Super close to the beach, stores, and restaurants! The condo had some nice updates in the living room and kitchen but could use some in the bathroom as well.
We had a great stay in our beach villa condo for the week. Our host was very accommodating and the unit met our needs very well. Itâs nice to see the area recovering from the hurricane. We hope to stay again. Thanks.
This was our 3rd stay in this unit and we are already planning a return next year. The view and short few steps to the beach make this a perfect spot for us.
Super easy rental process and Kim was great with communication! Thank you so much for the stress free vacation that we so desperately needed. All of us loved your gorgeous property!
Overall the stay at this property and the booking process was smooth from start to finish. The owner was very responsive, often returning emails within the hour (if not within minutes).
The property location is phenomenal, and just steps from the beach. The unit was nicely arranged, well-stocked, and clean. There are plenty of cooking supplies if you choose to eat in the condo. There are also plenty of restaurants within a few minutes of walking or driving.
Our 5 days there were terrific and I highly recommend you put this location on your travel list.
Can't play golf, use the tram, or buy food/beverages at the resort
This is a nice location, but because it was a VRBO situation we were not allowed to use most of the resort or buy food/beverages on-site. This should have been in the description.
DO NOT STAY HERE PLACE IS A HAZARD AND SO IS THE HOST
The place is under construction. Debree, porta potties, refridge in the parking lot, dumpster trucks, danger signs on doors etc. We were the only ones renting in the building. It was clearly under construction. NOTHING in the summary was noted except that the elevator wasnt working. Contacted host, completely unreasonable, misrepresented the property. Neglected to disclose residence was under construction and renovation.
Had to clean the floors upon arrival as they left our feet black on bottoms. Didnât use appliances as we ate out. Refrigerator door rusted on exterior, but inside was clean. Mold on shower head, top of wall, curtain and suprisingly the lampshades in living room were moldy! Thankfully we brought our own sheets and many towels as few are provided. Property described as two floors when there was only one. I am a physician, my wife a lawyer, we will never rent thru Kim again.
Overall this was an easy rental. There was nothing special about the unit as it felt very stale with all white walls and furniture that was a little outdated. It does have new floors in the main living room but not sold on the rest. The kitchen seemed fine but we didnât do much in there. The bathroom was dated, very small, but did the job. The shower drains very slow and I was standing in ankle deep water after a short shower. The host, Kim, was responsive before and during our stay but I had to call as I was never sent the actual address so I did not know the unit until arrival.
All in all, we chose this unit because of location. Great location and affordable so that was good for a quick trip to Captiva. The interior could stand to be updated with a personal touch to make it more inviting but I would stay again. Keep in mind that the resort and surrounding areas are still under construction so expect that these do not look like they used to.
We enjoyed first and foremost the view from the balcony. Also, we loved walking to restaurants, sto
We also liked cooking in the well equipped new kitchen. Maybe adding paper napkins would be convenient along with the papertowels.
Liked the art and soft color decor. Glass table a bit warped.
The bathroom needs renovation. Double sinks, new doors,
The bedroom, comforrable. The decor, too city like. A textured light colored bedspread instead of maroonish silk. Closet mirrored door need adjusting and the metal sliders are filthy and to be replaced.
I would suggest hooks on the BR and Bedroom doors.
We did enjoy our stay and loved the location. We walked everywhere. We would consider coming back . Your managers came promptly to replace the torn beach chairs and to address the wet furniture and the refrigerator door seal . Thank you again Kim . We loved Captiva
We have stayed in several other South Seas Plantation Condo's over the recent years, so our comments are based on comparisons. The "check in" process was somewhat stressful. The website did not provide the address to the Condo nor door code. After driving 4+ hours, it took about 45 minutes after we were suppose to check in to know the exact address and door code. Then we discovered the Dishwasher was broken, including the ice-maker in the freezer. We advised the Owner directly, but nothing was corrected during our stay ! The Tub/Shower had mold all over, as well as the Tub/Shower curtain. The Towels were very thin . . . like you would find in a cheap motel. Basically, this bathroom needs a total renovation. The only positive point was the Sunset's off the balcony. The overall condition of the Condo should be priced no higher than $ 125.00 / night !
The view was amazing and we had easy access to beach and pool. Both were well kept. There are 5 beach chairs and one good umbrella
Most beach goers were considerate. But it would be nice to have someone to settle the rowdy ones. We never felt threatened.Note: door codes donât change between rentals. I was told that will be addressed soon.
Restaurants we tried were good but hours seem rather limited. We like to cook and made most of our meals with groceries we purchased before we got to the island. The kitchen is quite well stocked with cook and serve ware. There are 2 beautiful gas grills near the pool. We were hoping to grill our fishing charter catch but the dolphins ate our keepers!!
The layout of the condo was accommodating but a little frayed around the edges. The bathroom drains are slow and the shower biting. The shower liner, face cloths and sheets and bedspreads need updating. We asked for some extra towels. The maids took care of it.
Kim (the manager) is a very busy pilot and itâs important to communicate well in advance any questions and needs.
I do appreciate the fact that the island is still in recovery from Ian but beware there were no elevators working & there is construction M-F for those who might be sensitive to that.
Iâm sure we will visit South Seas again!!
Please take the time to read this. I don't want another family to be duped as we were. We rented this unit. This resort is on the beach and has a golf course, tennis courts, fabulous restaurants, tiki bars, pools and much, much more. We were not able to use ANY of it!! You have to book through the hotel itself. Imagine to arrive here and be told you have to get off the resort to do absolutely everything! We spoke to the hotel manager and he felt terrible for us and confirmed that a few owners place the ads on VRBO and do not tell the renter any of this. The ad did not state this and neither did the fine print. We wasted our money. We called the owner directly to express our disappointment and hoped to be offered a partial refund. She was rude. When I expressed that we felt the ad was deceitful I would not be able to provide a positive review on VRBO, she responded "Bring it on, I'd love that" . Very sad that some people would take advantage of customers this way. Condo also had one roll of toilet paper and the dispensers in the shower for soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were all empty.
Weâll be back! Clean, well maintained condo on the beach! Steps from gulf and a short walk to town. Screened balcony to watch the sunset! Weâve found our new favorite spot on Captiva!
I have been coming to South Seas since my 18th Brithday. I am not going to mention how long ago that was but suffice to say that was a long time ago and I still love it!!!!
We have 9 total units in South Seas that we rent. We absolutely love this beach. The shelling is amazing. There is usually a very nice breeze and we love to sit on the screened in patio and watch the sun set. There is nothing like sitting and watching the sun set.
We love to vacation here it is very relaxing and has great sunsets.

access to beach chairs and beach towels this unit of mine is in an elevator building
I also have beach umbrellas but I do not guarantee a guest has not broken them since so many get broken without anyone letting me know. I do replace them every time I am there and check them for damages but again I do not guarantee them for your stay unless I have been there prior
