We loved the privacy of the home, and the amazing views. Our family had a great time, and enjoyed many evenings playing cards at the table enjoying the view. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment to prepare meals for group of eight. The house was clean, and very well maintained.
5 Stars â Stunning Views and Unforgettable Stay!We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful chateau! The panoramic views of the Puget Sound, Tacoma, the Narrows Bridge, and Mount Rainier were absolutely breathtaking â it felt like waking up in a postcard every day.The home itself was gorgeous and incredibly comfortable, with a gourmet kitchen that made cooking a joy. We really appreciated all the thoughtful amenities, from the fully stocked kitchen to the laundry setup and even a Bluetooth speaker for setting the perfect vibe. One of our favorite things was simply sitting outside and soaking in the peaceful environment â it was the perfect mix of relaxation and natural beauty.Weâd come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a serene, luxurious getaway in the Pacific Northwest!
We loved our stay here! We didnât want to leave. Stunning views await as you walk through the front door - of the water, the bridge and Mt. Rainer. The house is gorgeous but also feels like home. Beds are very comfortable. You can adjust the temperature in each room. Kitchen is fully stocked, with a built in coffee/espresso maker. The hosts are easy to reach and very responsive. The location is great - close to wonderful spots in both Tacoma and Gig Harbor.
Our stay in this magical, exceptionally cozy high bank waterfront home was something out of a very happy dream. We were delighted by the generous hospitality and friendly reception of the Owners. They are some of the kindest, most welcoming hosts one could ever wish for. Please visit this lovely realm any chance you get. Fabulous place! Thank you for our amazing stay in your home!
Fabulous place for a group of 5 or 6 to commune and enjoy one of the best views of the Puget Sound.
Easy access from the airport, nice walking areas, great restaurants and a very well equipped home that lets people who respect the opportunity to live a grand lifestyle for a few days. Thank you!
Our group of twelve stayed at this property for Memorial Day weekend and it was truly memorable. The home is so spacious and has so many great features. Truth be told, we spent most of our time outside relaxing in the backyard, watching the boat go by, and looking for hummingbirds at the feeder. The bedrooms are spacious, the bathrooms plentiful, and the three stories make it easy to have a few private moments to yourself or with a loved one. We are considering making this an annual stay. The owner is extremely kind, thoughtful, and responsive!!
Overall the place was okay. It did feel scary at night. There were some issues with cleanliness of certain things like the coffee maker there was mold, etc. but overall good. Some people may be a little scared at night just because of the darkness and the feel of the place. Property manager communicated very well and worked with us.
Sharing a beautiful home with complete strangers takes great faith in mankind. I wish I could include the sounds and faces of our family, especially the young adult grandchildren as they arrived. For them, it was like being inside a fairy tale. Both the house, the location, surrounded by forest, the Sound, and Mt. Rainier as a backdrop for your morning cup of coffee on the balcony, it was difficult to even want to explore!. If you are interested in preparing a dinner, the kitchen is a culinary delight. We always attempt a family photo shoot when we are together, and this site was perfect without having to leave with a forest or water backdrop. Mariyam is the true gem of this experience. She went out of her way to help with our schedule, left amazing suggestions from dining, groceries, to highlights of the area. She is a great communicator that helped add to an extraordinary journey. As an educator, it was an A++ experience for our entire family and it is on the list to return someday. TADA!
Our family group of three generations thoroughly enjoyed our Gig Harbor stay. We felt like royalty. We enjoyed the views from the porch and windows. We put together a puzzle in front of the family room window, looking out in the bridge and Mt. Rainier. It was amazing to see Mt. Rainier in so many different lights during the day. We enjoyed watching the water and the trains on the other side. The home gave us lots of room to spread out. The beds were comfortable. Maryam was very responsive and knowledgeable about restaurants and current activities in the area and respected our privacy. We enjoyed the fancy coffee maker, grilling fresh salmon on the bbq grill, and roasting marshmallows for some mores in the fire pit. We stayed more than a week, but wish we could have stayed longer. We made some very special memories for our family and thank Maryam for sharing her unique chateau with us.
The view is stunning. The common areas look great â clean and modern. In general the property is well maintained. The photos accurately reflect the grounds, exterior, and common areas.
We were excited until we arrived and found out the listing was not correct with regards to the sleeping beds and the number of bathrooms. The property was described as 5 bathrooms and 7 sleeping beds.
First, there is only 3.5 bathrooms â one of the toilets is not operation during the summer months (we rented in August), and one is only a half bath. One bathroom is in the laundry room and there isnât enough room to comfortably walk past the W/D to the toilet and shower. The bathroom in the basement (without a working toilet) had a broken shower door with broken glass on the shower floor, and a clogged sink with awful-looking standing water. There is only one (master) bathroom photo but, it doesn't look like that now. With no curtain be prepared to flash anyone standing on the back patio. The other bathrooms are dated and donât look anything like the one bathroom photo. More and accurate photos would be helpful.
The listing described 7 sleeping beds: 1 king, 3 queen, a twin, a futon, and a sofa that converts to a double. There wasnât a sleeper sofa in the basement. And, the twin is not a full-sized twin â it is a childâs bed. I contacted the owner to let her know of the inaccuracies and since our stay the listing has been updated to accurately reflect the beds and baths.
The house was large and accommodated our family of eight. The views of the Tacoma Narrows were outstanding. We saw a pod of orca, and a whale breach twice. Viewing the wildlife was amazing. The host is extremely responsive which was helpful when we had a few issues. The Internet can be unstable, likely from service provider.
We refer tp the property as, The Castle". Need we say more?
OK, we will. The view was spectacular. In addition, there are over 15 restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive in one location which I believe is called the town center. Many more businesses other than just restaurants.
A whimsical wonderland. We referred to this special gathering place as "The Castle". We rented this Vrbo for ourselves, a few close family members and couple lifelong friends to celebrate our wedding on Fox Island. The kitchen and dining area are very spacious, warm and inviting. We spent most of our time in these two areas: dining, talking, laughing, and playing games. The kitchen appliances are top of the line, including a built-in espresso machine! Then there's the views!! I don't even know where to begin to describe the magnificence of the views that can be experienced from almost every room in the house. Absolutely breathtaking. The bedrooms are small, sparcely decorated and could use some additional lighting and clothing storage. The upstairs bathroom decor is very dated, yet adds to the charm of the castle. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at "The Castle".
