This property was perfect for our group! The cottage is comfortable, clean and has everything you need. We loved the decks, game room, large dining table and the awesome fire pit. We were a short drive from the beach, which we also really enjoyed. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely return!
Beautiful, well maintained property. Large with many bedrooms. Well equipped. Good location. Owners very accessible and responded promptly. Highly recommended.
We loved that 11 of us fit with room to move around. Between the hot tub, retro arcade games, fire pit, a table long enough for epic card games and the nearby beach, we had a wonderful time. The house was clean, spacious and neighbours were friendly when we went on walks! The shops downtown are lovely. The yard has enough space to throw a football. Communication with Cindy was very easy and she was extremely responsive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the time away.
A few things as some feedback:
1) There is no "house rules" posted in the house or online. We've done a lot of these types of rentals, each one having different rules for the amentities (i.e garbage/recycling, compost, things to do in the area, fire pit regulations, locking door using keypad, bbq use etc.). Just handy to have for quick self help answers and ensuring things are done properly.
2) Hunstville does not allow day burning from 8am-6pm. This detail certainly should be posted somewhere and an accessible hose or big enough bucket should be provided. We bought our own bucket after having a fire truck show up. Thankfully we only had two small logs burning! The ad only lists to bring your own wood so we thought burning anytime was ok - we also all come from places that do not have hourly regulations.
3) There are some animal traps around the outside of the house(no big deal) and the large garbage bin is about 30 ft or less from the firepit/hot tub area - we had this awful "something definitely died" smell for the 3 days we were there. It kept wafting towards the hang out area, which was a bit unfortunate. The bin was almost full so it could be too close in proximity or the traps may need to be checked.
All in all, this is a great place and we would recommend it. Thank you for having us!
A great place to stay whether you're a single family or a large group! It was very clean and spacious, located on a nice wooded lot. The amenities are exactly as described in the listing and pictures. We were in Huntsville for the provincial archery championships, and the property had lots of beds for the 6 youth athletes, some parents and coaches. One of the best features for us was the super long dinner table, which allowed all of us to eat together, and to play games and relax in the evenings. It was the perfect place to unwind after the pressures of the tournament. The owner was very responsive and made the experience a breeze. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!
We really enjoyed the space. The rooms are spacious, kitchen is clean and well stocked!
Cindy was very responsive and helpful. We loved the cottage and it was close to a nice beach. we tried to walk there but easier to drive with little children. There are no boats or kayaks to rent though. The outside area is really nice with an amazing fire pit.
Very spacious and well equipped house. Everything was as stated, the house was very clean and in a very convenient location, close to Huntsville, right by the Hidden Valley Ski Club.
Communication with the owner was excellent, she responded right away to any question. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. It was the perfect place for our 3 families. Plenty of space, beautiful views and extremely close to the ski hill. We loved the hot tub too! We look forward to going back next year!
