We had a great time and enjoyed staying at this property. The owner was very helpful with suggesting places for us to visit and provided all the necessities. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you for your hospitality.
Very nice small house with great outdoors with a direct view of Buzzards Bay. Access to the water is a very short walk. Relaxing in the hammock is a wonderful respite from city life.
Our family of four stayed at this charming cottage for two weeks in July. The cottage had everything we needed, was clean upon our arrival, was nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The check in process was easy and the communication with our host Greg was great. He was very responsive. The location was perfect for us. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, offering beautiful water views and convenient beach access. It is located a short drive from several area amenities. We also utilized nearby hiking trails and biked along the canal. It was an ideal getaway for us; the perfect mix of relaxation and activity.
This cozy cottage is in a quiet, beautiful and picturesque little waterfront village. My husband, our yellow lab and myself enjoyed watching the sunset from the table in the back yard. The location was perfect for day trips to Marthaâs Vineyard, Falmouth and Woods Hole. There are lots of little trails near by. The Lobster Trap restaurant nearby was great for take out. Furniture in the cottage was well maintained and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our dog Willow would have stayed for life had we let her. Thank you for sharing your little slice of the Cape with us.
We just returned home from a wonderful stay in this charming beach cottage. The cottage is very clean, and the owner definitely knows how to make guests feel at home. Our 4 year old son had the time of his life at the private beach (3 minute walk) trying to catch crabs and little fish. It was very convenient not to have to pack up the car and drive to a beach. The location was perfect for us. We took our son to the Cape Cod Children's Museum (15 minutes away) and to Edaville Family Theme Park (30 minutes away). There are a few restaurants nearby.. and Falmouth is only 20 minutes away. The water view from the backyard and picture window is very relaxing, and the neighborhood is quiet and filled with friendly people. We definitely recommend staying here, and we hope to return!
Charming cottage with lovely water view. Queen bed and set of twins were as comfy as they were pretty. Did not choose to cook, but tiny kitchen was sufficient for those who might choose to do so. The home was impeccably maintained. Met nice neighbors during our walks. Location great for exploring.
Thanks!
The location is near beach. The cottage is small but we have 4 adults and still feel conformable. The lightbulb of bathroom went out when we were there. The host can get someone to fix within 10 mins
We were lucky enough to book this stay for most of the summer and it was a dream stay, the house was the perfect size for us and had all of the comforts of home in a much quieter neighborhood. If you look at the pictures before booking there will be no surprises, the bathroom is a tight fit! That's the closest I can come to a complaint, Greg was an exceptional host and very communicative. Next time there's a job on the Cape, I know exactly where my first choice will be. Thanks, Greg!
We could not have had a more perfect long term rental experience during our stay here. The owners are lovely individuals who are very responsive and helpful, but keep privacy in mind as well.
The adorable house looks exactly like the pictures and it was perfect for us. You are close to so much on the Cape, which we had so much fun exploring, but also have your own little private beach to relax and swim in. The neighborhood is full of really nice people and amazing sunsets along the beach and seen from the house.
We were so fortunate to find this and can't wait to come back!
Beautiful home, perfectly relaxing, great host communication
This was exactly what we were looking for, an easy, great getaway from the craziness of living in the city. The views, the home, and the host were fantastic. We couldn't have asked for me.
The cottage is small, bathroom is tiny, decoration is fanatstic beach style and personal. Perfect outdoor shower and good gas grill. Super-clean and everything works. Very hospitable reception by our host, made us feel most welcome.
From the cottage it is a three-minute walk (through the neighborâs garden đ) to the pebbly beach. At high tide you can swim, at all other you can just enjoy the water - and probably walk across the bay!
The atmosphere of Tahanto is very relaxed, you could imagine just watchting the tides change all day long, the view is never the same. It is a small neighborhood, with friendly people, the beach is theirs, so it is always quiet.
The garden is shady with trees, there are no fences, the lawn just rolls into the next one, which feels very friendly (but not totally private); we loved that feel. There are mosquitos, so spray well!
The coast road on this side of Cape Cod is very scenic, nice restaurants both ways. Closest store in Gray Gables.
Property is listed as beachfront but itâs definitely not an easily accessible beach nice for swimming. Garden is tiny with weird property line & we werenât quite sure if we were trespassing despite us trying to be very respectful of neighbors very close by. Bathroom was impossible to get undressed- unreasonably small.
Positively- Greg was very responsive, allowing our medium size dogs. Still a restful vacation which we wanted. Great location to explore Cape Cod.
I love this cottage! It is our second stay here and my son and I had a wonderful time. Thank you so much Greg for making us feel welcome and providing us a beautiful home away from home!
We loved our week at this cottage. Location was great, house and grounds were immaculate, owner (Greg) was very accessible and accommodating, grill worked perfectly, and neighbors were friendly. Perfect for a small family and great location for day trips to other parts of the cape. Three minute walk to a private little beach that the cottage overlooks which our two year old daughter loved. We usually had it all to ourselves. We were very sad to leave but felt truly relaxed.
This was our first trip to the Cape and loved staying at Greg's cottage. It has a beautiful view in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to great restaurants, shops and towns. The bathroom is really small but the cottage was very clean, cozy, and comfortable for us. Greg was very easy to communicate with and he provided a notebook with things pertinent to the area. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome basket and other amenities that were provided. Towels, bedding, blankets were plentiful along with a well stocked kitchen.
Very clean. Very well equipped. Love the location. Very responsive owner. The bathroom is very, very small. Property does not have direct beachfront property lines. In the photo, the property line ends and there is another homeâs property between you and the beach. Very short walk down the road and through to the beach though. Description indicates oceanfront but ocean view would be more accurate. Owner specified this before reservations were made though. Overall a great experience.
A perfect Cape cottage for a family of 4 in a wonderful neighborhood. Attention to detail in a cozy, comfortable space made for a wonderful Memorial Day long weekend.
This is our second year staying at this adorable cottage. The cottage was impeccably clean, well stocked and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors very friendly. You are walking distance to a shell filled beach and the evening sunsets are beautiful. My husband and I would recommend Gregâs cottage for anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation.
Modern cape decor cottage, bright, clean and comfortable.
This cape cottage is meticulously clean and convenient. Amenities such as beach towels and bedding provided. Air conditioning is excellent and quiet, maintaining cool temperature in all rooms. Beautiful view and quiet neighborhood. Very relaxing and comfortable.
This cottage was just lovely , and Greg was so helpful in insuring we had everything we needed
The bedrooms were perfect , as were those upstairs
I personally loved the outdoor shower and all the towels that were provided
Such a quaint and comfortable cottage to enjoy your views of the water and relax
Beautiful walks thru the community along the water were again just perfect
Best cottage !!
Christine
We had a wonderful time staying at this cottage. It was well equipped including bedding and towels unlike many of the rentals in the area. The location allowed us easy accessibility to other areas on the Cape we wanted to explore. It was only a twenty minute drive to the ferry landing for Marthaâs Vineyard. We enjoyed walks on the beach in the evenings, and several of the local restaurants are fantastic! Greg checked in on us to make sure everything was going well and to help in any way. Our first trip to Cape Cod was wonderful and if we ever make it back we would definitely stay here again!
We stayed 7 nights in early June of 2018. We were looking for a place with a beach cottage feel and we were not disappointed. The cottage was clean, well decorated, and the kitchen is well stocked with all the appliances, pots & pans, utensils, plates, silverware, etc. that you would need. That includes, Kuerig coffee maker, a griddle, waffle maker and a lobster pot. (We heated water for our lobster inside, and then brought the pot outside to the gas grill and cooked them out there.)
Greg, the owner, had everything we needed to know very well mapped out and provided us with plenty of info. for shopping, restaurants and other local activities. He was very friendly and professional in every aspect of our stay.
There were a few cons to the cottage: The mattress in the master has a sag in the middle, causing my wife and I to both roll toward the center of the bed; it wasn't the worst for sleeping. Upstairs, one of the mattresses was not comfortable for my daughter (twin bed closest to middle of upstairs). Both cases, not a deal breaker by any means. Another con is the size of the bathroom; it's just small! They made good use of the space they had to work with, it just gets tight. The shower is plenty roomy, and the bathroom itself is updated and clean.
The cons noted would not keep us from returning to this cottage again. There was so much to like about our stay that those issues were easily overcome. As I try to find the words to help others get a feel for this place, I think it comes down to everything was clean and pleasant, had a nice view of Buzzards Bay that we spent hours staring at from either the living room window or from the back yard (outdoor table, chairs & umbrella!) The beach is easily accessed with a short walk down the road. Beach is fairly rocky, but you can find sandy areas if you look around at low tide.
It wouldn't let me do half stars; otherwise I would have given it a 4 1/2 rating!
We've lived in the greater Boston area for 20 years. My wife and I have enjoyed Cape Cod for most of our lives. We recently purchased this charming cottage overlooking a private beach and protected bay. It is the perfect place for our family and our children love the area.
We love this location given the beautiful view and sunsets. The private beach just steps away is accessible by a one-of-a-kind tiny footbridge. We love strolling the beach and walking to the point of the stone jetty at the mouth of the Pocasset River to watch the boats come and go. It is also a terrific fishing location to catch a stripped bass. The cottage has a beautiful backyard and lawn and is set up on a bluff overlooking the beach and bay. You can also go quaohoging (clamming) at low tide in the shallows right off the beach. There are many fun water-related activities you can enjoy while staying at this serene location.
The beach is the perfect place to launch kayaks, pull up a boat for a day trip, or just relax with your feet in the water. You can also enjoy the sun in the backyard reading a book or sipping a glass of wine taking in the gorgeous view. The private association is filled with families and you are sure to get many a friendly smile as you stroll Tahanto Road along the water.
