Gorgeous Ocean Views from Waihi Beach - Mt Maunganui Private Rustic country home

Drive through a vista of ferns, over a small water ford up a country drive way to a property with stunning views from Mt Maunganui - Matakana Island. Relax in the hot tub looking out to the harbour, don’t be surprised if a Tui, Kereru or a cheeky fantail swoop through from tree to tree. BBQ on the deck listening to the Morepork call or cook in the modern kitchen with truly breathtaking views. Swimming pool, Water features and privacy. The Homing Pigeons fly surveying the land ducking and diving and ‘Flint’, the Alpaca would love to be hand fed if you wish. Our fish pond out from the deck also homes 3 Axolotls, which can be seen when the sun goes down.

We have a very basic gym in the garage comprising of Rower, Weights, Kettle bells, Back Stretcher, Gym Exercycle

One of the owners is a professional artist and the home is filled with paintings from her own private collection. Upon request gallery will be open. You can have family or precious pets or just have a quiet getaway.

We are surrounded by bush walks, cycling tracks, beaches, cafes and restaurants. Endangered Kereru (Wood Pigion) Tuis, kingfisher, Parrots, while Pukeko and Pheasants wander the property.

Visit the nearby Kaimai ranges, enjoy the many activities the bay of plenty has to offer.

Explore the Bay of Plenty, Auckland motorway, Hamilton and Rotorua only 90 mins away. Only 1hr 15mins from the famous Hobbiton movie set . 35 mins from Tauranga, 45mins from Mt Maunganui . Waihi Beach 20 mins away, Whangamata 50 mins.
Explore the local Kaimai ranges, Gold mines at Waihi, many beautiful beaches and hot springs.

You can contact us when needed, we are situated in an Off Road Caravan at the bottom level of the property, roadside. The Air BnB is situated at the top level of the property, showing off the view, with complete privacy.

Our rural driveway has 2 sharp turns, drive a steady speed and try not to stop. 4wd are welcome and get up our drive with ease, 2wd are not a problem as long as driven confidently. (Lightweight vans struggle a bit sometimes - but have always made it up). Spa has just been upgraded - please treat with care (no glass ware) and enjoy.

We loved our stay at this bach, it had everyhting we needed for the weekend. Enjoyed the water views all day, soaked in the spa under the stars and the kids/dog loved sprawling on the deck.

Wonderful stay

We really enjoyed staying at Yana and J’s home. It was beautiful from the art on the inside to the beautiful land on the outside. We really enjoyed our farm animal tour and the recommendation for finer wines. The hosts were lovely, friendly people. We highly recommend this relaxing retreat!

Lovely rural bach

We really enjoyed staying at the bach, we thought it was even nicer than the photos. The children really enjoyed the hot tub and also hanging out with the animals, in particular the alpaca :-).

Highlights: spectacular view, spacious living areas, quiet/private area, helpful and communicative hosts. Amenities/supplies/general living conditions were very satisfactory.House does get a little warm without opening doors/windows. Dishes had some residue upon arrival. Driveway/hill up to property was somewhat scary, but manageable, but 4 wheel drive seems almost a requirement.

Beautiful home in a stunning location. So many amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only issue was that the bedding didn’t seem clean. It had a smell to it that made me feel as if it hadn’t been washed in awhile. There were also a lot of cobwebs around and quite dusty in places. We gave the bbq a good clean before using it as that wasn’t looking very good either. The pool was not useable as there were bugs and grass in it. Perhaps a cover for that will be a good option. The place otherwise was pure paradise and I really appreciated Yana being able to courier the clothes left behind. Yana’s communication was also fantastic. We would love to visit again one day.

Our linen is stripped from all beds after guests check out and is washed and dried, ALWAYS (in fact I do it at the Laundramat). We are a rural property with a gravel driveway so cobwebs and dust arrive as quick as they are cleared. We don’t have a cover for the pool, we do have motor filter and we hand clean with the pool sieve catcher, when the wind picks up then leaves get in to the pool. The pool sieve catcher is beside the pool. We also ALWAYS clean the BBQ after each guest leaves. (We are a very busy BNB destination, so there is regular cleaning by our Cleaner and then by us the owners).

Heaven on Earth

This was exactly what we hoped. Breathtaking views that made us wish we could stay longer. We had a short visit on our way to Australia, this was perfectly located for day trips to Rotorua / Te Puia and Hobitton along with a wine day at Waiheke. We would make the day long flights again to stay here!

Stunning hideaway

The view from the deck of this property is as advertised - gorgeous. Creates instant calm. Nestled in the bush this property was open plan, cosy and had different spaces indoors and outdoors for the mood or occasion. Amenities were spot on. Our group wanted for nothing. Comms with the hosts was friendly, easy and attended too quickly. Would recommend and stay again.
