River View Cabin - Meredith Lodging

Getaway with your sweetheart for a weekend or a week to the River View Cabin in Welches, one of our most popular romantic cabins. The sun-filled vaulted great room is warm and cozy for snuggling on the sofa with the wood-burning fireplace and the knotty pine interior accents. Take in sweeping Sandy River and mountain views from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the great room and from the private hot tub. This secluded view setting is perfect for your special getaway to Mt Hood.

Prepare a special dinner in the newly-remodeled, fully-equipped kitchen or grill steaks on the gas BBQ. Then take a relaxing evening soak in the private hot tub surrounded by tall trees and serenaded by the sounds of the flowing Sandy River.

The River View Cabin sleeps up to 4 guests with two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed and one full bathroom with walk-in shower across the hall.

You will be in a quiet, secluded setting at the River View Cabin and just minutes to Mt Hood recreation like hiking, biking and skiing as well as the grocery store and restaurants. You will be 3/10 mile from the Twin Cedars Getaway for larger groups.

The queen bedroom had an absolutely unbearable smell when we first checked into the house and brought in our luggage. It reeked of rotten eggs, and at first we feared it might be a dangerous gas leak (thanks google). After an inspection, it turned out to be sewage, honestly, I’m not sure which is worse. We couldn’t sleep properly, and our stay was ruined.The owner did send someone to check after we reached out, but the problem persisted. The odor came from outside the window, where a capped sewage pipe is located, making the bedroom completely unusable. For the cost of this rental, it’s disgusting that a portion of the house is uninhabitable. This needs to be fixed before more guests stay here. It would also be nice to hear back from the management company, which is currently falling short of basic standards.That said, the house itself is beautiful, the location is great, the deck overlooking the river is incredible, and the appliances are top-notch, even including a bidet.

Serenely beautiful cabin on the river. The deck was huge and we enjoyed grilling our dinners a couple nights with the sound of the stream as our dinner music.The management company was responsive and helpful.The location was perfect for beautiful day hikes without having to travel very far.

Quiet, private, and beautiful

We had a lovely and tranquil stay. The river is beautiful and the hot tub is so hot and has great jets! You can't see the neighbors hardly at all, so it feels private. The primary bed is very comfortable, thought the smaller bed in the second room is slightly less comfy. The bidet toilet was fun :) Very nice shower and the wood throughout the home made a lovely clean, modern, and woodsy ambiance. We would come back! Photos are very accurate :)

Worth the view

Stunning views from the deck made for the perfect last minute get-away. Location feels remote, and just sitting on the deck was amazing. Amenities were solid with fireplace (initial bundle provided) and hot tub. Updated bathroom also really nice with rain shower. Perfect 2BR place

Great Home with Incredible View

Stayed at the house for a weekend getaway and it was perfect. The amenities were amazing (fireplace, hot tub, smart TV, heated bedroom floor, even a smart toilet!) and the views were incredible. Opening the doors (which come with directions on the kitchen counter) and hearing the river rushing by was really relaxing. Go down the street to the ZigZag Inn for some food then come back and kick up your feet. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a very nicely appointed cabin with a lovely open layout. We absolutely loved the view. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Only cons were a few maintenance item. (I.e. hot tub cover lift broken making it difficult open/close).

Lovely cabin, right on the river

Lovely Cabin, right on the river bluff with marvelous sounds of river below and good breezes on the ample deck, convenient outdoor table and grill, good outdoor seating, private quiet neighborhood, easy parking for loading and unloading. Hot tub looked inviting but we didn't use it. Some difficulty with check in code was efficiently managed by call to the manager. Good ceiling fan, AC worked well and kitchen was well equipped. Overall pleasant stay.

Awesome spot, listing undersells it

This is a fantastic little cabin with an incredible perch over the river and excellent attention to detail in the cabin. Everything was very clean, the toilet is an awesome robot, the appliances are new and spotless, there are several great spots to hang inside and outside, the hot tub is big and a snap to use, and the big bay doors to the patio are SPECTACULAR. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely amazing - beautiful river view, rejuvenating jacuzzi, peaceful joy. The main road was a block away, but this home felt secluded and serene. The home was also immaculate and cozy - it was hard to leave.

Amazing place to recharge

We really enjoyed our time at the river view cabin. As other reviewers mention, this place is amazing. We were genuinely sad to leave. The sound of the river was so peaceful. Whether sitting outsite on the patio, or on the comfy couch with the patio doors open, it was great. Definitely a special place that provided the perfect conditions serenity and relaxation.

Nice home with top shelf amenities. Need more silverware and something had been spilled in the oven by previous visitors sending smoke throughout the home and setting off smoke alarm. Very comfortable beds and love the large screen doors!

Absolutely the best!

Could not have picked a safer feeling and now relaxing vacation! Was a surprise location for my husband♡ we had the best time there so much he didn't want to leave. Everything was very nicely updated and kept♡ I cooked a ton and had all utensils I needed. It was prefect!!! Would return in a heartbeat!! **We used up all the firewood just wanted to thank you for providing we absolutely love a nighttime fire was our favorite touch with the open doors!! *Note there is a screen to the doors we found it on the second day but an extra little obvious sign might have been great. 😉 Thank you for a wonderful anniversary get away!!

Absolutely perfect.

Home has been beautifully remodeled. The highlight was the accordion sliding doors so the river noise filled the house. Would not advice having young children here. There is a very dangerous drop off to the river. Felt very safe for adults, but would be wary of bringing littles or dogs along.
