Needs help - too expensive for what you got.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was the perfect setting for our family of 5, a boyfriend, a friend from Chicago and 2 dogs! The location right on the beach was fabulous! The neighborhood is lovely and felt extremely safe. The kitchen cabinets are in rough shape but is stocked very well for anything you want to cook. We will definitely be back!

Reviewer Comments: Overall, as good as always, but the kitchen is very poorly stocked to the point that you can't cook and end up buying the things you need. The regular coffee pot is also broken and leaks water. Not everyone uses k cups .

Great location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First and most important, the location is fabulous. The beach is beautiful and the seating area on top of the sand dunes really made the week. Beach Realty was responsive to our immediate concerns about the house (the doors did not lock and the elevator was broken upon arrival.) Also on the positive side, the hot tub was brand new and we really enjoyed it. Compared to other rentals we have stayed at in the area - this house is in very rough shape, with many upgrades, repairs and some basic cleaning needed. The door on the oven and the refrigerator were both broken and cumbersome. The cabinets and bathrooms are very much in need of repair, although workable. A few basic cleaning supplies would also be very helpful (great if the owner placed some there!) or good to bring with you. For instance, we did spend some time cleaning some windows so we could see out of them, etc. Exterior needs some TLC in order to avoid damage and repairs in the future.

August Rush Rental Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We expected a well maintained property for the rental fee charged but that’s not what we got.1) The A/C discharge vents on the main floor dripped condensation all week. At times had to use towels and pots to collect. Tried different temp setting on system but it didn’t help much. (Reported)2) The dishwasher died on Wed. of our stay, had to wash dishes by hand for remainder of week. (Reported, only thing the maintenance technician could do was check breaker)3) Light fixture in kitchen area shorted out one evening, noted condensation dripping from fixture. (Reported, no response) 4) The house was well decorated and furnished.The Corolla area in general was historic and very nice. The beach area was great.All in all the family managed to have a very good week, but the rental unit was definitely sub par compared to other's we’ve had at OBX in past years.

Adam's August Rush

Reviewer Comments: We initially were in Adam's View and were moved into August Rush on Sunday. We spent two days trying to resolve the issues regarding Adam's View Our vacation was cut short by thisWe checked into Adam’s View on Saturday June 17th a little after 5pm and found this home to be not as expected. I called Beach Realty immediately when I discovered how dirty this house is. I spoke with Alison and then Scott and then housekeeping who promised someone to come Sunday morning. We did have an array of workers/cleaners/handymen to assist in helping make the house livable but it was impossible. The outside of the house is in disarray. We were going to cook burgers on the gas grill as described. We had to purchase a small charcoal grill in order to have our dinner (after driving two (2) days from Alabama. We were reimbursed for the grill. The return in the living space was covered with dirt and there are an abundance of cobwebs.Two bathrooms do not have shower curtains only liners. The master battub outlets for jacuzzi are covered with mold and the spiket is covered with rust. The furniture is dated and dirty!The screened in porch has ripped screens!The icemaker is out of order l spoke to Scott who said that this was a new item however when you view pictures on the website there is a sign on it then! Blinds on the top level crow’s nest are torn off the windows! And the windows are filthy! In the agreement , "All equipment in the unit should be in good working order. Please report any inoperative equipment to our office promptly.” Which we continued to do. We were moved into August Rush on Sunday to find that the elevator was going to be fixed. We never got to use th elevator! There is paint crusting off the baseboards in the bathrooms. The kitchen cabinets need an refresh. The view was spectacular and the deck on the beach amazing. The gas grill did not work.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home is right on the beach so that was nice. The home needs a lot of tender loving care. Level one toilet rocks so bad needs to be replaced. All showers need new shower curtains they are mildly at the bottom. Third floor glass patio door you cannot barely open, and the screen will not stay on, we finally left it off. All baseboards are peeling throughout the house. Beach was wonderful but the home needs a lot of maintenance and repairs.

Great Location Comfortable House

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although the property definitely needs some maintenance and repairs, overall we were pleased. The kitchen was one of the most well stocked we’ve had. We did not like the beds especially the one in the ground floor level bedroom. There’s some room for improvement there. The layout of the house was nice and definitely gives a multi family group room and privacy. The “in town” but beachfront location was great. We were not impressed with the exterior rear and side doors that do not lock. The doors are warped with defective locks and could literally be pulled open from the outside when they were supposed to be locked. Some members of our group did not care for the all streaming TV experience. We appreciate the pet friendly policy but would have appreciated access to basic cleaning tools like a swiffer mop and a vacuum cleaner so we could keep up after our pets. Cleaning crew should check and clean under beds to ensure nothing is left that could harm a child or pet. For example, we found spilled medication under one of the beds. Also, the cleaning crew should check the laundry machines. We found extremely soiled unwashed bed linens in the washer.

August Rush A Long-Time Renter's Review Of A Home Falling Apart

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've rented this home for over 10-years so it's sad to see it being allowed to fall apart. The location is nice but the house has become a disaster. There is mold everywhere including kitchens and bathrooms. The Air-Conditioning vents drip fluid onto the dining table (food), kitchen island (food), couches, carpets and floors and the AC has now failed every year for the last 4-years interrupting our vacation with repairs and temporary window AC units. The AC repair people tell us the owners are well aware of the AC issues but won't fix it properly. SOme of the deck boards have now completely rotted out especially near the hot tub and overall the decking has become really shaky with nails popping everywhere. Two of the bathrooms have failing vent fans, bulbs that blow out in hour and more mold issues. There are multiple outlets in the house that simply don't work or the outlets are so old that anything you plug in, falls out. The pre-arrival cleanup has been hit or miss (who doesn't love empty beeer cans under the kid's beds) to the point that we're forced to re-clean the house the day we arrive and their early check-in has failed 4 of the last 5-years. We've brought these problems to the attention of the realtor for the last 5-years and nothing has been effectively addressed. Add in a really significant price increase over the last 2-years, a $500 processing fee, and a new linen fee and there are simply much better, cleaner, well-maintained houses out there for less money.

Icky house.

We would have enjoyed our stay if not for the cleanliness of the house. Trash was under the beds- food and drinks-, there was a dog pee stain we assume on the bed sheets, and one of the tv output lines was sparking and popping. As well as a porch light was out. Overall upkeep was pretty bad.

The house was not cleaned very well...one bed had lots of food pieces under it...the round table in the family room had lots of various things around the glass. We were disappointed in the house...we had a good vacation because we had a chance to be together.

This is a great location - proximity to the beach, shopping and restaurants, as well as a great section in general. The house is in need of some updating and had a few minor issues. The property management company was reasonably responsive however so no major concerns.
