Hoping for a generous living area with a fireplace and plenty of family space? Perfect! Wishing for a screened in porch where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee and evening beverage? Yes indeed! Interested in a game room with enough entertainment that kids and adults will all want to hide there? Look no lovely multilevel home has it all and a little bit more. Teens and tweens will love the loft sleeping area. Everyone is sure to appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and spacious dining area that makes mealtime easy for socializing with family and friends. Eagles View provides easy access to Dolly Sods and a short drive to Davis, Thomas and Blackwater Falls. Winter guests will need to have 4-wheel drive vehicles for access to this home.

Spacious home that was great for a multi-family ski trip. The hot tub was great. The kids had fun in the game room, especially skeeball. The frigid temperatures made the upstairs bedroom too cold for the kiddos, but we had enough space to make it work. The rental company was responsive to our requests to plow the driveway.

It is a nice house an a great location. Housekeeping could have been much better. Pillowcases had hairs on them as well as the bathroom floors. Most of the games in the game room are also in need of replacing or repair. The hot tub was dirty and had a bad smell to it which was a huge disappointment since that is what I look very forward to.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we first arrived at the house, there really wasn't a great way to get into the house due to the snow and ice. I walk way cleared to the door or some Salt would have been nice. Thank goodness the driveway was cleared. The house could have been cleaned better in the main living area. Plenty of towels, blankets. Loved that there were games. House is a little outdated and wished there were TV's in the downstairs bedrooms.

Let it Snow!

Perfect place for skiing and sledding. Lots of room in the home...yet we all felt "together" with the huge family room and dining table. Very clean. Safe, gated community with 24-hour guard. We had an awesome time together.

Thanksgiving Get-Away

Eagle's View was the perfect home for our family to get together for the holiday. The home's spacious layout gave us plenty of room. Six adults and four children fit nicely with room to spare at the dinning room table. We especially loved all the natural light and the fireplace.

Not the newest lodge on the mountain, but certainly well maintained and very nice. Enjoyed our weekend stay at this place and will consider going back again. Could use some newer cooking pans in the kitchen but what they had worked out ok..

Ski weekend

The house was awesome but a few improvements could be made. We ran out of toilet paper and electric in the loft was not working correctly. The burners on the stove top were not working correctly, either. All in all, we had a nice time but someone definitely needs to do a little work on some things.

For our group, the main appeal of this area is having backdoor access to the trail network in the Dolly Sods and being able to gather together in the evening in a cozy indoor and outdoor space. From that standpoint this house was very good.Overall the house is well appointed. The sleeping arrangements were fine and the screen options for TV/movies were good. Internet was fast. The kitchen had plenty of implements for cooking large group meals and the grill worked well. However, some of the furniture is old. If you like apocalyptic Christian fiction the library options are definitely for you!BoC was able to quickly respond on Sunday PM to an issue with the hot tub, getting it back into useful condition.

The adults spent the majority of the time in the main living area, while the kids bounced between the loft area and the recreation room. The fireplace was my favorite part of the house! Nothing like the crackle of wood while watching the snow fall outside.The kitchen was well-stocked (including spices!), and it's central location made it a joy to cook while interacting with everyone. The enclosed porch would have been great during warmer months (maybe put a wood stove out there for the winter?!), and the house was decorated for the holidays. There were also plenty of extra pillows and blankets for all. Thumbs up for good quality pillows!The kids also enjoyed the sleds in the garage.The driveway is a switchback and proved difficult to maneuver with 2-3 inches of snow on the ground, so 4x4 is a must in winter! Though, they did provide several snow shovels in the garage that I should have taken advantage of.Overall, great property and great value! Thanks for the memories!

I hesitated to write this, my first negative review, decided it would be remiss of me to not inform other renters of this property/Best of Canaan. We've rented multiple properties, both nationally/internationally, never w/ the extent of these issues. Pros-house size/fireplaces/location/hot tubCons-‱Wall heater w/ soot on wall-fire hazard‱Excessively stained carpets, BR light nonfunctioning, mult. areas on walls w/primer‱1 couch broken, 1 stained, MBR ottoman stained/torn‱Flies/Asian beetle bugs dropped onto us at dinner table‱Soap from previous occupant in shower with shampoo/ black hair on wall /floor. We’re blonde and bald.‱Continuously dripping MBR shower: slow draining left MBR sink‱Toiletry bag from previous occupant still hanging in BR‱Multiple walls w/suspected dried nasal secretions, blood, dried feces in BR, unk substance wall above bed‱Microwave handle glued together, rear rt burner brokenFirst morning, spoke w/ Donna at Best of Canaan. My concerns met with disdain/annoyance. Told it was peak season; carpets not to be cleaned until April. We expect some staining, this excessive. We requested house be recleaned/light fixed/heater checked. Bugs were vacuumed, more came. Most walls cleaned. 1 hair/soap removed from shower. Light not fixed. That's it.No f/u call/text/email from anyone. Tired property needs deep cleaning/functioning furniture/appliances. Due to our poor experience, we can neither recommend this property, nor the rental agency Best of Canaan

Nice house for 10 people

The house is roomy, had everything we needed for 6 adults and 4 children. It could just use a good cleaning (silverware drawer was gross, dusty baseboards etc.) and some maintenance. 2 burners on the stove got hot making it interesting for cooking for 10. The shower in the master drips and the heaters in the other 2 bedrooms are REALLY noisy making it hard to sleep. Even though we had a great time with our children and grandchildren we won't stay again at this one.

Fantastic property in Old Timberline Canaan Valley WV

We have stayed in Canaan Valley many times and this was one of our favorite houses to date. Beautiful setting in Old Timberline. House was immaculate, had everything we needed, hot tub worked great, garage a huge plus with the cold weather and great bunk room for the kids!

Family trip

We stayed over Christmas and enjoyed skiing and hiking. Cabin is minutes from Timberline. Cabin was decorated for Christmas which was important for me and much appreciated! The cabin is a little dated with the carpet throughout, needs to be cleaned or replaced. I wish the cooking pots/pans and utensils were of better quality (not from dollar store or garage sell quality). I enjoy cooking for my family and cooking every night was a challenge. The beds were comfortable, fireplace was cozy, hot tub was wonderful after a full day. The cabin is spacious, with 6 adults and 1 teenager we had plenty of room to relax. Overall it was a wonderful week!
