Prepare for a restful stay in quiet Neskowin at the Beach Captain, a recently remodeled condo located at Proposal Rock Inn and situated on the bank of Hawk Creek and steps from the Hawk Creek CafĂ©, Neskowin’s favorite spot for dining. This unit is on the ground floor and has wheelchair parking and access within 20 feet of the unit. The contemporary furnishings and amenity-filled space will bring you everything you need for a comfortable stay, and you’ll love lounging on the creek-side deck watching birds and the tide come and go. A sneak peek at the ocean, Pacific breezes, and gorgeous light make this a wonderful place to relax. The living room features a large flat-screen TV and fireplace, plus a bistro table for enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. A dining table and a fully equipped kitchen give you plenty of dining options. A Murphy bed folds up into the wall for extra guest quarters, and a bedroom with a TV, assures privacy. Two full bathrooms make Beach Captain an easy spot to vacation with another couple. You’ll be close to a general store and deli, the CafĂ©, a golf course, and a path along the creek to the splendid beach at Neskowin, punctuated by the tree-bedecked Proposal Rock. I loved the unit. The view is great out and about is very easy. Our dog was allowed. He had a blast on the beach. He found the fireplace one of the best things about the unit. We all enjoyed it. The kitchen was nice. BUT We could not eat in the unit. It seems that there was a hatch of fruit flies. We tried Merideth they have never been nelpful and they did not ket us down. They plain out told us when you leave We will send someone in. So bringvthe Raid and enjoy. If your young the tv will be easy. Oldsters not so much bir do able. Coffee pot is full size. Both beds small but doable. The click style bed was good sitting. We neverb7sed it. Now it will sleep 6 but it will be tight and only 4 moveable chairs at the table. We chose it for WoIf Creek meeting the Ocean. NOT DISAPPOINTED

This was a slightly different type of condo. Looks like a hotel turned condo. I liked that it was so close to the beach although only partial view. Still, the trail was great as was the restaurant.

Condo was clean, it had a dog bowl for our dog and beds were comfy. I wish I would have found the water hose/sprayer by the BBQ sooner to spray off sand from our granddaughter before coming into the condo. We only heard the neighbors a couple of times and liked being on the first floor.

Check-in had a snag but customer service responded immediately. Enjoyed the stay but was not aware of that the bridge to the beach is not part of our side of the building and we had to walk to the restaurant and there is another path to the beach which was not working for my mother at all. Too bad.

Ok, kind of disappointing

The whole experience was kind of disappointing. You couldn't check-in until 4 p.m. exactly, we were in town a little early so called to see if room was ready and if so could we check in early. Apparently, there is a 50 early check in fee, so we found things to do until 4. When we pulled in, they were painting the exterior of the building that we were staying in! We unloaded our vehicle as quickly as we could (not easy with 80 yr old family member!) so we could park further away and wouldn't get the light-colored paint all over our dark-colored rental car. The room was clean but not very comfortable. The couch wasn't comfortable to sit on or sleep on, the murphy bed and the main bed in the bedroom were not comfortable to sleep on either. The recliner was the only comfortable place to sit or sleep. The dishwasher was very noisy so you couldn't run it when you were in the room to watch TV. Overall, it was a disappointing stay especially for the price. I don't think we will be back.

The stay was just meh.

There was nothing that stood out as extraordinary nor was there anything that was remarkably bad. We liked the location - plus. We could hear the next door neighbor snoring through the thin walls - minus. The final analysis: early check out and headed home.

Just what was needed

Second time staying here. Peaceful and relaxing. Room is very large and kitchen has pretty much anything you need. Really enjoy the area. Will come back.

Not cleaned

I arrived at my rental opened the door and was met with dirty piled up sheets on bed, dirty wet towels on floor in bathrooms. Dirty floor. I called the man told me he’d call me back. After a half an hour sitting outside in my car with no call back. I called again. The women who answered said I needed to text photos of the mess. I did, but she gave me the wrong number. I wondered why she didn’t believe me. Finally someone texted me from another number and said a crew was coming. They showed up an hour later. I sat in the cold waiting with my puppy. Finally after 6 pm they were done. It was a horrible experience. They refunded me 50.00. While I was there they cleaned the carpets outside my door with weird chemical odors. It was horrible. Then the dishwasher seal was broken and the settings were broken and I had to piece it together. I will not rent from Meredith again.

Great 1st visit to the coast

My husband and I brought our 4 kids to enjoy the Oregon coast and we really loved staying in Neskowin with such quick access to the beach. We probably walked out there a dozen times in just the week we were there. The couch bed worked fine for my 2 youngest to share, but if they were much bigger, it may have been uncomfortable, just as a caution to any other parties of 6 that need to fit.

Cozy Beach Home

Loved my stay here. Clean, and location was fantastic in terms of beach access. Lots of games and books available. Lincoln City is fairly close for groceries too. Restaurant and classy convenience store with limited hours right next door. I couldnt get a cell signal in the room (only on the porch) and no internet in the apartment. They said it was available at the resort, but not sure where that meant. I would definitely stay here again though. Thanks!
