The property was exactly what we were looking for. It was quiet, relaxing, and nature was abundant as we saw so many black bears come onto the property. Beautiful views of the sky at night. The roads up are a little sketchy but we took our time and got around safely.
Property & Home was amazing! Host was excellent & accommodating! Everything we imagined & more. Only wish weâd known about the extremely mountainous roads w no guardrails.
We loved staying in your Chalet for our spring break trip. It was spacious and comfortable for our family. All amenities we needed were available and the pool table was a big hit with our 15 year old twins. The highlight of our stay was seeing a bear and her 3 cubs come down the mountain and across the stream.
Property was okay. Lacked some basic essentials in the kitchen (pot holders, baking dish) but overall was nice stay. Had awful aroma of the fire place that at times would get worse. (Didnt use bc its summer time) did have bears visit our 1st couple of days which we thoroughly enjoyed!
This home is absolutely beautiful and in a even more beautiful location. The host kept in touch with us during our visit. Home was clean, and it is described accurately in the listing. We were even visited by the neighborhood baby bears. I definitely recommend this home if you want a beautiful, clean, spacious place to stay!
We had a wonderful 5 nights at this cabin! We met family from out of town and thoroughly enjoyed the quaint and quiet neighborhood! The drive up the mountain is fun and very hilly! And we got to see so many bears while staying here! Lock your cars!
The hot tub was so relaxing after walking all day in town! Beds are comfortable and having laundry is wonderful!
We will be back for sure!
We had a great time đ The property is clean and the chalet looks amazing esp on the inside. Everything is clean, organized and well thought off. It has a great Kitchen that we love cooking for Breakfast located on the 2nd floor where everyone can socialize clise to the billiard table. 5-8 min to Downtown Gatlinburg, Location is great. I love that the masters bedroom has its own bathroom. Would definitely recommend and maybe stay longer next time
This was first time at this property. Owner was great to communicate with and did so promptly. You are away from the noise to relax and lots to do at the residence, but close enough any activities including downtown Gatlinburg in 10 minutes, Pigeon Forge 15-20 minutes away. Amenities were great. Pools were an easy drive to get to and very nice. Would recommend this to families especially with older kids and teens. Also if you donât want to get out Doordash delivers. Very handy!
Loved this property! It was a super short drive to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober, and still fairly quick to get to Pigeon Forge, yet it was far enough from the chaos of Gatlinburg to be quiet and restful. It was convenient enough that we could go back to the chalet for breaks during the day. My family really enjoyed having a pool table and separate bedrooms.
The space was clean and comfortable. If you plan to do much cooking I do recommend bringing a few of your own basic cookware. Pots and pans are provided, but like most rental properties guests are rough on them so it is nice to have backup.
Steve was great with sending details of the property as well as local activities.
The home was a great space and was as described. The family loved the pool table. It was a great addition to the house.
The only downside was the mattress in the master bedroom was bad and there was a significant amount of mold in the shower in the master bedroom. It was pretty bad.
Thanks
We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy chalet. You can tell the owners take good care of it. The downstairs has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They are dated and the bedding looked dated, but overall everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would suggest updating the bedding. Maybe have extra pillows on the beds too. More towels in the bathroom would have been useful for the nights you want to jump in the spa. The upstairs has the living areas, kitchen and extra bathroom. We loved hanging out up there! Everything was so nice and comfortable. Thank you for providing games to play and books to read. We all really enjoyed them! Overall we loved our vacation and would definitely stay here again.
Had excellent weekend with grandkids and great skiing
The house was perfect for our family. The bedrooms were downstairs and easily accessible from car parking area. The upstairs was all open with great views. The fireplace was fantastic. We all enjoyed roasting marshmallows and listening to the fire crackle. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The grandchildren were excited about the hot tub and the pool table. We noticed an issue with the hot tub when we checked in. We called Steve, the owner. Our plan was to ski at OberGatlinburg on Saturday and enjoy the hot tub later. When we returned to the house after skiing Steve already had the hot tub fixed!! The home was warm and we appreciated the comfortable feel of the rental. Our family fit right in and enjoyed our weekend together.
First I want to start with the positives. Steve is an excellent host. His communication is better than any house weâve ever stayed at. The location is perfect! Close to Gatlinburg but secluded and quiet, nestled in the mountains. There is a house next door but we barely saw the people who stayed there. Coffee on the upstairs deck every morning was a highlight. And we saw bearsâŠa mama and her 3 cubs. I do think there is some room for improvement here. We stayed in August. The humidity level downstairs in the bedrooms was awful! And thereâs only 1 small dehumidifier, which we ran non-stop. It didnât help. All of our clothes smelled musty when we unpacked at home. There are a lot of appliances in the kitchen, but not enough pots and pans. I struggled to cook dinner for 3 people. And the pots and pans that were there desperately needed replaced. I understand that this is a rental and people donât take care of pots and pans at a rental, but this should be taken into account. Also, the fireplace smell upstairs is pretty intense. It seems like it needs cleaned out. This place has a lot of potential but needs some TLC.
To future renters of Cedarbrook Chalet, please be aware in advance of VERY HEAVY BEAR ACTIVITY! We did not receive advance warning until the first morning of our stay when we received an email stating this fact. There were bears everywhere, at the Club pool on S. Baden and even in fact on our deck by the hot tub . We arrived on 6-2-23 and were supposed to stay till 6-8-23 however after several close ( within 20 feet ) encounters I have pictures and videos of one tried unsuccessfully to get into our truck cab. We called the landlord and told him then it happened on Wednesday morning we got up and saw a mother bear and 3 cubs and the mother had ripped oour truck tonneau trying to gain entry, again we called and reported it to the landlord and informed him we were leaving 3 days early, we never ask for any payment for damages because that's what our insurance is for however we did ask for the 3 day refund which he flatly refused!!! We did not follow every departure step as we very hurriedly gathered our things and left before the bear could do more damages. The Chalet itself was fine but take a warning In Advance, keep an eye on your children and property as it's on you.
We were very disappointed in the cabin. When we arrived, housekeeping was still there. We had to leave and return an hour past check in time. When we walked into the cabin the musty smell was overwhelming so much to the point that my son with asthma immediatly had issues. I contacted the owner and expressed my concern. He was polite enought to offer me a full refund if we could locate another rental, unfortunatley we could not. We had to have our son sleep upstairs where the smell wasn't as bad.
The linens were very damp from the humidity and I had to wash everything before we felt we could sleep. Housekeeping was not thorough; trash under living room furning, hot tub dirty. We contacted the owner again and someone was supposed to come and service the hottub but they never showe. We never used the hot tub.
I had to wash the towels daily as well, we were only given 4 of each for a family of 5.
The owner reimbursed us for 1/2 of our stay.
Updates downstairs needed along with resolving the humidity/musty smell downstairs.
Wonderful place and had some good views. The host was very accommodating and I thank him for it. We did see some wildlife there. I will use this place in the near future again.
It is in the most perfect spot to everything. It was very clean. We enjoyed everything about it. Steve is really great with communication it was seriously one of the easiest check in and check out places Iâve stayed in. Ski Mountain pizza was extremely good and they are very friendly. It was right down the road.
The owner was very accommodating for our group. The home was immaculate when we arrived and very comfortable. The owner provided everything we needed for a week long vacation. The only downside was how steep the driveway is, my SUV barely made it up it. That was no fault of the owners though, I needed new tires and I didn't know that prior. Beautiful scenery.
We were looking for a place in the mountains where we had access to leisurely recreation and enjoy where we were staying. Chalet Village fit the bill. Minutes from Gatlinburg's downtown and a great house, we enjoyed the long weekend even with rain in the forecast.
This property was perfect for my families get together. The bedrooms were spacious and the house was accommodating. The highlight of our trip was all the daily visits from the bears. It was a perfect birthday week. Thank you so much.
Hi, I'm Steve Baker, the owner of Cedarbrook. I was born in New Jersey, but have discovered there's no place like East Tennessee. I am on the road quite often, but can always count on great R&R every time I can visit this chalet in the Smoky Mountains.
I have discovered that Gatlinburg is one of the most unique places I have ever been. It borders the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And it exhibits a mountain character that is preserved in time. My chalet is located on a mountainside in the city limits called Chalet Village. This village contains hundreds of unique chalets and log homes. Every home is unique in its design. This has been the perfect area to own a home
The biggest benefit is the incredible peace and serenity of sitting on the deck and listening to the stream next to the chalet and looking out over the beautiful mountainside scenery. Perhaps the biggest thrill is watching bears that often stroll along the road and along the creek beds.
