after beautiful pool with perhaps the best pool view ever. Thank You Christelle
This cute house was across the driveway from a small chateau and lake. With its thick walls, shutters, and wooden beams, it seemed to be very French to this American couple. The furniture was comfortable. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed. It is six kilometers (four miles) from Bourgueil where we went to dinner. A very peaceful place.
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Your team at Domaine de Vau Rozet
In my real life I'm a London-based accountant (born and bred in Luxembourg), wife to Italien husband and mother to 1 toddler and 1 dog. In my dream life I'd have all the time in the world to follow anything design, fashion, food and music with a passion!:) I'm currently helping my family set up their serviced accommodation and wedding business, which is why my profile is associated with this vacation listing.
My parents were always passionate about France, nature and old buildings. Their background is in furniture trade and they spent years refurbishing antiques.
When they found Domaine de Vau Rozet (main castle from 15th century) to which Le Mini Vau belongs, it was love at first sight. All the buildings of the Domaine were in much need of TLC. My parents spent over 10 years refurbishing the castle and it's surrounding properties to high standard while respecting their original features.
The outcome is truly outstanding and has been well worth their effort and commitment.
The stunning nature and tranquility of the Parc Naturel d'Anjou in which the property is located, is what made us fall for the house. In many places the nature looks untouched and if you're lucky you'll even get to see wild life safely from your fenced garden. The large private lake surrounding the main castle is simply breathtaking.
We have had the best family holidays (and even our wedding!) at Domaine de Vau Rozet, especially when travelling with little ones. Here you can truly connect with your loved ones and nature again, it is just the perfect place to switch off and recharge.
The property is perfectly located for the wine lovers amongst you, only 10 minutes drive from the famous Bourgueil! Restaurants and bars and super markets are close by (10 min) as are bigger towns such as Tours (40min) and Chinon (20min). There are plenty of other things to do in the area, such as visiting castles, antique and farmers markets, the fabulous zoo La FlĂšche (45min), golf (15min) boat tours on the Loire, cycling etc
