Sunny, welcoming Uptown delight!

The property was better than listed because of Joan's great communication & thoughtfulness. There was bottled & flavored sparkling water, coffee, tea and spices!!- a cook's dream; olive oil and balsamic plus awesome Brazilian coffee- it felt like home ( but a whole lot neater and great towels. ). Joan thoughtfully asked if we could manage stairs (cuz we're older) and it was lovely having a Nice upstairs view. Great location too- the green mill and Fat cat easy walks- art galleries , Montrose beach and the CTA stop super close We will be back!

Our VRBO host was AMAZING! She answered all my questions quickly and put my mind at ease as it was my first VRBO stay. The pictures in the listing were very accurate to the house. I would highly recommend staying at this location!!!!

Great for a group!

We loved the location - walkable to L stop, restaurants, parks, and the lake. House was very clean, and had lots of room to spread out with a group. Check in and out was very easy and communication with host was great!

A hidden gem

Great communication with the owner and she was very responsive. This 4 bedroom unit was everything it was advertised. Very clean and close to downtown Chicago. My grandbabies loved the playground across the street. The parking for our two cars was awesome. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay in Chicago - especially for a large family!

The hostess was very nice, warm and accommodating. Lower two levels of townhouse provide a huge amount of space for the family to spread out and enjoy solitary times as well as a large living room and kitchen for gatherings. The furniture was quite comfortable. The rooms were spotless and three bathrooms were well-stocked. There were plenty of dishes, cookware and a dishwasher as well as basic cooking supplies. The location was great - the subway is a few blocks away. Several restaurants nearby, including a great breakfast place (Breakfast House). My six year old granddaughter said she wanted to live there for good! I would highly recommend!

Joan is awesome! Truly a super host! She was very communicative, gave great detail, and we really didn’t have to worry about anything during our stay. The home was comfy, it fit our family of five adults. Overall great stay!

Great family space

This was such a great space for a family vacation. We had 3 couples and a one year old, and the living room(s) and kitchen/dining gave us more then enough space to relax and spread out. The host also provides a super cute child tent and toys for playtime. Having 2 parking spots was so helpful also. Plenty of towels in the bathrooms and kitchen was stocked with supplies. Super easy to access and communicate with the host. Would definitely recommend!

Chicago Family Stay

The two level unit was spacious, well maintained and adequately furnished. The kitchen/eating area was fully functional for the group of eight we had and was the center of a lot of our activities. The lower level bedrooms were well isolated from the upstairs activities. The location of the unit was convenient, with many stores and restaurants within walking distance.

Family reunion

Fantastic location, spacious spacious spacious home, well stocked, super-host par excellence. Our 2 dogs and 8 family members were super comfortable. Communication with Joan was an absolute breeze. Safe private parking for our 3 cars in the rear and a fenced front yard - couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you Joan.

Just what we needed and a great host!

This site was spacious and clean, situated in the Uptown area near historic music theatre area, the small Asian town with great bakeries and restaurants as well as an easy walk to Andersonville. I would be thoughtful about walking alone in the early hours (which is true in all unfamiliar places) but felt very safe during the day and evenings with many people about. The host, Joan, went above and beyond with communication and the small amenities, including enough towels, extra blankets, coffee, snacks, pancake mix and even water/soda/beer in the fridge. I would stay there again with the number of people we had but would also look for other properties managed by Joan.

This was my initial rental experience with Vrbo, and Joan exhibited remarkable professionalism and composure throughout the entire application process. Our visit to Chicago was delightful, and the comfortable beds provided an ideal refuge after an exciting day of exploring the city. In general, the trip was enjoyable, and the cozy beds offered an excellent way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Sufficient towels were provided, and the well-stocked kitchen and roomy dining area enabled communal meals. The carefully planned first floor features a family-friendly lounge, ensuring a pleasant stay. The serene train station is conveniently situated in a peaceful neighborhood. Thank you, Joan.

Spacious for the eight of us. Clean and well kept. Cute play area for kids. Host was attentive and easy to communicate with Kitchen had some standard cooking supplies: spices, oil, coffee, sugar and salt/pepper. Parking was off street, but be careful and look at photo image for parking spaces. Not well marked and easy to get wrong one. Only other thing to be aware of is temperature difference between basement and first floor. Basement bedrooms are much colder than first floor (which is usual for basements). I slept in warmer room and would have liked the colder room. Just something to know when assigning who goes where. We would stay here again.

Great Experience

This place was great and 100% as advertised. Our host couldn't have been more accommodating, from stocking the pantry with coffee and a few other things, to leaving us a thoughtful thank you gift. Just top notch. The parking is tighter than the "two spaces" suggest, which can be an issue with bigger cars, and the street is permit parking after 6. But with our host's help, we made it work, so all good. Would definitely stay there again.

Located in Uptown Neighborhood in Chicago- easily accessible by the CTA Red line Train (2 blocks walk to Lawrence subway station) and one block walk to Lawrence and Kenmore bus stop.

Uptown offers a unique blend of history and ethnic diversity. The Green Mill is a classic Jazz club that used to be a hangout spot for Al Capone, it is still popular to this day. This entertainment district is anchored by the Aragon Ballroom and Riviera Theatre which are bustling with shows through the weekend.

Argyle is one block away. If you believe in eating where the locals eat, Argyle is most certainly the place to go; this is authentic cooking, with no tourist traps to be found. Vietnamese restaurants and bakeries are the most plentiful, with various disciplines of Chinese food a respectable second, and Thai restaurants. There are even Ethiopian, Lebanese, Indian cuisine options.
