Spacious, contemporary and well-styled, Black Pearl Barn is the perfect holiday getaway for 1-2 families or up to 3 couples. Located down a quiet cul-de-sac yet close to the beach, estuary and Wood Street you can easily explore the delights of Mangawhai Heads or choose to simply laze in the summer sun on the huge deck whilst watching the kids play on the large flat lawn.

A funky and fully-habitable container out-house provides additional sleeping or a blissful place to relax and unwind with your favourite book.

Black Pearl Barn is kitted out with brand new furnishings and the kitchen is setup with everything you need (and more!). A heat pump and panel heaters keep the place cosy and warm if youre looking for a winter escape, and the board games will provide hours of entertainment for the family if you have to take a rain check.

As beautiful and rare as its namesake, Black Pearl Barn is the hidden gem of Mangawhai!

NB:

- Small-medium non-shedding dogs are allowed on request but the property is not fully fenced and pets must be kept off beds and furniture at all times.

- The TV does not have Freeview so normal TV channels are not able to be viewed but it has Chromecast so you can watch Netflix, Spotify, TV On Demand, etc

Lovely stay. Super property and great check-in. Was a couple of cold nights so the sole panel heater didn't cut it to keep the chill off.

A wonderful family holiday spot. The property has all you need for a comfortable get away. Lovely private deck and garden. Lots to do in the area, beautiful beaches and close to the estuary.

A Delightful Holiday Place.

We so appreciated finding a quiet, private well appointed holiday bach tucked away on a spacious tree lined shady section. While an older house, it had everything we required, was spotlessly clean and the location for the boat ramp and beach was perfect.

We loved the location of Chris' place, so nice to be able to walk to both the estuary and the surf beach. It is a simple place, no laundry and no wifi ! which I loved. It felt like an authentic kiwi bach and the simplicity was relaxing. I also liked being on ground level.

Handy location

Nice place to stay. Positioned to easily get to lagoon, Mangawhai heads beach, town centre and the road to get up to Langs, Waipu etc. If returned to Mangawhai would want to be located there again.

Rememberance

As it said it was a lovely old bungalow had a very warm feel it was nice to be able to take the two dogs. We went there to remember my darling husband who passed away years ago but will always be in our hearts and my two lovely daughters who will never forget their Dad. It was nice being close to the estuary and the lovely walks they have there too 😊

I am sorry you found the stay boring but there is plenty to do in Mangawhai and the listing clearly states that this property does not have wifi. If an amenity is that important to you, we suggest in future it might be wise not to book a property that doesn't have it.

Genuine bach treasure

This bach had everything we required, except a washing machine & clothesline. Was so well stocked with kitchen equipment, as well as a huge supply of DVDs etc for entertainment. We were very happy with both the bach and the location. Thanks for great support service - ease of process and friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

Great Location

Great location - easy walk to estuary and Mangawhai a great place with lots on. Water pressure in shower is only a trickle, no hair dryer as listed and no washing machine. whilst this isnt listed- maybe just make it clearer in ad that there is not one in the house. Overall a great bach, clean and tidy, great out door sitting, private, and very comfy beds
