Very unique, clean and surprisingly quiet property in a great walkable location to the Arts and Sciences Center, Mercado Colon, and the market. Once you get used to the six flights of stairs itâs a great spot. It could also use additional air conditioning as the upper loft bedroom was unusable due to the heat but thankfully the pullout couch downstairs was comfy. Parking was a challenge and expensive at the FNAC but we found weekly parking close by after some online searching. All in all a fun unique property.
Location is everything. The penthouse is only a few minutes walk from the train station. Our cab from the train station to the penthouse was about 3 mins.
Access was very easy and Jose Luis checked to make sure we got in ok. He was also available for any questions we had.
The place is exactly as described. The bed in the loft is very comfortable and the extra room with daybed was perfect as a dressing room and place to read.
The only thing Iâd say could make it better would be a few extra towels would be nice but the bathroom was well stocked otherwise. We used the washing machine and air dried our clothes (we were there for a week) so it worked out fine.
We walked to el Market only about a 10 min walk as well as the main plaza of the town easily. We walked to El Carmen, La Seu and Gran VĂa and Russafa daily and never felt like we couldnât get up and do it again the next day and the next etc. We took the metro just on the other side of the train station to the Arts and Sciences complex easily. Walking the Turia âriverâ park back to old town from there was lovely.
Overall Iâd say The Penthouse checked all the boxes for us and weâd happily stay there again.
My friend and I stayed here for a few days in late May and we overall enjoyed our time there.
Be aware that the communication with the landlord was weird and a bit frustrating. He was not that forthcoming and I had to take the initiative to get the information in time for our arrival. However, he was flexible when our train was delayed.
The flat itself is nice, modern and clean. We loved the view from the balcony and the open loft style. Still, there is room for improvement: For example, the smaller room does not have a ceiling and we could not open the roof window upstairs. So we would recommend only staying here with people you are comfortable with because you do not get that much privacy. The kitchen is well-equipped, but a few knives that actually work would be good. It gets very warm in the flat, especially upstairs, but there is an air conditioner you can use. The main door to the building was tricky to unlock which made us nervous but you get used to it after a few days.
The area was calm, very close to the main train station and you can get to anywhere in the old town in 10-20 min which was very convenient.
Hope this was helpful and have a lovely time in Valencia!
This funky loft apartment is located in a really fun and Central part of Valencia close to so many things including metro stations within a few minutes walk and yet in a quiet neighbourhood when it comes to noise at night. It was well equipped with all the basics you needed, although we never managed to make the coffee machine work which was a pity since we are morning coffee lovers! We just went to the numerous cafes situated around instead!
I Found check in and check out arrangements a little frustrating if Iâm honest, I had to chase the owner for checking in details for two days before and only received them a few hours before arriving. When it came to checking out the owner said the night before that he needed to do that in person which is a first in my experience, therefore we arranged our morning to make sure we were back at the apartment in time before heading to the airport only get a message shortly before that he couldn't make it after all and we could leave the keys in the box! so all a bit frustrating, but apart from that a brilliant little apartment in a fantastic area of Valencia.
The only other slight niggle was that the outside door to the apartment block was quite difficult to get into, you needed to wiggle the key very gently before it would take so it actually took us 10 minutes to figure it out and get into the apartment block to start with! However all that aside it I would really recommend this rental.
I told myself I would not write my first bad review yet here I am. I want to give people that consider this place the accuracy of the listing. This is a 5th-floor "walk up" with narrow stairs. And once inside you must climb more stairs for the loft. that is expected but, after a day of walking around the city, the last thing you may want to do is climb 5 floors of stairs. The difference being Penthouses have elevators and this was not specified in the listing. Additionally, the towels and sheets smelled bad as if they weren't clean. and someone from downstairs was smoking and the smoke climbed up to the loft. However, the place looks great and could be comfortable if you bring your sheets and towels and don't mind walking up 5 floors.
I called vRBO to mention my disappointment with the stairs matter and the towels and sheets. All they did was get the Manager of the space on the call. He basically yelled at me and the vRBO rep did not assist in any way.
And there you have it my first bad review and a vRBO that costs me almost 1K with no solution.
This apartment was very nice and suited us reasonably well for our stay. The place was clean, well furnished, and cozy. Just a couple of facts, not complaints, to be taken into consideration.
1. This is a penthouse loft apartment with no elevator in the building. 56 steps up to the top. Take that into consideration when youâre needing to haul luggage up those stairs.
2. We were there in the middle of June. Thereâs only one air conditioning unit in the apartment. The vaulted ceiling creates a pocket of hot air which made sleeping in the upstairs loft very difficult.
Again, these are not complaints about the place, just things that renters should take into consideration if they have mobility needs or prefer to sleep in cooler environments.
The landlord was very nice and flexible around some of our requirements. We enjoyed ourselves and the city tremendously.
