House is very well supplied with EVERYTHING you will need. Cooking supplies, toiletries, beach equipment, books, sunscreen etc. Owner was VERY responsive to any need you may have. Iâve stayed in this community several times, itâs one of my favorites in Captiva.
This was our second stay in Sunset Captiva. It definitely won't be our last. Everything about the house and its location is perfect for us. With the home office, we were able to save time by checking in and printing our boarding passes before leaving for the airport. The kitchen has everything you need if you're into cooking your meals. The bed in the master bedroom is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in away from home. And the short walk to the beach makes for great shelling, sunning, and taking in those incredible sunsets. We're already looking at next year's dates.
This was our first trip back to Captiva after Hurricane Ian and the island is coming along nicely. Sunset Captiva 40 is well maintained along with the property complex.
Mr. Adler was a great host. The home is just as described I say Home because that is what it felt like. The little village is so clean and well maintained. The pool was great as was the walkways to the beach. Just a beautiful location.
Nice sized pocket community lushly landscaped with nice community pool and direct access to beach. Easy walk to restaurants and grocery. House had everything we needed and just the right size for 4 of us. 3 full baths a big plus. Water pressure phenomenal!
Our family had a wonderful week at Sunset Captiva. This home had everything we needed to be comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked and bathrooms are all newly renovated and very Functional. It was wonderful having a full bathroom downstairs. We also really loved having the office with the couch so that people could spread out throughout the house and have a quiet spot to read. The community has really stepped up to replace plantings after hurricane Ian. The pool area is really lovely. Nice boardwalk to the beach that was a very quick walk from the house. Wonderful stay overall! Awesome post!
Great rental if you have smaller children and love to cook! The home had 2 pack-n-plays for our 5 month-old which allowed us to keep one in the first floor office for naps and the primary bedroom for night time. One less bag for us to check at the airport! The kitchen came equipped with all of the necessary kitchen tools to create a feast. Bonus: The house was also stocked with games which were enjoyed before bedtime, as well as a small library in the event of rainy weather or a day on the beach. We look forward to returning.
My son and I just spent a week in this Unit on Captiva Island. It was a last-minute booking but turned out to be a perfect choice. The unit has great space with private screened private balconies. And a king bedroom, with a master bath and a bedroom with two queens with its own bath. Since this a house rather than a condo, it is quiet! You will not notice the neighbors although they are close. The home also has a small office, so if you must do some work, you can do it in comfort. The location is perfect; at the end of Captiva Island, it has private access to miles of white sand beaches, perfect for those morning walks on the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, it has a large HEATED pool. Restaurants and shops are just a short walk away. I can find only one thing wrong with this house: We had to leave after 7 Days! Thanks for sharing your home.
Lovely property with all necessary amenities included
My family really enjoyed our stay at the Adler Familiy's Sunset Captiva property. The condo was spacious, clean, well maintained, well equipped, and we had no issues with appliances, water pressure, air conditioning etc..The property owner had an office with a computer and printer available for guest use. He also left helpful information and brochures of various restaurants, activities, and nearby shopping. The condo's proximity to the little "hub" area of Captiva is within walking distance. We rented bikes and our boys rented Vespas to tour around Captiva and neighboring Sanibel. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.
Unfortunately, we arrived (Aug 7-14) right at the worst of the dreaded Red Tide that destroyed the beaches of Captiva ( as well as most of the Gulf Coast of Florida) for most of our stay. The number of dead fish and the horrendous, toxic smell from their rotting corpses was absolutely disgusting. The municipality of Captiva Island should be ashamed of themselves for not moving fast enough and diligently enough to clean up Captiva Beach. Even though this is claimed to be a "natural disaster" (natural certainly not to this degree- human disregard for nature to blame), a great deal more could have been done to support tourists. If this was our first trip to Captiva Island and we had not known its true beauty from prior trips, we would never bother to return again. Many first timers we met were disgruntled by the lack of clean up. Given tourism is the basis for Captiva's economy, one would think a lot more could have been done to clean up the beaches.
Wonderful property in excellent location. House is stocked with amenities to make your stay more comfortable and loaded with games, which is perfect for a young family. Convenient, clean and wonderful communication from owner.
Great house, with a nice beach vibe, it has everything needed, at the house and for enjoying the beach, plus a community pool with heated water for year round enjoyment.
Great location. Very comfortable and functional beach house. Close to beach, pool, fishing, shops & restaurants. Bob was exceptionally responsive to our inquiries and worked with us on our challenging travel logistics.
We have been coming to Captiva for 20 years and always enjoy our stays in sunset captiva. The pool and beach is always wonderful and always well kept. The house we rented for the week couldn't have been better!
A beautiful place fully furnished with everything needed to relax and enjoy the sun. Very clean and kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. This is our second stay in this unit and hopefully not our last. A great place!
The house was stocked with plenty of essentials and was very clean and cool. The beach accessories and the wagon were very helpful and Bob responded quickly with any questions we had. Thank you to the Adlers
We are professionals and grandparents residing in Annapolis, Maryland. We have cherished our time on Captiva for over 40 years, and love sharing the experience with others
This property has been in our family for 40 years and we have maintained it as a very special second home, not a rental property. (see, the renters' reviews).
