Woolly Slopes is a firm fave stay of ours - the best for escaping the city and connecting with the beauty of Daylesford. The house is cosy, cared-for and thoughtfully decorated. Owners are very responsive and helpful. We love the log fire, the stunning vistas (especially at sunrise/sunset) and waking to the distant bleating of sheep. Highly recommend!
Our second visit and again it did not disappoint us. The property is very well equipped and in lovely countryside. The grandchildren enjoyed kangaroo spotting.
We enjoyed our five nights. Property is well maintained and equipped. Great location, easy and quick access to Daylesford. Children enjoyed spotting the kangaroos.
Our family had such a lovely time staying at Woolly Slopes. The house and surrounds were pristine. Check-in was straight forward, especially as we arrived after dusk and missed the driveway entry initially in the dark. Amenities were well explained and the house was well-equipped, allowing us to self-cater for our entire stay. The fireplace was set-up ready to start a fire when we arrived, and with ample firewood, was not difficult to maintain. Plenty of space to hang out together but also to find a cosy nook elsewhere for solitude. We used the BBQ and ate out on the deck. Perfectly private with no intrusions, the only others we encountered were birds, kangaroos and the neighbours' cattle. We had such a great time that we would stay here again.
This comfortable, spacious house is located on an isolated property, sitting on the hill looking over the small valley. We had a lovely, peaceful time, watching kangaroos and taking walks around the property. Kitchen well appointed. Beds comfortable. Heater takes a while to get going but toasty once it is, plenty of wood and a clever system circulates rising heat into the bedrooms, which is a bit noisy. Properly fenced for dogs. Around 12 minutes drive to Daylesford for a wander and good food.
Such a beautiful property, we had a relaxing stay with some short walks and family meals with beautiful views. Our hosts were great and we were very impressed with the kit out for the kitchen and the attention to detail overall. Highly recommend this property for a peaceful getaway.
The property surroundings are so quiet and tranquil. The garden is nice and it was lovely sitting out on the veranda and deck. The birds are varied and chatty.
The house is well set up with lots of kitchen gear and everything you need except there was no milk and very little coffee.
Overall our stay was very pleasant.
An absolutely gorgeous property that is maintained so well by the hosts. You can tell they really put their love and care into it, with so many small details that are appreciated when away from home. So cosy, especially with the log fire on, also really appreciated the well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. I'm sure we will be back!
We have been visiting Woolly Slopes for many years now. Position as spectacular as ever and the home has been further improved every time we return. Now has new bathrooms, laundry, carpet, paint and double glazing. Excellent spot to unwind.

What a delight to stay at this beautiful property for a few days. Seclude yet close enough to town to pick up supplies and enjoy the local shops. We enjoyed the large deck and verandah, particularly watching the sunrise and sunset. Our dog was made welcome and was safe in the fully enclosed fence around the home. The kitchen is well stocked and the home nicely decorated. Thank you for letting us share your property for a few days x
A cosy house in stunning surrounds - weâve visited many times and always feel instantly relaxed on arrival. Thanks very much to our hosts - always a wonderful experience.
This house sits on a hill overlooking a vast sparse view of fields and trees along with cattle and kangaroos. It has all the kitchen equipment you need, well set out bedrooms, linen etc all top class. We took our two dogs and it was perfect for them also. This is the sort of place you want to stay at if you truly want to escape life. Take your own bluetooth speakers and don't plan to watch tv (very small with no access to streaming). We played our own instruments/music every night very loudly ... no neighbours to complain! And we gazed at the amazing night sky that you only can see in these remote conditions. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed 3 nights here with our 2 labs and were a party of 5 humans. Honestly can't think of a single thing the property was lacking. We enjoyed the views, the strolls on the property, the wildlife. Wonderful supper at the Farmers Arms in Daylesford. Countryside to die for. We would definitely stay again.
Every detail is stunning internally and externally. If your looking for isolation, nature and happy to cook and spend time exclusively with those you are traveling with, this is the perfect place.
We had a lovely relaxing stay at Woolly Slopes.....perfect setting to relax, unwind and take nice walks with the township of Daylesford is just a short drive away. Beautiful accomodation with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We love staying at this property. So well set up with everything youâll need. Short drive to Daylesford to go swimming in the lake. Get some fresh spring water at the end of the street. Just generally relax and take in the view.
We absolutely loved our stay at Woolly Slopes. Cottage was beautiful and had everything you needed. Countryside was spectacular, surrounded by kangaroos, kookaburras and parrots. Waking up to the sunset coming over the hills was amazing. So serene and had such a country feel, just what we needed to relax and unwind. Our little dog Murphy loved it too with plenty of fenced yard for him to run.We will definitely be back đ
