Check-In was a little complicated as both the outside door and the inside door have codes and their automation produced an error when generating the code, but it was quickly resolved with the hosts. The house is just a few blocks from the main drag with all the restaurants and close to bike trails. The house was clean but some fixtures are visibly tarnished and there are some loose floor tiles. Not much noise besides footsteps from the apartment above. The street parking can be a little tight. Two weeks to return a security deposit is a little ridiculous.
My wife, 18 year old daughter and I stayed at this charming and roomy property and could not be more appreciative of the communication and consideration provided by the hosts. The house is located in a very cool neighborhood, walking distance to great coffee houses, and close - but not too close - to key expressways. We were taking our daughter to college and plan to stay at the property on every visit.
Great location in downtown St Petersburg! Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the Indy race! Quiet neighborhood with park nearby! Very comfortable home with all we needed for our stay!
We checked in late afternoon, walked to dinner at the Tap Room (good restaurant about three blocks), checked out in the morning and went to the Grand Prix venue downtown. Very nice property, very clean and comfortable. Would stay again if we get back to St Pete
We had a great stay! Comfortable beds, great shower, well stocked kitchen, great family room, good location in historic district. We were able to park right in front or one short block away near the beautiful park.
Wonderful old house, yes with some of the idiosyncrasies of lovely well cared for old homes, but everything worked and was absolutely lovely. Checkin and communication process was smooth and simple. Location seemed a little far from downtown, but we walked it several times, takes about 10-20min depending upon destination, and itâs such a pretty walk. Jogging in the historic northeast section and along the waterfront was very nice. At least two lovely coffee shops within a few blocks. Though the host did leave a stocked Keurig for us. We didnât cook, but the kitchen appeared stocked and easy to use, with lovely outdoor or indoor space for larger groups to eat. Overall lovely and look forward to booking again for future trips to St Pete.
Our stay was really good once we got inside. Iâm not that tech inclined so I had difficulty with the whole process of creating an account, logging in, using codes, etc. I had to rely on one of our âneighborsâ in the adjoining apartment to get codes and let us in.
It would be great if you had an emergency number for people like myself.
This property description is very misleading. It does not fit 6 adults without using a couch and an air mattress which most people do not want to do. We read in comments that couch folded out but it did not. Sleeping was very tough. Cute place and great location. May want to spray as we encountered numerous cockroaches at night. It was a bit a of a disappointment.
We stayed for 2 months and had a fabulous stay. We loved the neighborhood feeling of Round Lake. Hanging out on the front porch and grilling on the back deck were highlights. Beds had comfy foam mattresses. Spacious, lots of storage space everywhere. A definite St Pete gem. Itâs an easy walk to downtown but a bit of a hike if you have any mobility issues. Highly recommend!
The â Hey Vacayâ apartment is very spacious. Nice to have outside spaces with delightful front porch and common patio area out back. Loved the neighborhood and proximity to Round Lake.
Banyan Cottage was a perfect spot for walks, good food, close to the new Arts and Crafts museum and the Palladium. The beds were comfy, kitchen huge and well supplied, linens soft and furniture just what we needed. We loved spending time at the tables on the back deck or in the comfortable furniture on the front porch.
Great location, cozy accommodations and wonderful property
We chose this accommodation for its closeness to Beach and Central Avenue. It was a quick walk to restaurants, bars, cute shops and the water.
The flat has two extremely comfortable bedrooms with private, well equipped bathrooms. Each bathroom contains double sinks, one an oversized claw foot tub and the other has an oversized shower with dual shower heads with four separate settings. Very nice!!
The living room is comfortable, the dining room table large and accommodating, the kitchen is fully stocked with a full sized frig, stove, microwave and dishwasher. We did not use the washer/dryer but they are available.
The back patio contains tables and chairs with umbrellas, which are perfect to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The neighborhood is quiet for a restful nights sleep.
All in allâperfect and very enjoyable!! Our host checked on us several times to make sure we were happy and satisfied. Truly 5 star service.
Really enjoyed the very near downtown historic home. We rented the first floor. Nicely updated. One house away from a great park (Round Lake Park). Great wood floors, well furnished and had everything we needed. Nice outside areas. We could easily walk to commercial areas as well as the ten or so minutes to downtown waterfront. Hadn't been to downtown St Pete in awhile. It has changed. The parks, Central Ave, waterfront and the recently redone Pier are tremendous. Note that there are a lot of multi-rental unit houses in the area of this house and parking is primarily on the street. We could find a space very near house in the morning but evenings its packed and you may be a couple blocks away. Not an issue for us but worth noting. Would certainly stay again.
this is a nice unit in a great location. however, the ad says it sleeps 6 - but that is with a couch and a small blow up air mattress. Only one shower, the other is a tub. Kitchen and outside area is nice but shared. No grill even though the ad says there is one as well. And not nearly enough towels - they give you one per person. The remodeled bathroom is nice. Good place to stay for two couples or 4 people who can share rooms and bathrooms.
We enjoyed our stay at this historic house located in downtown St. Petersburg. The house is a lovely modernization of a vintage home. It has a wonderfully designed interior and it centrally located in St. Pete.
Let me first say that this is a cute old home in the middle of downtown. Parking is tight and sometimes not available in on the same block but it's nice so a short walk not a big deal.
I am a landlord so I understand old homes and maintenance. I was prepared for minor issues but there were issues that made the stay uncomfortable.
There was a horrible odor in the kitchen, dead mouse or something. At times it was bad enough that we couldn't eat in the unit. The toilet paper must have been dropped in the tub or toilet and air dried because it was crispy. The laundry pods that were provided leaked all over the top of the washer.
The first full day we were told we couldn't park on the street because the neighbor directly across was having a tree removed. They had a HUGE crane spanning the entire street.
The crew worked in and stacked the cut up tree in our front yard. This started around 10am and lasted most of the day. I am not sure our property owner was aware of this situation until I mentioned it.
However ... the next morning a landscape crew showed up at 8am and started pulling up the brick walkway and flowerbeds in our front yard. There were huge piles of dirt covering the sidewalks and no path from the front porch steps to the sidewalk. Just piles of dirt. He was there all day and wasn't able to complete the job so the dirt remained for us to maneuver around until we checked out.
I emailed the property manager to let him know about the issues and he stated that they knew there was an odor and had sent someone to spray for pests. I am not sure why you would spray for pests when a previous guest complains about an odor without looking for the source of the odor. He said he had no idea about the crane ... I understand that. And, he said the landscaping crew wasn't supposed to come this week but they had a schedule change. I find that unacceptable since he knew we were in the unit. The crew should have come as scheduled or rescheduled when no one was in the unit.
This was our second time staying in this section of St. Pete. Love the shops and the restaurant within walking distance. The house is cute with a nice front porch and a big backyard. The beds were comfortable and the master bath shower was great! Our suggestion would be to provide a few more towels, or bring some from home. Overall, great experience.
