East coast visitors

We had an incredible time staying at the guest house - it was the perfect place to land after a long day of travelling from P.E.I.It was clean, homey and felt like our own private getaway. We would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful property, in a nice region. The house was equipped with everything we neede for our stay. Two nice dogs that welcomed us each time we came back after an outing. It was a pity we only had two days to enjoy it,The perfect place for our family reunion.

Awesome place to stay

We loved staying at this VRBO. It's located in a beautiful location. Beautiful place exactly as listed. Clean, quiet and a fully equipped kitchen. Owners were prompt and check in was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to friends and family.

Amazing stay!!!

We absolutely loved this place. The hosts have thought of everything for a comfortable get-away. The location is perfect as it is close to numerous hiking trails but still only a short distance to Langford or downtown Victoria. We will definitely be back again.

My friends and I went on our first solo trip and Matheson Lake Guest House was such a wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed being a bit more removed and having the quiet surroundings, and having the dogs greet us every time we drove in! The place was very clean and the kitchen was well supplied.

Beautiful Property!

We had such a great time! The 'Tree House' was clean, cozy, and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need. The location was ideal, offering both seclusion and a quick drive down the driveway to the lake. The outdoor space was a highlight, with a patio and hot tub area.

Wonderful property in a quiet location in the trees. So relaxing and welcoming. Our hosts, Amanda and Dave were lovely and very helpful in suggesting great places for us to visit that suited our interests. Wished we could have stayed longer than the week we booked. No hesitation in recommending this property.

Great spot

Out of town but not too far. Quiet and relaxing. Seemed like being upstairs above the owner and having the hot tub close to their part of the house would be odd but it was fine. Very nice vibe all of the natural wood.

Immaculate tree top apartment

We have had 2 weeks touring around Vancouver Island and this was our last stop. Everything about the place has a relaxed and comfortable vibe with the added bonus of being spotlessly clean and equipped with absolutely everything you could need. This is a great location for exploring the area to the West of Victoria, but was also great for visiting Malahat and Shawnigan Lake, only 40 minutes away. It was the perfect place to round off the end of our holiday, thank you both

Beautiful spot tucked beside Matheson lake which is just a short walk away. The place was welcoming and comfortable, with everything you would need, the home had lots of style with things to check out along the driveway up to the home. Countryside Getaway

We are visiting family and wanted to get away for the weekend with our children and grandkids. This place is in the country area, which is what we love. The guest house which we stayed was perfect, beautiful decor, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils you need. There is an outside fire ring for you to build your own fire. There is also an ax there to split your own firewood as well as make your own kindling wood to start with. Beautiful views, beautiful grounds and property.

The Guest House and general property all around was charming and very well kept. There is a surprise for guests as they drive up the long gravel path to the guest property. I will not divulge it, because the surprise is fun. The kitchen was fine for cooking. There are lots of small appliances hidden away in the cupboards so be sure to check. The rooms were comfortable, and we made use of the sofa couch. There is one bathroom. The balcony chairs and table were lovey with a tranquil view. We made use of the barbeque and enjoyed drinks and conversation on the balcony. We did not have time for the hot tub, but I am sure it was lovely and they were very clear in their instructions on being sure to shower first before using. Amanda answered any questions right away and was very helpful. The property is a little isolated but in fact close to many places of interest. We visited many spots along the coast around Sooke and beyond and also picnicked and waded at the Potholes. There are many hiking places all around. The water was already a little cool for us in mid-September, but I imagine there are many good places to swim in the warmth of summer. It was enjoyable to come back to the guest house after a long day. I could tell the hosts work very hard to keep up the property but were very friendly when we met them. I loved seeing all their workshops, curious art works and antiques around the property. There is tasteful art inside as well. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

Nette Begrüßung. Saubere Wohnung, aber für unseren Geschmack mit etwas zu viel Sammelsurium an Deko ausgestattet. Das sah auf den Fotos noch anders aus. Circa 45 Minuten Fahrt nach Victoria Dowmtown.

We were part of a family gathering that included parents and four grown children. Mom and Dad were in "Cozy Cabin Getaway", while we stayed up the hill in the "Guest House". We really enjoyed the proximity of the cabin for meals and hot tubbing, but then enjoyed the fact that our accommodations were separate. We would highly recommend booking both properties. Matheson Lake Park offers hiking trails as well as swimming, and it is only a short walk away. We also went salmon fishing in Sooke, and enjoyed a fish fry down at Mom and Dad's cabin. The acreage is off the beaten path, but that just makes it more inviting. Dave and Amanda were great, but their pups, Sidney and Buddy were even greater. We highly recommend the property(ies).
