The room was exactly as described but it needed some work. Toilet leaked, kitchen sink dripped and the fireplace did not function even though it said it would be operational when we were there.Would stay again but the place needs updating.

Nice but needs renovation

The place was clean and nice. The only issue I had was how old the apartment and everything in it seemed to be. I my partner and I suffer from allergies and our allergies were acting up the whole time we were there due to how old and dusty the apartment felt. I’m referencing the couch and the bed sheets and the curtains in the room amongst other things.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the second time we stayed in the Olde Gatlinburg facility for visiting GSMNP. The location is great, both for visiting the park and for walking to the main street and most attractions in Gatlinburg. Having the whole apartment with a balcony is a reason we decided to go with this place rather than a motel/hotel. The major problem with the specific room we stayed in was that the sofabed was extremely uncomfortable/used up, making it difficult to get a good sleep. More bedding items would be useful as well. The other facility was ok, not affecting much the quality of stay - the building is definitely old, but everything works. I would stay here again, but would avoid this specific room, until the sofabed is replaced.

It's a condo - clean, well kept, affordable, pool and hot tub - everything we wanted. 2 blocks from the main street. The staff member named Kevin was outstanding. Thanks so much to these fine folks.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Just myself and my 11 year old, so wasnt too bad for a short get away. Place is old and needs some upgrading for sure. When they advertise kitchen it really means a kitchenette, no stove and only 2 eyes to cook, one of the very first microwaves invented that never got hot and a small toaster oven.2 fridges and neither one them kept anything cold, kept my stuff in the freezer all weekend long and it stayed cold and never froze. Rooms could be a little cleaner, but nothing I couldnt deal with. However, I left the room cleaner than I found it!!

My only complaint this time is that the refrigerator was not working and it did cause a little inconvenience. Not enough to not stay there again. We will book Olde Gatlinburg Rentals again we will just make sure to ask about the appliances first.

Check in was easy and very nice people to deal with. Room was in order and everything worked as it should! It was very close to the strip which was great!

Good location

The place is clean but dated. I will say my husband killed 4 roaches within just a few minutes of walking in the door, but we only saw a couple more the rest of the few days we were there. Door is difficult to open from the outside unless you pull on it while it is unlocking. Located pretty close to the main strip so it's easy to walk everywhere and not worry about parking. Door to balcony does not lock, which isn't a huge concern considering you're on the 5th floor. Shower water was nice and hot with great pressure, but the handle on the wall to help get out was broken. TVs probably should be replaced/updated but they were watchable. I couldn't shut the blinds in the bedroom all the way and that was where the sun would rise so it was hard to sleep in. Overall though, I would stay here again if they get the bugs under control.

TV didn't work right..kept losing pictures. No TV guide Roaches in kitchen and bathroom Handicaps bar broken outside shower unit. Almost fell getting out shower unit, grab handy cap bar. It came off wall. (deep tub) Refrigerator didn't get cold. (Put milk inside refrigerator..next morning milk was warm. Patio door wouldn't lock. Bedroom comfort, crouch smell. Wifi didn't work. No security code.. Manager couldn't help, Mattress lumpy A/C didn't work right..it was noisy. (Couldn't sleep) Handled on bathroom sink is broken..

Bitten

While staying here I woke up itching to think I was eaten by mosquitoes the day before. Saturday night I woke up bitten by bedbugs. My husband turned on the light and killed two. We ended up sleeping in the car the second night.

Great Location

This was perfect for a short get away. Location was ideal! Very easy walk to the main strip. Nothing fancy, but it was good and clean. Large refrigerator didn’t seem to work (freezer did) but there was a smaller dorm sized fridge in the unit also - I’m assuming since the other was out?? It wasn’t an inconvenience to us since all we needed was a spot for drinks anyway. I did notice a On another review a mention of a musty smell. I did notice this a little in the bedroom. Again, it wasn’t enough that it bothered us at all, but it was there.

Nice but not prefect

It’s very good location place and not very noise. Closed to the downtown street. The room is clean but old. On the evening of the second day we lived, the fridge suddenly sounded very noisy and it can’t cool down. Although the technician came to repair very soon, it was still not working and went back noisy after the technician left. All of food I kept in the fridge in the night can’t eat at the following morning. But thanks for the manager who sent me another smaller fridge to temporarily use.

There was a musty/mildew smell that I wanted to air out, but the screen to the balcony had several huge holes in it so I could not leave the door open for air. The clomping upstairs was a surprise in a concrete building. We were disappointed the pool was closed as that was not mentioned and it was warm enough to swim and we would have booked some place without a pool if we had known we wouldn't be able to use it. There was also no dishwasher detergent provided and the pot provided left black flecks in our food which made me concerned that we were eating metal or non-stick toxins. Bathroom fans need to be replaced (and based on reverberation in more than just the unit we stayed in) We did love the location, the water pressure in the shower and the rest of the kitchen.

History/Peace

Each time I come to TN, I am amazed at the memories I have here. This time was no exception. I love being in my second home to visit, shop, relax, and study. It is also a great time to pray and reflect upon Him. I love being in that quiet solitude here in this condo. Very clean and peaceful. Thanks!!
