not very big, really only fit 3 people comfortably. however, was very well stocked, good cookware and dishes. older appliances. owner was very responsive when vacuum and washer broke down. Loved the neighborhood. z felt very safe
We stayed in this house for two months and it was very nice and comfortable. It is close to good coffee shops and the University, just a 5-10 walk or 2 min drive. Would definitely book this house again when we return to Tucson.
Our host was very communicative and helpful considering any of our concerns. I canât imagine a better location to experience Tucson. When we did have our sons visit the two bedrooms and bathrooms ( en-suite) worked great. The place is very comfortable and for the price itâs hard to find anything that compares. Thanks again for a great stay!
We felt at home from the get go with the colorful & eclectic decor. Beds were so Very comfortable...one is even adjustable! House is very Well stocked with earth friendly personal care products, dish laundry care items & table linens.
Jennifer even brought us a new fan one hot evening.
The backyard is delightful with fragrant citrus trees & comfortable seating & dining area w/gas grill.
The place is good for long term stay near the univeristy. The house is old but has all necessary amenities. There was pest control right after i moved in and the house was relatively free of bugs. But 1 month into the stay before I left, the house had way more critters and probably needed another pest control.
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
Great host; disappointing property
Jen is friendly, responsive, and helpful: for example, we had a power outage and she brought us more than enough candles to last it through. She replied quickly to other problems. Her property is well-equipped with soaps, lotions, detergent, and other substances, and also fully supplied for cooking, sitting, and entertainment. So far so good. But the house, on a semi-alley, is very old and in bad condition. The fridge has broken pieces, and another fell off as we opened the door. The dryer handle fell off while opening the machine. Every blind under a long curtain is badly broken. The insides of the kitchen cabinets have been papered and painted so many times that it's hard to see what's clean and not. There's no light over the chipped sink, so getting pots and pans clean after dinner is difficult. All the drains have to be kept covered so roaches don't come up from the sewer. One of the showers is in such bad condition that water sprays into the bathroom. The backyard lights are burnt out or missing. The backyard seating is comfortable, but the table is rusted (the photo is old). The house is very small, which is fine, but is is so crammed with unnecessary stuff that it feels claustrophobic. We do wish we could be more positive, but this is an honest response.
We had a great time staying here. It was easy to access, clean and well stocked. My daughters loved chasing lizards around the backyard and the front patio. After we left, Jennifer told us we forgot a load of laundry in the dryer and when we came to pick it up, she had folded it for us!
Really enjoyed my time here â perfect location with easy access to everything city and country. The house feels like a home with everything I needed available.
We loved the home with Tucson historic touches. Jennifer responded to any questions immediately and took care of any problem pronto. We loved the front porch with a view of the mountain and the large, private backyard. I am a birder and was able to fill the feeder over our 2+ month stay there. Many hummingbirds came to the feeders also. The front yard is a native species oasis. Inside whatever you need for cooking, cleaning, relaxing, readingâitâs all there. She also has an extensive library of tour and hiking books. The beds and showers are great. The place is in walking distance of the UA, food venues, downtown, several parks, and Fourth Street, a lovely shopping, eating and walking area.
We were delighted with our stay. The house is easy and comfortable. It's location near the university and downtown is outstanding. Our host was responsive and helpful. We strongly recommend the property
We have stayed at countless VBRO properties and I must say - this one is at the top of the list. Not because it's this spectacular home, but because of the owner! I have never had such amazing communication. The house was perfect for our Family Weekend at UofA - walking distance from anywhere we needed to go. The house is so warm and homey... it feels like someone lives there full time. Already looking forward to next year's family weekend and our stay at the Mountain House!
I love everything about this house. The owner, location, amenities, historic feel, decor, air, and ease it puts me in. Perfect for couples or families! Pretty quiet, but close to everything downtown. The owner is lovely and attentive. Her attention to helping the environment is impressive. If I could buy this house I would! Reserve now.
This home is well equipped home with everything you could possibly need for a great stay in Tucson. We walked to the campus every day. Created a wonderful barbeque dinner on the grill and in the kitchen and hosted a birthday party for 6 people. Whether you are alone, a couple or even a family this is a FIND!
This is a very nice property in a good location with easy access to the University of Arizona and downtown Tucson. The owner has gone out of her way to make the small house have a homey feel. This was my first experience with VRBO. I was surprised that there is a $125 cleaning fee and a $119 service fee that are not included in the quoted price. Also, be sure to read the cancellation policy carefully, if your plans are not rock solid. VRBO holds a refundable sum of $1000 in case of damages. This can be waived for a fee of $59.
I'm an Arizona native dedicated to improve the sustainability of living in our precious desert home. I own Jen's Organic Home, a store at 2831 E Broadway that specializes in healthy home furnishings including sofas, mattresses, green furniture, baby items and more. I am a foodie that loves to cook everything local and eat it too. I occasionally blog about it at jenfood.com. I am also a Realtor with Long Realty Company helping current and future Tusconans find and sell homes -- an opportunity for significant positive ecological impact. Finally I have 3 rowdy boys, the most patient husband in the world, more than a dozen fruit trees and fluffy white dog who's rarely white.
I bought this home back when I was in grad school for Plant Pathology/Entomology. I love the location and the neighbors so much I don't ever want to give it up!
I love sitting on the front porch watching folks hustling off to class in the morning and strolling home peacefully at night. It's a magical mix of a quiet little street in the middle of the hustle and bustle. I look forward to you calling the Mountain House "home".
