Great house

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this house and come year after year. I could sit watching the canal all day watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder. Clean, well maintained, and mostly well appointed. Recommendations: Kitchen could use a good reorganizing and really needs some good cooking knives; TV does not get anything! Fortunately we brought our Apple TV. Seems a rental should have a better cable package. WE did it all. Left some menus in the blonder and two boogie boards in the garage. We will be back in 2025!

Fantastic stay

We had the best week on the island. The island is only 7 miles long so we explored just about all of it. The house was nestled at the end of a pine covered canal. The dock made it easy to launch our kayaks and do some fishing. The pictures online didn't show it but there is a full flight of regular carpeted steps to the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs bedroom is a lot warmer than the downstairs so bring some extra fans. We didn't bring a wide enough gate for the deck so we improvised with some extra plastic chairs. The kitchen was well stocked and included a regular coffee maker in addition to the Keurig. The warmers under the range hood made serving a hot breakfast even easier.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As always, the Gordon/Fitzgerald families had a fantastic week at Blarney Shores. The layout of bedrooms and bathrooms is perfect for our family. The dog-friendly element is also perfect. The access to the canal and the well stocked kitchen are among the many plusses. We will return next year.

Mostly Good

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the house (Blarney Shores), Chincoteague island, and the beach at Assateague National Seashore. We hated that mosquitos swarmed us when we stepped outside the house, and harassed us elsewhere on the island, but, thankfully, not on the beach. We disliked the plastic sheet covers on the mattresses. We also disliked having to pay two middlemen for the rental: Vrbo and Harbour Rentals. The ladies we met at Harbor were courteous and kind. Our favorite and recommended activities: renting scooters for touring the island, sitting on the beach, walking along the beach and observing the many small crabs skittering sideways into their holes, stopping to photograph the ponies on the way to the beach, eating good food at Bill's Prime, and dinner on the beach with live music at The Ropewalk restaurant.

A beautiful, clean, serene property location with all the amenities you need. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming. A wonderful accommodation! We loved EVERYTHING about Blarney Shores!

Wonderful house overall

The house is beautiful and was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed out stay overall. However, it's important to know that the 4th bedroom is an open loft, which didn't work well for our family. This was not clear in the rental description. Also, we will never rent a house again that requires bringing our own bedding and towels. It was extremely inconvenient to have to drag our own sheets, blankets, pillows and towels for a group of six for a weekend getaway. Perhaps this is a valid precautionary measure for coronavirus, but we haven't seen other properties following this protocol. Bottom line: If the loft arrangement works for you and the bedding/towel situation changes, I highly recommend renting this wonderful house.

Great week stay

The place was clean and well maintained, and had plenty of space to sit/cook/hangout. Good location and the neighborhood was beautiful. Only issues is that the deck doesn’t have a gate so it was hard to have the dog outside on the deck with us.

Nice house

The property is well located, you can bike to the center of town and to the beach if you are used to biking. The drive to the beach is easy. The house is well equipped. We were there in late August so it was hot and muggy with lots of mosquitoes. There was a screened gazebo if you wanted to sit outside. The AC works very well. The house is essentially 3 bedrooms. The third sleeping area (a loft) is open to the main part of the house. It is accessed by a steep spiral stairway. If you can sleep through anything or you go to bed late and rise early, I suppose it would work as a bedroom. There is no bathroom for the loft so you would have to share the one downstairs. The three bedrooms are nice and have comfortable beds. There are showers in the two large bedrooms. The twin bedroom is on the main floor off the kitchen area. The bathroom for that bedroom is not attached but is convenient and has a tub. The washer and dryer are great. There is a large garage for storage of bike, kayaks etc. There are games and puzzles as well as books. The kitchen is well equipped with a great gas stove. The furniture is comfortable.

Wonderful rental property in Chincoteague

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic week in this lovely, spacious house. My daughter, her husband, and there three daughters had all recently acquired kayaks and loved the access to the canal. Those of us who go on vacation for peace and quiet were also thrilled with the house. This is the fourth house we have recented in Chicoteague and it is by far the most comfortable, best located, and downright pleasant house of the bunch.

I would say this was one of the best we've ever stayed at. Everything was clean and well taken care if. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing we didn't care for was the beds. They were too firm for us, but that is a personal preference so I can't hold that against the house.

Blarney Shores...a great beach getaway.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is in a great location with a canal right in back of house. Back deck great spot for morning/evening outside time. Not buggy at all. Did a lot of crabbing. Only complaint is VERY smelly garbage left in garage and house bathrooms could use a bit more TLC when it comes to cleaning. A/C worked great. Kitchen is stocked ok...could us a few more items for larger dinners. All beds very comfy. Great washer/dryer. Very nice decor inside. Loft area great spot for kids. WiFi/cable worked well. Would definitely recommend and will be back next year. Biked to downtown daily for groceries so not too far from town(couple min by car) and about 10 min to beach. Really is a neat house!

Beautiful House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful, well-equipped house, even for pets (they even supply a crate) in a nice, quiet neighborhood. On Chincoteague, you are very close to everything. The house is on a canal; my only complaint would be it is hard to put in a kayak because there is a drop from the water's edge, even though there is a ladder. I also wish there was a fully-fenced yard (for the dog), an outdoor shower (although there is a short shower for washing your feet), and a screened porch (screened gazebo is just not the same thing). Overall, a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this house. We would definitely rent this house again. We were only 4, which was luxurious, but it sleeps 7 comfortably.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful home. We had a few issues. The kids' beds were uncomfortable. Also, the loft area had not been cleaned of sand and dog hair. Something sticky was on the front hall floor. However, we love Chincoteague, and this house is an excellent choice for kids and pets!
