Our second time here, and once again all was delightful. Easy walk to the excellent St. Francis/McMenamin pub for any meal. Only slightly farther to downtown. Brief drive to several parks along the Deschutes, beautiful. Also splendid river view dinners at the Riverhouse Currents and the Pine Tavern, and (east end of town, not river view but still excellent) Worthy Brewery. All in all, a very fine visit to Bend.
This is a sweet, clean bungalow in a quiet old Bend neighborhood. It has a well equipped kitchen, though we did not use it. The beds and pillows are comfortable. It is clean and cute. My four star rating is really because there were a couple of issues and I felt they could have been addressed by the owner better. First, there was no heat in the dryer and this actually was a big deal because we traveled light knowing there would be a washer and dryer. But the dryer did not work because, unknown to us, the dial is not lined up with the actual functioning of the dryer. The owner was quick to respond and advised on how to make it work. But really, she should get it fixed or at least leave a note on the dryer with instructions. The other issue occurred the day before we were to leave. I was in the shower at noon and my daughter answered the door. It was the owner who said the cleaning crew was coming and we were supposed to be out by 11, check out time. I told my daughter that she had the date wrong. The owner told my daughter otherwise. So I had to jump out of the shower to find my phone and Vrbo app to prove our reservation. By the time I threw on clothes, the owner had actually looked up our reservation and discovered we had one more day. I get mistakes happen. I donât get why you donât apologize. I donât get why you donât leave instructions or fix the dial on the dryer. So, in short, great little house in quiet historic Bend neighborhood. Owner communication could be improved.
The house is in a great location and walkable to downtown. Colleen has a clean place that was perfect for the quick weekend getaway we had. We would definitely stay here again.
Happy to recommend the Historic Belle Millhouse as a great place for a couple/small family to stay in Bend. Great location to walk to many of the popular places in town, including the Hayden Homes Amphitheater, the parks and shops in downtown and the box factory and other new areas in the old mill district. The house is comfortable, and has been updated, while maintaining that classic old Bend feel. Will look for this place again when we come back to visit. Thanks Colleen!
Lovely home! It was pretty comfy for 2 adults. A little noisy from the street/neighborhood but was fine with ear plugs. Being a short walk to downtown was fabulous! Charming, bright, well appointed home with easy check in. Would love to stay here again!
This house was perfect for our stay in Bend. My husband & I were in Bend for a week with our 2 small dogs. The location was perfect - close to downtown Drake Park, restaurants, stores, etc. Bend has tons of dog friendly bars and food options too. The fenced backyard was great! The home had everything we needed to be comfortable and made a great home base. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Very comfortable and easy.
Lovely home, the most well-appointed/clean rental I've visited. If you know Bend on the weekends, it's impossible to drive downtown. This home is a perfect walking launch point. I easily walked to the amphitheater, town, and more.
This is a very sweet and comfortable bungalow, with two bedrooms (queen bed in one, single with trundle in the other) connected by the bathroom. The kitchen is bright and very well-equipped. And we were pleasantly surprised to find a washer and dryer, making our trip easier to manage. The neighborhood is very quiet. It was a ten-minute walk to the excellent McMenamin pub. The banks of the nearby Deschutes River are chockablock with parks and walkways. Our stay was in early May, when the weather was pleasant, if sometimes a tad cool. It all encouraged pleasant walking. We will very definitely hope to stay here during our next visit to Bend.
Loved the house! It's decor was awesome! The house felt like home. It was very clean. Very fun to walk around old town Bend. Definitely will want to rent again next time we are in town visiting family and friends.Thank youJackie Ramp
The house was in an easy 5 minute walk into downtown Bend! My wife, 2 friends, and myself had enough room in the house and had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Would definitely stay again!
The Belle Millhouse is a great place. Location is super - close to restaurants, grocery stores, everything one needs. Kitchen very well equipped. The host is extremely accommodating. Highly recommend.
This house is located is a quiet neighborhood so near the epicenter of Bend. The house itself is a modest but sturdy craftsman bungalow. My next favorite building is Timberline Lodge. I enjoy pine trees, fir trees, birds,, horses, dogs, quilts, craftsmanship and nature. The house also contains a Hudson's Bay Indian trading blanket, a Pendleton Blanket and a great book on collecting Indian blankets. I hope you enjoy the house and Bend.
