The Oldest Cabin in Gatlinburg – 6-minute walk to Downtown and Parkway and 1-mile from National Park

Old Gatlinburg Inn, formerly known as Aunt Nina’s Cabin, was built in 1940 and served as a cozy inn for many years. Constructed with now extinct chestnut logs, this rustic cabin has all the charming authenticity for your mountain escape. This cabin has been beautifully restored with new flooring, windows, lighting, appliances, and furnishings. You will enjoy the entire space alongside the sound of nearby church bells and babbling brook. Easy access to downtown Gatlinburg and the Parkway with a short 14-minute drive to downtown Pigeon Forge.

Bathroom 1: This full bathroom on the main floor has a large standup shower and is located off the main living area.

Walking distance to town

Our family had a great stay in the cabin. It is a little quirky in its set up but we like staying at unique properties. It was nice to be able to walk into town. Gatlinburg can be very busy so it was nice to avoid looking for parking.

What a great stay!

It worked perfectly for our needs. Location is very convenient walk to the strip. Zach was always attentive and answered questions promptly. Interesting to find out it was one of the few in the area that did not burn down in 2016.

Cozy Cabin in a Great Location

We stayed here for a girls’ trip including 6 adults with three children under 4. The beds/bedrooms worked great for this. Just a short walk to the downtown area made it very convenient. Owner was very quick in responding to messages.

History and charm

Small, but charming and cozy. Perfect set up for those traveling with a multi family group or young adults who need independent spaces. Our adult children were able to come and go from the bottom floor without disturbing their younger siblings upstairs. This allowed everyone to set their own schedules and enjoy different activities but still be together for family time when we wanted. Parking was a little difficult for three vehicles, but not impossible. We could walk to the parkway or there is a trolley stop a block away to visit Pigeon Forge or the Glades. We saw several bears at night lurking around, but the walk ways were well lit and trash was at the end of the driveway so they kept a distance.

Perfect Location

This cabin was perfect for our family weekend getaway. We didn’t have to get back into the car until we left for home. Everything was walking distance or the trolley was a great option to get around town. The cabin was clean and the beds are very comfortable. We will definitely remember this cabin for future trips here.

March rental

First time in TN and this place was perfect to fit our group. The heat had a little issues but didnt hurt the overall quality of the rental. We were able to cook, work from the rental (good internet) and have a great first time in TN close to all our tournament events. The porch view is amazing and we had a great time with more than 1 family in it. Super relaxing cabin.

Cozy Cabin

The propery overall is nice. It is in a great location near town, with only a short walk to the main shopping area. The beds were comfortable and the host was very responsive and attentive to our needs. Small issue with the HVAC unit, but it was quickly resolved. The unit is cozy and easily sleeps 8, but a little bit more seating in the house and out on the porch would have been nice for larger groups. But i understand the space won’t allow for it. Overall nice cabin with a great location.

Cozy, clean & quiet

Quiet area, yet close to the parkway. It's on a hill but, we're walkers - you can drive & park at the bottom if you're not. Plenty of parking at the cabin. It was very clean, kitchen stocked, plenty of towels, comfy beds, clean washer & dryer with laundry supplies. Two floors- additional mini fridge & microwave on bottom floor. Bathroom on each floor - downstairs bath is quite small...but hey it's a cabin...upstairs bath is a bit roomier. Host was super nice, stayed in touch & made the whole process super easy. Would definitely recommend for your family.

Quaint and Convenient

This is a historic cabin near downtown. It has charm and personality and history. Keep that in mind when you book and it will be a perfect setting for you. Expect the Manhattan Four Seasons and you will do nothing but complain and ruin it. It was enough space for 6 family members - it was a nice walk to the Anakeesta section of town. We had a small issue with the AC/heat units but the owner was VERY responsive and checked in on us daily. Although a little nudge to the cleaning crew might be needed - I think they brought their B game this time - it was acceptable but not terrific. Even with the small bathrooms and sloped floor - we would stay here again - can't beat the trees and the sound of the creek from the little deck!

Enjoyable stay but important note about access situation

My husband and three young children (6, 4, 2) had a nice overall experience at this quaint little cabin, particularly considering its mountain vibe and convenience to the strip. We were disappointed, however, that the description did not prepare us for the access situation between the upper and lower floors, both of which contain two of the four bedrooms. You can only access the lower level via a porch (upper level screened and lower level actually unscreened and quite elevated from the ravine beneath), so there was no internal connection to our children on the lower level at night, which caused them and us much stress and ultimately prompted some necessary sleeping rearrangements. Had I been aware, I could have brought monitors to ease the situation, so I wish to inform other potential guests of this nonstandard layout. The beds were quite comfortable and the heating units very effective - big pluses after our full days exploring in the cold. 🐻

Family getaway

We enjoyed our family getaway at this little rustic cabin. It is quite a bit smaller than expected but enough room for my group. The walk to downtown was quite a bit further than expected. I am post knee surgery so that was my only complaint. The property manager responds quickly and is very courteous. They provided more than I expected such as garbage bags some movies, games, pantry items, laundry pods. Although, I packed all of those items and then some lol. We were not at the cabin long enough to play games or watch movies. I enjoyed being able to wash our clothing (major plus for moms). We were there doing a very high heat index at times 106 and the air conditioning downstairs went out (as I stated it was extremely HOT) so it is my belief this was not something that could be helped. It was pretty uncomfortable that last night. We would definitely stay again just be prepared to walk or pay for parking if you drive.
