Fishing pond
The property details made such a big deal about the pond and fishing, and with an included picture showing a cabin right next to the water on this listing, we assumed the pond was just out the door of the cabinâŠwhen in realer had to search the satellite pics and drive around the neighborhood to find it was actually next to another listed rental cabin in the area and had zero access that was evident by any signs or parking area. Completely shot my plans for the weekend. Thanks. Wonât be back
It was an incredible week. The cabin is everything the pictures depicted and more. The only thing misleading, I will not subtract any stars for this, is the stocked fishing pond is a little bit away from the cabin unlike the pictures of the pond showing a cabin right beside it and it is a community fishing pond and not private. The staff was very friendly and super easy to work with. Check in was a breeze. Overall incredible experience and will definitely use them again in the future.
Cabin needs lots of work hot tub cover full of mildew dried condiment sauces on the tablecloth was run off from the fishing pond from someone on a golf cart the rocks in the drive make it impossible for a wheelchair to be used. Fishing pond is not behind the cabin you have to drive to it. Fireside chalets never called me back after I questioned the fishing pond and why I was run off by someone. Horrible experience
Cabin was great, family thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Lovely spot on top of the mountain. Very convenient to grocery store. Favorite thing was the stocked fishing pond. Family caught alot of bluegill and a bass.
The cabinet n is so outdated . There wasnât even a hot pad to remove any item from stove! There was no ice maker or ice tray, only a small, mini cube tray to fill maybe 1 glass? Hot tub is old. Cabinet knobs would catch your fingers and pull off nails so be careful! The stocked pond is not that close and may have 2 small fish to possibly catch. This is not near Douglas lake either. The ladies that oversee the property at Fireside were so nice and helpful!
The cabin was nice but pictures make it look secluded and right at the pond. Pond was not even visible and cabins all around. Pond was scummy. Cabin was semi-clean but food in the sink drain, dirty deck and chairs, top of fridge looks like it might have been cleaned a year ago. Garbage off the deck and grill wasn't cleaned.
Overall cabin was really nice. Check in and check out was super easy! Cute little spot with a porch that feels hidden in the woods. Could use another little sofa in the living room for extra seating. We did find rat feces on the table upstairs and a couple of clothing tags stuck to doorways. Definitely could have used a more thorough cleaning.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Multiple dishes had dried food on them but luckily we ate out for all of the trip except for the first night. I recommend changing check out procedure for dishwasher from eco cycle to ensure dishes are clean or speak to the cleaners about that. We would stay again as it felt secluded but close to attractions. The cabin had a great cozy feel.
We loved the location of the cabin, it was very pretty and had a great porch. The inside was very nice, a bit smaller than we thought but was fine for us and our 2 teenagers. The biggest downside was the beds. The master bedroom mattress was intolerably hard and we had miserable nights because of it, the couch is old and the bed in it was very thin. The hot tub was nice and the jacuzzi tub was great. I would recommend it to a family with small kids rather than a group of adults.
