Browne House - Meredith Lodging

This Oceanfront single level Bayshore home has wrap around window and offers private beach access right off the homes bright deck! A spacious living room with a flat screen TV and dvd player, two bedrooms, each with a queen, a full bathroom and washer/dryer in the hall makes this home perfect for your next family vacation our couples retreat! Please note- given the unique shape of the home the bedroom walls do not go all the way to the ceiling.

In the Bayshore neighborhood of Waldport. You’ll also enjoy access to the seasonal pool for a fee at the Bayshore Beach Club, plus the neighborhood playground and tennis courts. Miles of wide sandy beach stretch south to the mouth of the Alsea River, and crabbing and fishing are available in Alsea Bay. You’re minutes from Newport to the north, Waldport, Yachats and Florence to the south, and an incredibly beautiful stretch of shoreline in between. Come experience the Central Coast in this clean, open home designed for enjoyment!

The beach was unobstructed and the view was spectacular. The house itself had some wear and tear, could use a bit of a makeover. The kitchen had everything we needed and the rest of the house was very comfortable. Maybe get rid of some of the extraneous junk in the closet. But it's all about location and this was the best. We would definitely book this again.

The house is very nice and clean. The Yurte is speciall. The bathroom is complettly closed, all the other rooms are open to the celling. The people in Waldport are very friendly. To sit on the deck with the view to the ocean is great. We would rent this house again.

Quaint, great view, not great for people with mobility issues

The view is fabulous! The path to the beach is a bit hard to travel. I took my mother with me. She has allergies and asthma. The house made it hard for her to breathe. She also just recently had ankle surgery and it was a struggle for her to get to the bathroom. The house is on par with a cheap mobile home. Bathroom door doesn’t shut well and the house isn’t very level. My mom’s walker would roll away from her in the kitchen if she didn’t set the breaks. Property rental place was great!!! Always helpful and responded right away when I reached out. Not really sure about my needing to strip the sheets off the bed and take the trash out though. Isn’t that what the cleaning crew is for? This stay definitely made my mom want to move to the Oregon coast.

Cute little house perfect for a few friends

Spent the weekend here for my birthday and had a blast exploring the coast, crafting, and relaxing. Good distance from newport and other towns. Very cozy.

Great view, vintage yurt needs refreshing

The view was great and the yurt roomy. Used one bedroom. Bed with the flatest pillows ever, borrowed others from second bdrm. Some pillows very stained. Fridge lacks rails on door shelves. Living room comfortable with lovely view.

Not Clean

I have been to Waldport before and stayed in the same neighborhood and had a great time. This time, it was a last minute booking so I had to take what I could get at that point. It was just myself and my 2 children so we didn’t need much. The listing itself seemed great and the location for me was key to have beach access. This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom was as described except for two key elements. The first disappointment was realizing that the beach access was severely overgrown leaving it only possible to reach by using what was clearly the neighbor’s porch/path. I don’t care to do stuff like that because I wouldn’t like that myself if that was my home/property. The worst part though was the cleanliness of the home. The living room furniture was quite old and worn but I could overlook that. Upon setting up the bedrooms we realized quickly that one of the only two rooms had an overwhelming stench of body odor/must/urine. I assumed it was the carpet so we went to the store and bought air freshener. When that did not work my ten year old mentioned that the bed had a smell. I removed the bedding thinking I could wash it to help, but immediately saw the problem which was the mattress that was 80% covered in stains. I informed property management immediately and was told someone could come clean in the morning which I politely refused due to the fact that their solution did not help me that night and I was not interested in a spot clean. They are for sure not replacing the mattress.

Perfect Little Getaway

Location was beautiful, however, path to the beach from house was overgrown. House was old, but great! Beds were not very comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Amazing location!

This property is right on the beach with fabulous views. The location and the view are the draw for staying here. The house is a yurt and therefore has some quirks. It was clean but there are some areas that are worn or need repairs, such as the kitchen floor. The view makes up for that though. We would stay here again.

Such a sweet spot!

We loved our stay here. The ocean views right from the front porch and easy beach access were so beautiful and relaxing. The location was also very convenient, about 5-7 minutes from town, with good options for groceries, supplies, cafes, and restaurants. When we had a minor issue with the showerhead in our rental, the staff at Meredith was very responsive. We look forward to returning in the future.

Waldport Stay

The first three towels that I tried to use to dry my hands had makeup on them. Coffee cups and other dishes in the shelf were dirty and had to be cleaned before use. Since the towels were all dirty I laundered the bedding before sleeping. The floors hadn’t been swept in awhile and there was dust half an inch thick in places. Most of the plugs either don’t work or things wouldn’t stay in them. The mixer faucet in the shower needs repaired, cold showers every day. Paying $200 a night, there are certain things that should be guest ready. The view was spectacular and all the heaters worked well! 😃. I spend an average of four months away from home, I have rented from Meredith Lodging several times, I like renting from Meredith as there is an office near my home where I can talk or visit with live people. I’m currently booking a ten day visit to Cannon Beach, not sure if I will consider Meredith Lodging.

Wonderful Location

The view of this place was absolutely beautiful. My girlfriend and I had everything we needed to cook and just enjoy the ocean and beach. The place is a little outdated;however, the view and location is what it is about. Just a short walk to the beach and the view from the deck was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Ocean Time

The most wonderful thing about this place was the location, right on the beach with unobstructed and wide ocean view and easy access to the beach. The house was very clean. The beds comfortable and super quiet place. Kitchen fairly well equipped. However, the house is small and dated. The lights in the kitchen didn’t work. The carpet is worn and stained. Furniture old, appliances the cheapest Home Depot stuff. Small, dated bathroom. If you want a quiet, clean place to sit by the ocean, this place is perfect. If you’re looking for nice amenities, this is not the place.

Perfect Location

Overall the property was amazing!! Perfect location, short walk to the beach! Only complaint was the stove/ burners did not work properly and the fridge was dirty. Beautiful over all.
