Soft winter light filters through the palms as you step onto the porch, the historic streets of St. Augustine quietly coming to life nearby. Mornings begin slowly here - coffee in hand, a gentle breeze moving through the garden, and the sense that everything worth seeing is just a short walk away. Even in the cooler months, the air stays mild, making it easy to enjoy both cozy interiors and time outdoors.

The Space
Sunny Side Cottage is a thoughtfully preserved 1888 home set in St. Augustine’s historic district, offering three bedrooms and two bathrooms within an easy walk of downtown and Flagler College. Original hardwood floors, vintage details, and period character define the home, while a comfortable layout supports relaxed stays for families or small groups. The living room invites you to unwind with a leather sectional, a TV, and architectural touches that reflect the home’s long history. A quiet reading nook and a dedicated workspace provide flexible areas to spread out, read, or stay connected during your stay.

Kitchen & Dining
The spacious kitchen is designed for shared meals and unhurried mornings. With full-size appliances, generous counter space, and a dining table nearby, it’s easy to settle into daily routines or gather after a day exploring the Old City. The flow between kitchen and dining areas keeps conversations going while meals come together.

Sleeping Arrangements
Each of the three bedrooms is arranged with comfort in mind, offering beds, bed linens, and storage for longer stays. The layout works well for up to six guests, whether you’re traveling as a family or with friends, while maintaining a sense of privacy throughout the home.

Bathrooms & Laundry
Two bathrooms support the home, including a bathtub, along with convenient in-home laundry facilities. These practical touches make longer visits or multi-day stays especially easy.

Location
The cottage sits just a few blocks from Flagler College, historic landmarks, shops, and restaurants, making it easy to explore on foot. Off-street parking for two vehicles adds convenience if you plan to venture beyond downtown.

Additional Details
The home offers self check-in via keypad, WiFi, air conditioning, heating, ceiling fans, and a private entrance. Dogs are welcome with pre-approval and additional fees. Long-term stays are supported, making this a comfortable choice for extended visits or remote work in one of Florida’s most historic cities.

Lovely House

We had a wonderful stay at Sunny Side Cottage; it was perfect for four adults and a child. I was initially worried about parking, but we had plenty of room with two mid-sized SUVs. The location is easily accessible, and walking to the historic portion of town was easy.

The house was a older home and inside was clean and had all we needed. The outside had a huge oak tree so the leaves were abundant, nothing a good blower couldn’t handle. We had our own parking space in the back alley which was great access to front and back of home was clear, and well lit. Was in walking distance to downtown st. Augustine. We had a great time we donated 3 stemless Wine Glasses since they only had 1, but ample martini and flute glass. Kitchen well equipped.

St Augustine visit

We enjoyed the space and location of property. The house was clean with lots of amenities. Of concern, the yard was not maintained adequately and the air vents were dirty with a brown film that looked like mold. Also, the back door was difficult to close due to the large lock box. Just a few days of maintenance would transform this property making it comparable to the cost. Truly, Leslie

Even though listed as pet-friendly, there was no sign of pets ever being in the house. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The only downside was arriving after dark and trying to locate the address with a flashlight. It would be nice for the outside lights to have been left on.

A Charmer

We absolutely loved our time in Saint Augustine and this pleasant cottage. Our favorite spot was the rockers on the screened in back porch. We sat there at some point every day. This house has great gathering areas, a spacious front room and a big table in the kitchen. It’s an old house so there are necessarily some quirks but the overall charm definitely wins out. Another plus was the proximity to the downtown area. We were able to walk to 80% of our activities. The cleanliness left a little to be desired, but not a dealbreaker. It was surface clean and we took care of the rest. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend you do.

Great cottage in a great location

We decided to see Nights of Lights the week before Christmas and booked this in July. We have never stayed at a VRBO before, but this was a great experience. St Augustine is fun to walk,so we had a safe neighborhood to walk to and from and leave our car parked. Lovely neighborhood, quiet and the old cottage was just the right size.The back porch and yard,which is fenced,is private with plants and trees. Will go back for sure, even in beach weather because its shady at the house too! There were 3 of us and we did not bring groceries or cook, but if you decide to do that,everything is there! We brought coffee,creamer and sugar for the mornings. Very comfy rooms/beds. Water good and pressure great! Just make sure you like to walk,bring good comfortable footwear! Its was a great 4 day Christmas Season getaway!

Great Trip

The house was as expected. It was clean and well stocked! The yard/garden is pretty over grown compared to the picture. We were given a code but not told we would have to enter through the back door. This is not a problem but would be nice if put in the check in instructions. There was alley parking but I have a large SUV and it was difficult to even get a compact car next to it just so you know! It was overall a very nice property!

I'm allergic, so we had to unplug them all for our stay. The central air worked fabulously, and we were very comfortable. The master tub is one that has been painted and is starting to show its wear. Even though the house is near a main road it was really quiet.
