Dear all, Unfortunately, this is a retaliatory review for charging an extra cleaning fee from security deposit and enforcing our COVID rules regarding social gathering and parties. Also, We never in any circumstance, called the guests "gang bangers." (explained more below) Unfortunately During the COVID situation, the guest had more than 10 people at the property which he admitted and we do have text messaging documentation. The guests were also throwing parties which is strictly against our rules. We have nicely asked the guest to stop it multiple times but the guest did not comply even after asking more than 3 times. The New COVID-19 CITY Law strictly restricts social gathering and parties and issues fines of $10,000 to hosts and guests that throw parties and have large social gatherings. We have let the guests know about this in advance, but yet they completely disregarded any COVID safety rules and our house rules and decided to throw a birthday party. Since we do not have security staff like hotels, The only option when guests such as Jonathan completely ignore our requests and don't comply to our rules is to ask them to leave. In case guests don't agree to leave and continue to throw parties, we have to tell them we will shut off power to stop the parties and make the guests leave. We were explaining to the guest why we must enforce our rules, and Our exact quote was that there was a shooting few blocks down in another vacation rental in the area recently, and being only 1 block away from the police station, the police is watching all vacation rentals in the area closely, so we must strictly enforce our rules and not get fined $10,000. After hearing the explanation, the heavily intoxicated guest was actually the one responded by saying "don't worry we are not gangbangers" though, that was not the point nor the word that we ever said. The guests were also blasting music close to 12am and the neighbor complained, and was on the verge of calling the police for noise complaint. Furthermore, the guests spilled beer, vodka, soda and pizza all over the floor, had 10+ people with shoes spread the mess throughout the entire apartment, and had it left to dry and left the floor extremely sticky and messy. It took 3-4 mopping and extensive vacuuming to completely get them cleaned. Thus, we charged extra $70 (out of $100) in security deposit after their checkout.
