Magrath is a Wonderfull town. 45 minutes to Waterton park and 20 minutes to Lethbridge. There is a Pharmacy, Sash Pizza, 2 banks, post office, hair salon and seniors centre. Outdoor swimming pool and play grounds. It's a small safe community great for kids. We are wheel chair accessible and use Hypoallergenic laundry detergent and free and gentle fabric softener with no added scents for those with sensitive skin.
The house was charming and rustic feeling, yet very modern amenities. Beverly left a nice care package for us when we arrived and my children loved it. This was one of the best places I've stayed at and we all loved the many deer that would come by. It truly was a great place to relax and enjoy a quite neighborhood while visiting family in the area.
This was my Sister and my first experience with an Air B&B. It was perfect....felt like home. Having 2 bathrooms was great....sunroom was our favourite spot in the house. The owner left fresh farm eggs and evening snacks for us as well. Would definitely stay here again.
This is a lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts could not be kinder. We arrived to snacks and fresh eggs in the fridge! The beds were super comfortable. The linens were incredibly soft.
You will also have Netflix available for those times you are at the house (super nice!)
I would definitely stay here again. It is close to Waterton Park and Payne Lake (where the family reunions are). Lethbridge is also close.
It was hot while we were visiting (90 F / 32 C). While there is a nice wall mounted air conditioner in the living room that keeps the front of the house cool (living room, kitchen and sun room), it did not really move the coolness into the bedrooms. Most of the nights this was not an issue - we opened the windows and let the cool Canadian air in. However, the window in the smaller bedroom did not open, so it was a little warm. I would not let this deter you from booking. Hot nights are uncommon for this area - we just got lucky (or unlucky...)
The accommodations themselves are fine.
Furnace duct expansion/contraction creates extended and repeating periods of metallic tapping. After first poor night of sleep had to turn off furnace at night.
Numerous black bugs (boxelder or similar) kept appearing in kitchen and other areas. Easily killed and not harmful.
Main issue was poor host communication after stay. Expensive item was accidentally left behind by me. Though host did find it and despite their promises to the contrary, and my offer to pick it up, they ended up just trashing it without even reaching out to me for pick up. Then all communication was cut off.
NOT a conscientious host.
