It was a lovely stay in this very comfortable cottage.Easy to reach and within short access to a lot of interesting places. We can recommend this to everyone. The warm welcome with flowers and a bottle of wine made it even better! Thank you.Ruud and Margriet
Everything that you need for a comfortable stay. Perfect outlook for a peaceful holiday.
The only reason we didn't give a 5* is that it wasn't obvious from the photographs that the spiral staircase is very narrow. The bathroom and toilet are downstairs and the living and sleeping area upstairs and it was awkward to negotiate in the middle of the night. It would also be an problem if you have mobility issues. It is dog friendly but not welcoming as dogs are not allowed upstairs though I doubt any dog could negotiate the spiral staircase. This meant that in the evening our dogs were not with us. The cleaning instructions were that we must not leave any sign that dogs had been on the premises and that cleaning wasn't paid for? A slightly unusual reference on the instructions upon arrival.
However, that being said, we would stay again due to the beautiful and peaceful location.
We had a great time renting the talbot studio. Sue was quick to respond to communications and came and checked in with us to make sure we arrived safely and had everything we needed. The studio was very clean and comfortable, and a great base for us with our dog for a weekend exploring the Lakes District.
What an amazing property, so peaceful and cosy with fantastic views across open countryside. Lovely garden to enjoy with just the sound of the birds while sipping on a glass of wine after a day out walking. Excellent facilities throughout: fully fitted Kitchen and bathroom including power shower and central heating. Can't recommend enough.
Brilliantly positioned for our needs for a long weekend in Cumbria.
Stunning views from lounge/bedroom. Very comfortable - Sofa probably too cosy as we kept dozing off on it. Well appointed for a couple and dog.
Only downs were the lack of a gate at the bottom of the garden, we couldnât let dog out on his own and an intermittent wi-fi coverage, otherwise a perfect bolt hole for us.
Great place to stay, had everything we needed. Very clean and well presented. Loved the view over the fields.
We didn`t realise the garden was shared with the neighbouring Talbot cottage but it didn`t bother us. We would definitely return in the future.
Only negative point put WiFi repeater in bedroom and downstairs as it would be
Nice not to be perched on the end of bed to use current WiFi other than that I would recommend and return for another stay Thanks Sue.
Regards
Gary
Lovely quiet place be lovely to sit out in the summer
Nice and clean with good facilities but would be nice to have tv down stairs while having breakfast. The only bad point was the stairs which are little trick and going down in the night. But we did have a lovely time.
Very pleased with cottage and location. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean loved the huge bed. views from lounge were loveley. Visited many places and enjoyed the theatre in Keswick. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Janet and Ken
Had a brilliant time. Talbot Studio in Helton is a perfect little hide away for a couple wanting a bit of time away. All you could want for, set in beautiful countryside with very good access to Penrith and the northern lakes. Owner very helpful, could not do enough for us.
Wow what a location was our first thoughts.
On entering Talbot Studio it met more than we could have hoped for,
certainly more than its listing described. It was extremely clean, well equipped and milk waiting in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the side. A visit from Sue later who kindly checked we were ok and had everything we needed. We loved the area, visited the show at Lowther Castle and enjoyed the countryside around us when we went for a drive on the Sunday.
Great place, location, customer service.
I would recommend to all, have already posted something on facebook and been onto trip adviser to leave a review. We have already booked for next year
This property is beautiful. When you first walk in you can tell everything has been well cared for. The house is spotless and we were very grateful for the little extra touches such as milk, tea and coffee, and bottles of water. There are lovely walks in the area and two pubs within 1 mile which both serve lovely food ( Queens Head and Punchbowl ). Very convenient for touring. Our dogs were made very welcome by Sue and also all the different places we went to eat. Would definitely recommend it.
