It was an incredible week. The cabin is everything the pictures depicted and more. The only thing misleading, I will not subtract any stars for this, is the stocked fishing pond is a little bit away from the cabin unlike the pictures of the pond showing a cabin right beside it and it is a community fishing pond and not private. The staff was very friendly and super easy to work with. Check in was a breeze. Overall incredible experience and will definitely use them again in the future.

Fishing pond
The property details made such a big deal about the pond and fishing, and with an included picture showing a cabin right next to the water on this listing, we assumed the pond was just out the door of the cabinâŠwhen in realer had to search the satellite pics and drive around the neighborhood to find it was actually next to another listed rental cabin in the area and had zero access that was evident by any signs or parking area. Completely shot my plans for the weekend. Thanks. Wonât be back
This was our first time in the Gatlinburg area and this cabin was SO nice. We loved every bit of it. No complaints and great location. We would come back to this cabin!
Great place located only a few miles from the main parkway so it was close enough to everything, yet secluded enough to feel like youâre far enough away from everything. Wasnât quite use to the beds but they werenât terrible. Definitely want to go back!
Overall cabin was really nice. Check in and check out was super easy! Cute little spot with a porch that feels hidden in the woods. Could use another little sofa in the living room for extra seating. We did find rat feces on the table upstairs and a couple of clothing tags stuck to doorways. Definitely could have used a more thorough cleaning.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Multiple dishes had dried food on them but luckily we ate out for all of the trip except for the first night. I recommend changing check out procedure for dishwasher from eco cycle to ensure dishes are clean or speak to the cleaners about that. We would stay again as it felt secluded but close to attractions. The cabin had a great cozy feel.
The property was as described. Very clean and cozy! Beautiful view, hot tub was great beds were comfy, it was over all a wonderful stay and experience. The last day we tried to turn on the a/c and dont believe it was working properly however it wasnt to hot so we didnt really need it. Would recommend and would definitely book again!
We loved the location of the cabin, it was very pretty and had a great porch. The inside was very nice, a bit smaller than we thought but was fine for us and our 2 teenagers. The biggest downside was the beds. The master bedroom mattress was intolerably hard and we had miserable nights because of it, the couch is old and the bed in it was very thin. The hot tub was nice and the jacuzzi tub was great. I would recommend it to a family with small kids rather than a group of adults.
Nice cabin to stay at for a quiet vacation! We stayed for 5 days & 4 nights. Check in process was seamless and we were able to enter the property a little early. Good view from the porch & hot tub. The only issues we had were there were no wash cloths, coffee filters, or laundry detergent in the cabin. (We had to go buy ourselves). Besides that, our stay was really nice and would recommend.
The cabin was nice but pictures make it look secluded and right at the pond. Pond was not even visible and cabins all around. Pond was scummy. Cabin was semi-clean but food in the sink drain, dirty deck and chairs, top of fridge looks like it might have been cleaned a year ago. Garbage off the deck and grill wasn't cleaned.
Iâve used VRBO many times and this has probably been our worst experience staying somewhere. Iâm so use to having an easy check in where there is a code on the door and we can just walk in. We had to go to the office, even though my parents were able to check in for us, after traveling with little kids all day just to sign a credit card receipt. The sheets on the sofa bed looked like they hadnât been washed in a long time. Thankfully there was a washer and dryer so we could wash them prior to using them. There was nowhere on the website or in the email that said we needed to provide extra toilet paper, paper towels, or trash bags. There were no kitchen towels. The TV in the main bedroom was practically falling off which was dangerous. Maintenance came for the TV but didnât do anything about it. The toilet upstairs was SLOW to flush. It rained a couple times during our stay and the roof in the kitchen was leaking. Will not stay here again. Giving 2 stars because Iâm sure things couldâve been worse, but we overall had a great vacation besides our cabin situation.
Cabin needs lots of work hot tub cover full of mildew dried condiment sauces on the tablecloth was run off from the fishing pond from someone on a golf cart the rocks in the drive make it impossible for a wheelchair to be used. Fishing pond is not behind the cabin you have to drive to it. Fireside chalets never called me back after I questioned the fishing pond and why I was run off by someone. Horrible experience
Cabin was great, family thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Lovely spot on top of the mountain. Very convenient to grocery store. Favorite thing was the stocked fishing pond. Family caught alot of bluegill and a bass.
The cabinet n is so outdated . There wasnât even a hot pad to remove any item from stove! There was no ice maker or ice tray, only a small, mini cube tray to fill maybe 1 glass? Hot tub is old. Cabinet knobs would catch your fingers and pull off nails so be careful! The stocked pond is not that close and may have 2 small fish to possibly catch. This is not near Douglas lake either. The ladies that oversee the property at Fireside were so nice and helpful!
Husband's birthday getaway and our 5th wedding anniversary
The cabin was great! Very clean, very cozy! Great location! Only like 15 minutes away from everything we wanted to do!! We absolutely loved it! We will definitely be coming back!
The property definitely needs some major TLC and updating. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. There was black hair all over the sheets and some of the dishes were dirty. The hot tub had a huge leak and had to be constantly refilled, and the jets did not work. The office staff was friendly and attempted to help resolve the hot tub issue but we would not recommend this cabin.
My family of five rented the Possum Moon cabin for the week of Christmas. It snowed and the views were absolutely breathtaking! We used the gas fire frequently and played board games in the kitchen.
It mentioned that the house was decorated for Christmas, and I was a little disappointed in the plastic popup tree from a box. If youâre looking for a Griwsold vacation vibe, bring your own tree and decorate and pack up.
Otherwise great accommodations!
The property had a very nice view and close location to the main attractions in Pigeon Forge, but it was not a very comfortable place to stay. The beds were hard and VERY squeaky, and the upstairs bed kept sliding off of the support slats and sloping awkwardly. The blanket for the main bedroom bed looked almost like a full size meant to fit a queen and looked worn and stained in places. There were no sheets or comforters provided for the queen pull-out couch, despite a label for them in the downstairs closet. When we called for them to be brought, we didnât get them until I called back the next day because they wanted to verify we still needed them. So we had to spend extra money to buy a comforter for my daughter the first couple nights. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the property, but the dryer can get overheated and just stopped working one night. Outside, there were old cigarette butts and dried bread pieces left on the patio. The kids loved the hot tub, and it was a nice amenity, but several jets did not work. Overall, it was a good location, with nice extras (laundry and hot tub), and we enjoyed the deck and eating outside, but it could definitely use with several upgrades to make it more comfortable.
Pigeon Forge Cabin- Possum Moon offers Year Round Stock Fishing Pond Access exclusive to the area it is within. The stocked fishing pond is walking distance from the cabin and does not require a fishing license. It is also convenient to Pigeon Forge Attractions, Dining, and Outlet Shopping. This is a great property unlike many, come and enjoy the Smoky Mountains and the Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg Area.
