Cool and very nice stay in this great house perfectly furnished and well decorated
The house is really great and spacious! Giuseppe and Alessia are super kind and responsive for all our demands. We had a warm welcome from them at our arrival. We spent such great time in the house, in the garden and swimming pool. The house is super close to the lively center with all the facilities.
We wish we had more time in the local area to explore. We did have dinner one night and it was fabulous. We had something planned daily so we were on the move. The villa was extremely comfortable and saved slot of money staying outside of Sorrento city centre even getting daily transportation to all our planned adventures. I would highly recommend this property.
The house is on a hill near a village. You need a car. You can walk to the village downhill there and uphill back. Just a few minutes. The house was lovely and the owner was easy to communicate with and met us on arrival.
The property was superb. The garden brilliant for those quiet afternoons and evenings. 15/20 minutes to Sorrento, 30 minutes to Positano, 60 minutes to Amalfi and 60 minutes to Pompeii. The local town SantâAgata has plenty of food shopping and a range of restaurants from the cheap to the 1/2 star Michelin. Truly enjoyed the place.
The house was stunning ,very tastefully decorated throughout. Bedrooms were spacious, beds comfortable and clean. Bathrooms were for the most part good, a few issues more due to age of property than anything to complain about. One of the bathrooms though for one of the bedrooms was on a different floor...may be an issue for some....not for us. Lots of sitting areas for peace and quiet or for group activities. Our only problem was because we had a large group and entertained other friends who were staying in the area for a couple of nights, the kitchen is quite small and the stove top was finicky....also the oven was complete guesswork....all the numbers and lettering had long disapeared.Pool was as advertised...small...again not an issue for us. Grounds were beautiful, many sitting and lounging areas.
St Agata is a lovely little town with all amenities, shops, restaurants, a mid size supermarket,Mini markets, bakeries, butchers, etc. At the bottom of the hill ( a five minute walk) is the bus stop for Sorrento....a must see. Also buses run to Amalfi and Positano. Tickets can be purchased from tourist info. From Sorrento you can get the train to anywhere else. Pompeii, Naples, etc. We had a fabulous time here...people are very friendly and helpful....the little store at the bottom of the road would close his shop and run us home for a small fee if we overbought wine and beer....a regular occurrence! This home was our base for two weeks and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Great location if you do not mind taking bus and doing a little walking. Easy access to Sorrento. If going to Positano take the ferry from Sorrento; the bus ride is long to Positano and can easily cause motion sickness. The best part of the trip was hiking down to free beach at Fiordo di Crapolla. You must be fit to do it but the rewards at the bottom, chrystal clear water, high cliffs and lots of sea glass and very few people make it worth the trip.
