The unit has great ocean views on both sides above the tree canopy and other nearby buildings. The bathroom sink doubles for the kitchenette. Additional soap for the shower and dishwashing would be helpful next time. We'd come back again to stay here.
A Great Place to Stay Just Far Enough Away from the Hustle and Bustle of Waikiki
I've been looking at the Diamond Head Beach Hotel and Residences for a few years now and finally got a week booked there. It's quiet, on the ocean, in Kapiolani Park and a 10-15 minute walk to the big Waikiki hotels and attractions. The accommodations were bright, clean and the views from the 11th floor were great, on both sides. Friendly staff, reserved parking in the basement and a self-serve laundry were all bonuses.
Location was perfect with beautiful views of Diamond Head and the ocean from the room. Short walk to the beach was nice and if you want hustle and action walk a mile and you can have shopping/restaurants. The unit is older- creaking bed when roll over and wasnât cleaned very well with still garbage and dirty towels- contacted host and they relayed message to cleaners. Would stay here again as price is right and location is perfect!!
Over all we had a nice stay here. Quiet as compared to being on the Waikiki strip yet close enough to enjoy the beaches, restaurants, parks, and take part in the Waikiki festivities. Loved the courtyard and being able to look right out on the ocean. Our room was clean, the bed was a bit squeaky and softer than I am used to but thatâs just me. The AC was cold, the kitchenette was nicely appointed with all items you would need for snacking, or heating items up, plenty of towels were also available and had good communication with the property managers. Would stay here again. Mahalo
The unit is the size of a moderate hotel room, with a very small kitchenette. The building is narrow, one unit wide, which means that if you are high enough (we were on the 11th floor), there are spectacular ocean views from the windows on each side of the unit. The location is perfect . . . away from the Waikiki rat race, a very short walk to a public beach, and if you can score a visitor pass from a friend, the Outrigger Canoe Club is only two doors away.
The views make it easy to overlook that this is an older building and unit, and it shows, at least cosmetically. The AC is a bit noisy, and the bed does squeak, but the unit was quite clean. These arenât resort accommodations, but itâs clean, quiet and safe, and all we needed was a place to sleep. We wouldnât hesitate to stay there again if the opportunity arises.
Property was nice. Wouldâve been better if he didnât mess up my reservation and move me to a whole other location. Was rude and then once he realizes he was in the wrong he talked to me nicer. Make sure he actually saves your reservation.
When we arrived, the property host determined that the condo had been double booked. As a result we were relocated to suite 901, a front of the property suite with a direct view of the ocean. It was a very pleasant surprise and we thank the property manager very much.
Rather use lockbox so much easier
Location perfect
Some new sheets and pillows would be great
Hope to see you soon .. thank you
PS bathing towels nice but maybe another set of beach towels would be nice

Great location, awesome views
The location was great. Quiet. Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, with the parks as a buffer, but still just a short walk to that area. The views of Diamond Head, Waikiki, and the beach/ocean were spectacular. The whole facility appeared to be clean and well maintained. The room was fine. Bathroom could use some attention - signs of age and water damage, but I would stay again.
Great location, great view but poor on arrival and room had issues
For the price the location is great and the room is a good size with all the basics you need. However we had issues getting in the room, we didnt have mobiles so we had to rely on pay phones to say we had arrived, whoever was on the other side of the phone was so rude and unhelpful. However we eventually met someobe who was to take us to our room who was polite and the guy at the desk was helpful so apart from the 1 call customer service was good. Issues with the room, the bath tap was dodgey and the bathroom floor was soaked when we arrived, minor thing but the tap needs fixing at somepoint. The fridge seemed to be broken, kept freezing things randomly turned out to be a real pain when youd want to relax and have your salad ir wrap for tea only for it to be a block of ice, the sink was annoying for filling the kettle up or washing things which was a bit annoying. TV options were great for winding down in the evening or getting out the sun for a bit. Would i go here again yes, but i do hope they make it a bit easier to confirm their arrival for people outside the US and just fix some of the things inside the apartment and itd make for a faultless stay.
My dad lives a few doors down so this is a perfect location for us when we visit. Itâs a good walk to Waikiki and beaches. The loudest thing around is the surf and wind.
Great view of Diamondhead and the hills, good partial view of the ocean. Modest accommodations, but clean and nice. THERE'S NO KITCHENETTE! We thought there was and was let down to learn we couldn't cook at all. Snorkel, beach towels all provided. Parking in facility is expensive. W/ a bit of shuffling, there is mostly-free parking to be had across the street. For some reason, walking the balcony to our room gave us acrophobia each time! lol The manager, David, was kind and super helpful!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we had a phenomenal time! Mark and his office were great about communicating with us before we arrived and once we got to Hawaii to make our travel very easy. The apartment had incredible sweeping views of Diamond Head, the city, and of course the ocean. It was very comfortable and quiet, and close to many of the shops, restaurants, beaches, and hiking that we wanted to experience. I would highly recommend!
Bad experience, dont spend your money in this hotel room!
No light working in the room and shower. The table is too small for eating or wrighting, the courtains are very poor and small, yo wake up at six o clock in the morning because the sun is in the room. Finally the tv control is very complicated, we cud not see tv programs. I wasted my money. Ill never come back in this hotel!!!
This was the first time staying in a vacation rental in Hawaii. It was the best time we ever had! I was skeptical at first but it was the best experience. Check in was easy. Rob greeted me at the property, showed me the room and off we went! David at the front desk was very accommodating. He answered all my questions. The property was located away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. But within walking distance to the main street. It was nice quiet and peaceful! It had beautiful views of Diamond Head and the ocean view of Waikiki!! The property was located right along the water! I would definitely book a room here again!!
This condo has one of the very best view locations of any condo we have stayed in over the years in Waikiki; Unobstructed ocean, Diamond Head Crater, and Kapiolani Park views from the 11th floor, and all of that for an exceptional bargain price! David, our host was a polite and gracious host during our 12 day stay and all went quite smoothly overall.
My only advice for the management would be to coordinate and communicate more effectively to eliminate any misunderstandings relating to the scheduled meeting time etc. On the reservation instructions, it states once arrived at the airport to call management to let them know you have arrived. We did this and were told that this was not necessary and to call once we arrived at the Hotel...which we did...and we were then told that they would call us back to let us know when our host was available to let us into the room...which they did not do...So we called back again after waiting an hour, and everything worked itself out. All in all, as mentioned this is a fantastic deal and the management are cordial and accommodating. They simply need to coordinate a few things to transition the whole thing to a more 'user friendly' process. Big Aloha and Mahalo to David! We will recommend this and other condos in the hotel under his management.

You'll love the location! Nestled under Diamond Head and surrounded by Kapiolani Park the Breeze from the ocean and peaceful location ensure a great nights sleep after discovering the island.
We're only a 10 minute walk from Waikiki but it really could be the other side of the island, No loud mopeds, no loud frat parties in the room next door, The Diamond Head Beach Hotel is a relaxing home away from home and prides itself on its privacy and Boutique feel.
