THE SPACE: Welcome to your home away from home while visiting the city. Recently updated and designed with a mid century style and Boho accents. This 2-bedroom/1-bathroom apartment will suit all of your needs. Relax after a long day working or exploring in front of our 65” Roku TV ready to log into your streaming accounts. Whip up a meal in the stocked kitchen, which includes a drip coffee maker, tea kettle, coffee, tea, sweeteners and creamers, various cooking utensils and a dishwasher. The bathroom includes all the necessary towels and bath products (hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Guests enjoying a longer stay will welcome the washer/dryer, and you will be able to stay connected with our 250+ mb WiFi.

EXERCISE: This unit includes a row machine for your use.

WORK: You will be able to sit or stand while getting work done on an electronic adjustable desk located in the living room.

THE AREA: We are more than happy to offer our recommendations about the local area and answer any questions you have about the unit or the complex itself. You can reach us through the conversation thread or text messaging during your stay.

OCCUPANCY: This unit allows 4 overnight guests. Over occupancy may result in eviction.

PARKING: There is numbered parking for one car in the parking lot behind the building. Parking is within steps to your unit’s private entrance.

GATHERINGS: We know people like to have a good time, but out of respect to the other tenants and neighbors, this property has a strict “No Party” policy.

QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Guests are responsible for the conduct of all persons in their unit.

SMOKING: Smoking of any kind is not allowed in the unit. There will be a minimum $250 penalty fee if it is determined that there was smoking in your apartment during your reservation period.

MINIMUM AGE: Guests named on the reservation must be 25 years or older. By booking a reservation, you represent and warrant that you are 25 or older and have the legal capacity and authority to enter into a contract. The name on the reservation must be present at check-in and throughout the duration of the stay.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT: Check-in time is at or after 4pm and check-out time is prior to or at 10am. Early check-ins and late checkouts are not available at this time.

SECURITY: For security reasons, there are audio/video recording cameras in the common areas of the building and outside of the building. There is a noise monitoring system inside the unit, however, this only monitors decibels and does not function as a recording device.

Please note that any house rules violation will incur an additional $150 penalty charge.

You will have access to one parking space and the full two bedroom apartment. Access to the unit is through a private entrance on a common stairwell.

You will receive a code for self-check in before your stay.

Historic, mixed building type with businesses and residential, they boast unique dining options such as Metropolitan, YUM Village, Ivy, Mumma Maria’s, Belle Isle Pizza, Two Birds, Red Hook Coffee, and James Beard Nominated Sister Pie and Marrow.

//STAIRS & ACCESS
This apartment requires climbing stairs to access. It is on the first floor and has eight stairs to reach the door.

//Row Machine
There is a row machine for your use while you stay. Please enjoy but do so at your own risk. The host will be held-harmless for any injury that may occur from using the equipment.

//DAMAGE & INCIDENTALS
This space has been designed to feel like a home away from home with many amenities. The booking guest is responsible for any incidentals, damage, or missing items during your stay. This includes but is not limited to destroyed and stained towels and linens.

//NO PETS
We all agree that dogs (and cats!) are our best friends, due to the many common elements of our house, and allergies of our past guests, we do not allow pets. There are no exceptions to this rule including assistance/service animals. There will be a $250 cleaning fee assessed if it is determined a pet has been anywhere in the house.

//GUEST COUNT
The amount of guests that are included in your reservation includes anyone entering the apartment during your stay, not just those staying overnight. If you bring more guests than reserved, you will be charged for the additional number of guests or your booking will be canceled immediately without refund.

//NO PARTIES
Although we all love a good party, we share this historic building with many of our neighbors who are our friends and we take their living environment seriously. Please be aware that large gatherings, heavy drinking, excessive noise and loud music will not be tolerated and reservations will be canceled without refund.

//QUIET HOURS
Quiet hours are from 10pm - 8am. We want you to have fun but please be considerate of our neighbors during these quiet hours.

//NOISE
Although this fully-renovated building is in fantastic shape it was constructed without the benefits of modern soundproofing so you will, on occasion, hear neighbors now and then. This rarely is a problem but if there is any concern please let us know and we will resolve on short order.

//SAFETY & SECURITY
For safety and security there is a security system monitoring the exterior parking area of the property. The cameras are located at the corners of the building. There are no cameras located inside of the unit.

//FRONT DOOR
There is a door leading to the front stairwell of the building that we ask you not use. We do not have smart locks for these doors and you will be locked out if you leave the building through the front requiring you to walk around to the back. Please only use it in case of emergency.

//COMMON SPACES
There are some open landing areas at each level of the stairwell. Feel free to stand in these areas to smoke.

//NO SMOKING
Smoking is prohibited anywhere inside of the apartment. You are welcome to smoke outside in the stairwell area as long as you clean up after yourself. Should this be violated there will be an additional $250 cleaning fee.

Please note that we use a third-party cleaning service for our accommodations. As a result, we do not provide mid-stay cleanings. Thank you for your understanding!

Drug and Substance Policy

At Great Stays, we are committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of all our guests. To maintain a secure and enjoyable environment, we have established the following policy regarding drugs, alcohol, and tobacco:

1. Illegal Drugs:
Absolutely no illegal drugs are permitted in the unit or on the premises. Any evidence of illegal drug use or possession will be reported to the Online Travel Agency (OTA), the local
police, and may lead to immediate eviction without refund.

2. Legal Substances in Michigan:
In the state of Michigan, alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco are legal substances. However, their use on our property is subject to the following conditions:
* Alcohol: Guests may consume alcohol within the unit or on the premises, provided it is done responsibly and without disturbing other guests.
* Marijuana: Smoking or vaping marijuana is strictly prohibited inside the unit. Guests may only use marijuana in designated smoking areas on the property.
* Tobacco: Smoking or vaping tobacco is strictly prohibited inside the unit. Cigarettes may only be smoked in designated smoking areas on the property.

3. Non-Compliance:
Failure to comply with this policy will result in immediate action, which may include eviction, reporting to the OTA, and notification to local authorities.

Great location/Good Amenities/Dirty

Loved the location of the property, its coziness and convienence to area sights. Enjoyed the pots/pans/utensils and washer/dryer/dishwasher provided, subject to issues listed below. The floors were very dirty and need a thorough cleaning. We noticed shortly after arrival that any traffic in the kitchen left filmy shoe prints on the tiles. Using damp paper towels on the kitchen and bathroom tiles lifted a lot of dirt. Rinsing the paper towels in the sinks, the paper towels rinsed out dirty/soapy/sudsy. The swiffer-type cleaning pad was also dirty so we did not use it. We squatted down and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors and thresholds. We believe this situation may have been due to use of the swiffer and/or not fully rinsing the floor to remove all detergent. Black sandal prints tracked anywhere we walked, and this appears to have tracked onto the area rugs which showed previous dirt. The wood floors were very slightly tacky to the touch as well. The sofa also could use steam cleaning. *The dryer took over two hours to dry clothes. (A couple of shirts and two pairs of jeans.) The dryer vents need to be cleaned out.* The coffee pot still had coffee in it when we arrived, from the last time it was used. The basket also had a few leftover grounds in it, so we washed that too. As a precaution, we washed the cooking and eating utensils. The wood floors squeak, loudest in the common areas. Have photos if owners want them.
