Perfect Kihei stay

Perfect stay. Great location. Loved the views. The place was a good size and very clean. A block away from the grocery store and other restaurants. Will definitely book again in the future.

Beautiful ocean view

We loved it here, the view was spectacular .the third floor was great, only thing better would be an elevator as we are both 86. It was so quiet here not much partying going on, nice. The sunsets breathtaking.

See whales from your window

We love to stay at the Hale Kai o Kihei because of its great location, right on the ocean and close to many amenities. It's walking distance to good restaurants, groceries, and Longs drug store. It also a solid built quiet building where you can enjoy privacy on your lania. The manager takes great care of the place.

We love the location. Easy to get to everywhere on the island. Beautiful views and we love being on the beach. Pool was also very refreshing. Our problem was roaches. We called management and they put traps out. That night I had a roach in our bed crawling up my arm. We didn’t get much sleep after that. When we left we found roaches in our clothing therefore we are afraid we will be bringing them home with us which is very unsettling. Other than that it was a beautiful island.

We always enjoy Hale Kai-o-Kihei

We have stayed at Hale Kai-o-Kihei many times in the past and unit 301 is a good example of why. Located right on the ocean at a beach that draws an evening crowd to watch the sun set. It is walking distance to restaurants, stores and sports rentals, but hidden behind the Azeka Shopping center, it is mostly quiet and relaxing. The king bed is welcoming and the kitchen is beautiful. This unit has the best use of space that we have seen. And yes, the view is fabulous.

Love the location

Property needs repairs and updates. Lacks some amenities like a decent knife set, cushions for patio chairs, the carpet should be replaced with flooring more appropriate for a beach location. The wands for drapes are missing and or rusted, windows cranks are missing and or rusted in place. The interior needs painting. Granite surfaces in kitchen and bathroom are nicely done.

Everything as expected

I often stay in this condo complex when visiting Maui (not necessarily this unit). Everything in this unit is in good shape, kitchen update quite recent, updated TV, and of course the views from the lanai are great. A few really small items that could be improved: the A/C in these units is typically not strong - but it wasn't too hot, so no worries. Lanai carpet and chairs a bit dated/basic. Also, I was allowed a late check out, which really helped with my late flight.

Ok property in perfect location

This was our 2nd stay at Hale Kai O Kihei but first time in 301. To get this location for this price is 5 star … right on beachfront, great beach for a walk or a swim, whale watching from lanai, parking. The trade off for the price is that 301 is dated.. While countertops are newish, appliances are old but functional. Furniture and carpet could use a refresh. In particular the lanai furniture is overdue for replacement. External property well maintained, did not use pool. Again … the location is everything you want from Maui if you want to be on the water. Will we book again … probably.

Ideal location

If you're looking for a great location on Maui, Kihei is ideal. This property backs up to the ocean so the views and proximity to the beach can't be beat. The unit itself is okay. There's nothing terrible special about it. It's not my intent to be critical but it lacked character. There was little in the unit that made it feel "homey". No decorations, nothing to suggest you were in paradise. If you're looking for a functional clean unit with an ocean front view in an ideal location, this works. With minimal effort, this unit could be special.

there was not enough water, milk size glasses. the louvers on the front room windows did not work one bedroom lamp shade had no on/off switch. big ugly stain on bedroom carpet.

Nice Place

The location was ideal but there were homeless men that camped out on the beach right next to the property. I didn't feel comfortable letting my kids go to the ocean without me being right there. It was a huge downside to this place and I know the owners can't control that. The master bedroom does not have a dividing wall with a door from the rest of the condo, we didn't like that. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was loud and didn't do a good job. The lights in the bathroom kept strobing really bad. The unit was clean when we arrived and the kitchen was stocked with the basic essentials. The view from the balcony was amazing. I don't think we'll stay here again.

Ok..adjust your expectations

This is a nice building. It's built solid so you won't hear your neighbors, that's a rare commodity and a huge plus if you have kids. This unit however needs a deep clean and some paint. My suggestion is to not judge until you've gotten past the first 10 feet. When you open the door your first view of the unit is a dingy bedroom and a dresser right in the way. This is just lazy and stupid. Paint the bedroom white, put a light on the ceiling fan, and move the dresser into the closet. 100 bucks at home depot and your guests first impression will be much better. The living room is nice and comfortable. The air works great although it's loud. But great for hot afternoons. The property itself is very nice. Pool is sparkling, the beach right out front is great, (but bring your sandals there are rocks.) We had a wonderful time here and would come back anytime. Take a hundred bucks off my stay and I might even paint for you!

Beautiful stay in paradise

Hale Kai O Kihei #301

Renting process very easy. Unit was a little dated and had everything we needed but could use a few more juice glasses etc so we don’t have to run dishwasher daily. Shower door was very dirty. Lanai chairs were terrible. Foldable plastic with no armrests. Only 1 moulded plastic chair. We bought another one for the next guests so at least there are 2 now. All in all an OK unit.

relaxing and comfortable

We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the beautiful sunsets accompanied by the sounds of the Pū, the Hawaiian conch shell. The condo was not luxurious but had all the necessities and felt comfortable. We didn't need to turn on the air conditioning - opening the windows and using the ceiling fans proved perfect at night. Also we found in walking distance a grocery store, restaurants and a food truck park. The local area had a quiet residential feel and was not over-crowded by tourists. We would go again.

We enjoyed the stay a lot, the equipment of this condo is really good, the location very attractive and the view and sunset from the lanai simly amazing! The manager and his wife were very friendly, we enjoyed the stay a lot! We would come again and recommend this to anyone who wants for reasonable money very nice accomodation on Maui!
