The place has a hostel feel to it. The entryway and garden are dirty but the room itself was clean. The communication with management was slow but when they did respond they were very accommodating. The room was a good size, the place was quiet and in a convenient location. All in all, I’d say it’s not bad for a short stay.

A reasonably priced, compact studio, ideal for a stay in the city. Excellent location and all facilities necessary in the studio. The owner was helpful and friendly.

The location was perfect, everything was walkable, although it was tricky to find at first because we did not receive any instructions. The communication to check in did not work as expected for some technical reasons. Otherwise, the host was very kind to check on us through a message everyday.

Stayed for a week in beautiful Aix en Provence. The apartment is close to the main market square, and situated in the lively old town is close to everything. The apartment has plenty of light and everything needed for a comfortable stay.

5 stars I had 3 delightfully restful days in the Finonous Studios. The room was clean and well furnished for an extended stay. The location was perfect, as it’s just off a busy street, so easy to access everything but quiet. The manager, Paul was super helpful, from communicating with our taxi to helping with my luggage. Would have gladly stayed longer if I could!

An excellent location in the heart of the historic precinct. Perfect to self cater or have a base from which to pop out and explore - any time of day or night. As an affordable, friendly option with all the facilities ond needs - I highly recommend Catherine Studios. I will return.

We had a great stay at Finsonius Studios! We booked through Expedia and the host contacted straight away for the security deposit and asked for our arrival time. We paid the security deposit and the host provided a receipt. The host messaged on WhatsApp the day of check in and provided the key lockbox code. As it was quite cold and raining, the host had left some lights on for us and the heater ☺️ It was a cosy little apartment with everything we needed! It was easy to find, in a great location and very quiet at night time!

A treasure in Aix- en- Provence

Location was excellent Centre ville. Host/ property manager was exceptionally polite and helpful. He even guarded our luggage so we could enjoy our last afternoon at La Rotonde at the end of the Cours Mirabeau before catching a very convenient bus direct to the airport in Marseilles. Paul even sold me a cloth picture on the wall to give the money to his daughter who will soon visit New York.

Great location. Walking distance to everywhere. The host is very kind and helpful. He helped me check train schedules and gave me valuable information for my trip. And he is a very understanding person who even forgave me for late notice of leaving. I thank him very much!

Not clean

The owner was kind to let us have a bigger room with a larger bed. However, the room was not clean and we left after the first night. No refund was offered for the remaining four days.

The photos must be old. The garden was overgrown & uninviting. You had to move the fridge to get into it & it then blocked the entry door. There was nowhere to put luggage. The whole place was tiny and smelt old & unused.

The property is in town on a quiet street. Within a 5-minute walk, there is a supermarket and the cours Mirabeau is a 10-minute walk. The most important attribute of the hotel is its owner, Paul. Paul takes great care of his guests. He is flexible and very accommodating to the needs of his guests. I stayed two times with a week-end in between and he kept my luggage for me and then put it in the room when it was time to check in. He also didn't accept the taxi driver's suggestion to walk a few streets to meet him, and instead told him that he could and needed to drive to the studio's door to pick me up. He was attentive to my needs and made sure that I was having a positive experience. Paul was the best!

This might be suitable for a poor student, but it should not be listed on Hotels.com. I suppose you get what you pay for. There were no towels, so I never used the shower. I washed my face with my hands and used my robe to dry face and hands. It was warm and the bed comfortable enough. Rugs were filthy and covering broken tiles in the floor. I was really grossed out and tried not to touch any surfaces in the apartment. I paid a 250 Euros deposit and haven't received it refunded on my credit card.

An Adenture

We arrived by rental car. Suddenly gps told us to park (nothing) but found a local garage. We were shocked that we were not able to drive to front door to drop off our bags. This is located in area with no cars. At 76 and 78 we bumped our way 1/2 mile or so down a cobble stone road (leaving pushing up those same cobblestone roads) Also to our surprise we were on the second floor(in usa terms the third) with no elevator. We had to carry our bags up 3 flights of narrow stairs. Otherwise this hotel is very charming and Paul was fabulous about answering our calls. When we left he did come racing up to carry our bags down. One time we were locked in. He had a friend within 10 minutes come and unlock the door. One of the other tennants had sand on their key which blocked our key from going all the way in. This is not a place for the old of heart.

Getting into the room was a real challenge, and even finding the building was as well since the address comes up Maps with a different street name. The owner sent instructions for the lockbox to get the keys, but I had never seen a device like that so I did not understand how to open it or that the keys were inside. I had to call him using international minutes and he seemed annoyed with me, but he did come to help me and this was around 9 PM and it was quite cold. The owner changed my room at the last minute to accommodate my daughter staying with me for one night, which gave me two twin beds but it was a ground floor room, which was actually below the ground floor and so had no view at all. The shutters could not physically even be opened. The shower only had hot water for 2 to 3 minutes, so I could either wash my hair or shave my legs, but not both. There was a leak under the bathroom sink that dripped the entire time into a bucket that may have been left for that purpose, but I had to make sure it was positioned just so in order to catch all the water that was dripping. The very worst part was, I couldn’t find a bad smell until I finally found that the kitchen trashcan had old trash in it and also about 2 to 3 inches of disgusting black water. I cleaned it with the dish soap that was in the kitchen, but I almost vomited in the process because it was so disgusting. The owner was apologetic and the location was convenient, had good heaters, and the price was good.

No light in kitchen but it seemed functional. Didn’t use.
