It’s lovely here! Or perhaps you are more of a, this place is awesome person? No matter how you put it, Zeeplace is a lovely, recently upgraded home in Timberline Mountain’s Northface community. It’s a very short walk to Salamander, the very popular 2-mile ski trail. Don’t mess with loading the gear and the kids. Zeeplace makes family ski trips so much easier! Nestled on the rocks high on the hill, Zeeplace sits beside a mountain stream. Year-round enjoy the tranquil songs the babbling brook provides. Relax on the deck, beverage in hand, and soak in all the nature you can! Enjoy evenings by the fire and friendly meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. In every season hikers will love the proximity to hiking trails and the infamous Dolly Sods. It is a short drive to Blackwater Falls, Davis, Thomas, and all things Tucker County! Winter visits will require 4-wheel drive vehicles and possibly chains too. No exceptions!

Quaint home that our group enjoyed with use of the large fireplace, nice hot tub, and a 30 yard walk to the green Salamander run and kitchen was well stocked.

Wonderful Fall Weekend getaway

Stayed with another couple and the house was perfect, very clean, well stocked kitchen. Beautiful area, Davis is a cute little town with shops and restaurants, would highly recommend.

Great place for family ski weekend

Great spot at Timberline. Easy walking distance to the slopes, which was a huge plus. The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the wood-burning fireplace and how well equipped the kitchen and living areas were. Would definitely stay here again.

Pure Tranquility

We loved our stay here. The house was just lovely and met all our needs. Purely tranquil experience. Being May we were unsure of what to expect but it was lovely, deep in the high mountains, and thankful for our Jeep! Nice drives to Blackwater Falls, Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob. Enjoyed some time in Davis and Thomas. We celebrated our 45th anniversary by revisiting Our Lady of the Pines church in Eglon, WVA, smallest church in the 48 states, where we were married !If you enjoy nature, you'll love it here!

Reviewer Comments: Zeeplace offers a perfect family-friendly layout with 2 cozy downstairs bedrooms and a charming loft master bedroom. The cabin's furnishings beautifully match the mountain setting and the kitchen is well stocked. The location is conveniently near the slopes, though there's a steep walk to the trail. Our kids loved the evening hot tub sessions. The management, Best of Cannan, was exceptionally responsive and helpful. Overall, a fantastic stay and recommended for a mountain getaway.

Only negative was the firewood was not covered it was little difficult getting fire going. The stream was relaxing. Would reccomend. 🎃

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love ZeePlace! We’ve stayed here before for an extended time like we did this year ( 4+ weeks). For us we much prefer a comfortable cabin over a house and this is what we got. No AC but we didn’t need it. Creek sounds were so soothing to sleep with and our grandson loved playing in it. Close to hiking trails and walking distance to Dolly Sods (though it’s steep). Loved the porches! We will return!

Wonderful getaway

Clean, relaxing home stay. Even though the home is within timberline resort it feels very secluded. As a bonus, You can hike to the Dolly Sods right from house.

Great hiking getaway

The pictures online looked amazing but it was even better in person. Nestled in the woods surrounded by a creek, the property was clean and had everything needed for a week long stay but felt remote. We went in end of April to backpack and hike and it was the perfect launch point into Dolly Sods and a short drive to Blackwater State Park and Seneca Rocks.

Just a short walk to slopes but a very steep walk. Heating was very noisy but we got used to it. All in all, we would recommend and we would stay again if we come back to timberline mountain.

Timberline is back!

Had a fantastic ski weekend in Canaan Valley West Virginia. Timberline was in decline a few years ago, but they are back better than ever with expert snowmaking and grooming and some of the best conditions you’ll find in the mid-Atlantic. This house was really cute and felt like a home away from home. It’s small with just three bedrooms and one bed and each room but fit our family perfectly. And the wood burning fireplace is a real treat!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It shows its age. Bathrooms could use upgrading. Electric baseboard heating barely keeps up in winter.Walk to Salamander a bit strenuous. Owners need to keep their stuff put away in the mudroom. Overpriced.

Nice house, but property management company is lacking.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the house and the location and ambiance of the stream next to the house. House was clean and had basics like linens, shampoo/soap, some spices. Condition of the driveway was poor when we arrived. It was solid ice and we had to walk down a hill very carefully in the snow on the side. I called about getting some salt and no one did anything. My son fell out front on a patch of ice. Eventually the ice melted and I was able to break most of it up. Hot tub was broken upon arrival too. I'm not sure why that wasn't checked before we arrived. I called and someone came out to look at it. I called back a a second time and mentioned getting a refund for the hot tub fee, the staff said, sure and then mentioned it again at checkout. I'm still waiting on a refund for the fee. Location of the house was by salamander trail. It was a short walk, but steep to climb onto the trail. We ended up walking through a neighbor's driveway once to get my son back to the house when he was cold. Drive down the mountain to the base was quick. Hill was very steep and I do recommend 4 wheel drive as stated. Mattresses were a little firm/old. Dishwasher was slightly broken and something made weird noises at night in the kitchen (I assume it was a heater). The tv signal would cut out intermittently and then turn back on a minute later as well.

Hi Ryan, Thank you for your review of Zeeplace. I have been in contact with the owner regarding the condition of the driveway, hoping to make some improvements once the warmer months arrive. We again, apologize for the hot tub malfunction it has since been resolved. Shentel is the cable company that has been working in putting in new lines in the area to hopefully improve the tv signal from going in and out. We do appreciate your feedback, and are constantly trying to find ways to approve the conditions of our properties.
