Cute and cozy cottage nestled in the hills of beautiful Metchosin.

Fully renovated, the cottage interior has a modern beachy feel. The kitchen is fully equipped. In suite washer/dryer. Dine inside or out on the covered deck while taking in the tree-lined valley. Lounge on the patio with a Nespresso and enjoy the local wildlife. Relax by the fire while stargazing in the evening. Guests will sleep peacefully on pillow top beds. The bathroom is stocked with plush towels.

West Coast adventure is at your fingertips. Minutes to stunning beaches with mountain vistas, hiking/biking trails, world class fishing and golf courses. Walk or bike to Matheson lake for a swim, canoe, or kayak. Enjoy the extensive Galloping Goose regional trail. Visit Witty's Beach for spectacular views. Children love to search for crabs under rocks during low tide!

Around the corner is Pedder Bay Marina, known for world-class fishing. Also offering, kayak and power boat rentals, guided fishing charters and a coffee house with Starbucks, alcoholic beverages and food.

Local food to enjoy is Glenrosa Farm's take-out Neapolitan thin-crust pizza on Friday and Saturday evenings (call ahead, they sell out often!) The popular MyChosen Cafe and Pizza are also within a 5 minute drive. Dine in or grab a coffee and delicious baked good and say hi to the goats, chickens, and donkeys at the back of the restaurant!

Hi-speed internet is available with Netflix. Please note, cell service is not always reliable in the area. Guests can use wifi-calling on their personal device while at the cottage. OR simply disconnect and enjoy the slower pace that Metchosin offers!!

Located just 30 minutes from downtown Victoria, 15 minutes to Langford, and 20 minutes to Sooke.

A lovely get a way.

Country setting. Very quiet. Great hot tub and the stars at night. Metchosin is a lovely very little town with lots to offer. We will definitely be back.

Week stay

Impeccable cottage, great hot tub, quiet. The only suggestion would be new mattresses. Otherwise, excellent experience with a kind and accomodating property manager.

Perfect Getaway House

We loved the house so much! The neighbors were friendly deer and rabbits. The beds were extraordinarily comfy. We enjoyed the hot tub under shooting stars and had a lovely visit from Sherlock too…

Relaxing and refreshing

My friend was visiting from TX and we planned a girls get away. The house was prefect with 2 bedrooms a living room, dining room, deck and patio. There was a heat wave, so Meg provided a portable AC unit which kept the house cool. We toured the Island visiting Sooke, Victoria and Nanaimo and places in-between. We went down to the Marina in the morning for coffee and found many delicious restaurants for dinners. It is a perfect location to relax and enjoy nature.

Metchosin 2 night stop

A bit more remote than expected. Recommend driving to Sooke for restaurants. Very private location but lots of road noise during the day and evening. Quiet through the night though. Did not use the hot tub but did make a campfire one evening. Star gazing was good. Cabin is modern and comfortable. Stay here if you’re looking for a quiet hideaway.

Beautiful Stay!

We all really loved this place a lot. It felt like home away from home. Super easy to find with great check-in instructions. Easy to operate amenities and very nice views of the surroundings. Would absolutely recommend this place!

The perfect getaway

We had the perfect stay at the cottage in Metchosin. It had everything we needed and more. It was tastefully decorated, well maintained, and made for a very comfortable vacation. The property was beautiful, with great views and tall trees. One morning we even had a visit right out front from a deer and her fawn. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, and communicated well with us before and during our stay to ensure everything went smoothly. The cottage was child-friendly, and included all the amenities needed for us and our toddler. It was a well-balanced location between Victoria and other destinations. A few of our favourite close excursions included the tide pools at Witty’s beach (look up tide charts online), the food at My Chosen Cafe (and the petting zoo), and a walk along the Coburg peninsula. We also enjoyed the hike to Mystic Beach, eating at Red Fish Blue Fish in the Victoria harbour, as well as many other adventures. Our stay was great, and we hope one day to return for more. We highly recommend this as the perfect place to enjoy all the island has to offer.

A breath of fresh air

11/10!!! Perfect location if you want to go hiking or day trips into Victoria. Listening to the birds in the morning on the patio with a coffee was absolutely magical. Meg gave us local recommendations which were amazing! I will definitely be back :) Great for fires, very clean, friendly host, lots of privacy!

Hello, my name is Meg. I am a Registered Nurse and my husband is a CAF Veteran. We fell in love with island life and moved to Metchosin two years! Like you, we enjoy travelling and have stayed at many different accommodations. We wanted to create a special place to explore the beautiful west coast. We are so excited to welcome you to our little retreat!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We were looking for a home to put deep roots to raise our family. We appreciate the value of locally grown food and hope to start a small hobby farm in the future. We adore the slower pace of life in Metchosin; always surrounded by birds singing and plenty of wildlife.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

There are so many beautiful places to explore year round. We enjoy walking to Matheson lake for a swim in the summer, or stroll down the Galloping Goose. Hiking is endless nearby with beaches (one of our favourites is 5 minutes away; Taylor Beach), waterfalls and trails. East Sooke Park - Iron Mine Bay and Coastal trail are some of our favourites!
