Excellent apartment! It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Location is key and this was down a quiet walkway and out the windows were the waterways. Wonderful!
Large apartment. Great location. Easy checkin. We took a private water taxi there from airport-highly recommend. Clean but could definitely use some updatingâespecially living room chairs and couch. Great for short stay.
Iâve booked with VRBO many times and this was not quite the same high standard. It feels a little shabby and unloved. Having only one wine glass between five, few serving bowls and poorer pre visit communication just took the shine off the trip. The location is good. The space is as described. Itâs close to everything. Itâs nearly excellent.
We had a wonderful visit to Venice. The apartment was very comfortable and roomy. We enjoyed the close proximity to all the sites yet far enough away to have some quiet.
My friends and I stayed at the property for a few days before leaving on a cruise. The property was perfect for all of us. We all had enough space to enjoy ourselves and the neighborhood was fantastic! Great stay for a first time or repeat visitor.
The apartment was the perfect size for our family of 6 . We had lots of space it was a lovely place to come home to after a day of sight seeing.
The location of the apartment was central and walkable to every sight in Venice.
Thanks for making the checking process so effortless Nino. It was all excellent !
A comfortable older residence in Cannaregio among locals. Bathrooms are small but shower works fine with good water pressure. Air conditioning spot on. Easy to communicate with Nino who gave us the keys & did the house orientation. There was plenty of room for the five in our party.
This is a great apartment. Plenty of room. Off the beaten path so you can avoid some of the crowds. Five flights of stairs are not fun after walking around all day, but we were very pleased with our stay.
Very nice apartment and within walking distance to San Marco Square, restaurants, and sites such as Rialto Bridge. Very typical of an Italian apartment. We had to go up 60 steps to get to unit, but we knew that when we booked. Good exercise!!
The apartment is not nearly as nice as it appears in the photos. The representative that met us gave us no information about the apartment or the area. She seemed in a hurry to leave.
The furniture in the living room is worn, shabby, uncomfortable and the room smelled of urine.
The floor in the bathroom of the primary bedroom was covered in water when we checked in. Something was leaking so we didn't use that bathroom. There was very little hot water making it impossible to shower. Wifi was extremely spotty. Overall it was not a good experience. Glad we were only there two nights.
The apartment was nicely kept and the stairs to the third floor apartment were good exercise for all the stairs going up and over the bridges. Arianna was great. She met us and guided us to the apartment which is a must for any first time visitors to Venice. She also organized the water taxi for us back to the airport at a location two minutes walk from the apartment.
The Good:
Good, central location
HUGE apartment, lots of space, many sleeping options
The 3 bathrooms are nice, and itâs great to have multiple bathroom options with a group!
Lots of good natural light
Beautiful views of canal
Given 3 sets of keys
Very secure with 3 levels of keys needed
The Bad (not a big deal, but some people may care):
As advertised, no elevator
Dark, dank entry level off of alley, but thatâs to be expected in Venice
The A/C was a little sluggish in the top floor bedroom and the bedroom off the kitchen, but it was a really hot out and it was manageable
Some of the furniture is a bit worn
Be prepared for very specific trash collection requirements in Venice (not the fault of the property owner)
We were met at the water taxi and brought to the apartment and we appreciated this because it would have been hard to find. It is close to everything including a grocery store. Very comfortable with beautiful water views. The living area is big and comfortable for hanging out. We did request more towels but never received them. We also notified Adrianna that the upstairs sink was leaking and nobody came to fix it even though she said they would be there. Other than that, this is a great place with a great location.
It was a nice house . Initially thought would never find it as have to take so many turns to go the house . But it was not hard later on. House had plenty of room for everyone . Host asked for 50% of money I needed to pay in cash , which was hard as getting money converted from $ to euro had to pay lot of commission would have preferred paying via credit card. Had to wait for almost 1 hrs before host picked up from the Vapratto station though had been sending emails of estimated time of arrival . Other than that everything else was ok.
We travelled as a four couple group to Venice and stayed here. We received good communication concerning the check in process by email and were met at our water taxi by a pleasant young lady who cheerfully led us to the apartment. She took the time to review a map so we could get our bearings and answered our questions.
The apartment was very much as shown in the pictures. each bedroom was clean and private. The living room /dining room was large enough to enjoy a happy hour for all eight of us.
My only issue was that we couldn't get the gas stove to work properly. Probably just a lack of knowledge on our part.
As long as you're okay with a few flight of stairs, I would recommend this property.
All in all ok though a little shappy. Wouldnât take much to improve. No WiFi despite the local agent coming round and telling us it wasânow okâ. Toilet seat broken. Some light bulbs not working and a lack of enough wine glasses and tea towels.
The upstairs bathroom had very little water. However for the price, fairly good. Plenty of hot water in the lower floor bathrooms and heating, the tv needed an adapter, which I bought.
The apartment is spacious, however it was very difficult to locate on foot. The furnishings are older and worn, the sofa is not very comfortable, however the beds were good. The bedroom on the main floor off from the kitchen needs the headboard repaired, as every time you move it hits the wall. The upstairs bathroom tub/shower was challenging to use due to ceiling height. It was loud very early in the morning on the working canal below. So if you are a light sleeper that could pose an issue. We struggled to arrange for transfer to return on our water taxi. Be sure to check the water taxi 24 hour schedule ahead of time especially for early flights! Be weary of bringing a great deal of luggage, as the listing states there are several flights of stairs and no elevator. We were grateful that we packed carry-on bags only. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and once we got our bearings it was easy to get to and from the city center for shopping, exploring and dining.
We fully enjoyed our stay here. Lucrezia seemed to be available 24/7 for any questions we had and arranged for someone to meet us in front of the apartment to let us in and show us around.
I want to say that if you are unable to climb 3 flights of stairs with luggage, this is NOT the place for you.
The apartment was close to everything, the Rialto bridge and San Marco areas, the vaporettos and all the gelato you could possible want. Due to our very short stay, we didn't have the opportunity to venture out much farther.
We were concerned about the huge crowds as we found our way to the apartment but they quickly dissipated as we neared our destination and the area was quiet despite its proximity to multiple restaurants.
The rooms were comfortable and all but one had air conditioning (husband thinks it may be due to breaker load so not much could be done about it.) Temperatures were in the high 90s so the grandchildren got that room. There was plenty of room for luggage and unpacking if you choose to do so.
The living area was a little small but the adjoining table had plenty of room for all of us and we weren't there very much anyway!
I used just one bathroom and heard no complaints about the others.
The kitchen was well appointed and had the most important items, coffee and a coffee maker.
There were a few areas in need of attention that Lucrezia is aware of so I have no qualms about this 5-star rating.
Thank you Lucrezia, if we are back, this will be our first choice!
We rented this apartment for a week and ended up leaving after 2 days. It looked good online with VRBO, 4 bedrooms on 2 floors overlooking canals and 3 stories up ancient stairs. Nicely located too, as we knew from staying in other apartments in Venice. But these canals are working men's canals. The motor boats are loud and operate at all hours, starting at 3 or 4 AM, and then all day into the night, honking around each bend in the canal and then revving up as they sped off! At dawn the loading docks went to work with loud clattering, deliveries and garbage pick-up
But the real problem for us was the apartment itself. It was decorated and maintained in what I would call cheap, shabby, minimal, and worn...4 bedrooms and 3 baths and most of the place smelled so bad we had to close down the kitchen and one bathroom all together, open windows and burn incense to make it possible to be there. Every piece of furniture was covered in old faded coverings and the walls were stained, in need of paint, and spotted with dead bugs. We abandoned the second floor completely. The windows up there were so in need of cleaning that they looked like some car windshields Iâve seen on bad days. The flies and mosquitos kept us up at night. My wife left the apartment with bites on her face. We finally got the internet to work for an hour, and then it went out completely. Before arriving for our week, it took 2 emails to get the owner to respond about how to get into the apartment, which she did only a week before we arrived. It took 3 emails to get any response from her about restaurants in the neighborhood. Her response was only that her rep
would give us restaurant recommendations when we arrived. When we arrived and checked in, the representative told us the name of a local pizza place she liked and gave us a common tourist map. Thatâs it! Anyone who knows Venice also knows you need reservations well in advance at any good restaurant, and they know pizza places are available anywhere. We emailed the ownerâs rep immediately that we moved out 5 days early, and emailed the owner that we wanted to be fair to her and expected only to be reimbursed for the days we did not use. Her reply was the only time she replied to any questions we had., quick and long, defensive, insulting, and filled with misconceptions about the state of the apartment. We travel a lot, and this was the worst place we've rented, ever. I would caution anyone to not rent here.
First the positives and there are many. This was a great apartment and is exactly as advertised. The location is amazing. It is close to both the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks. It is not in a busy area so there are plenty of less expensive restaurants and cafes around. We found great places to eat.
The only downside was the AC. It was very hot at the end of July and this apartment is on the top floor. The AC does not work well in the room at the very top. So, it was hot the entire time we were there even though we ran the AC unit the whole time. The AC unit broke in the room by the kitchen after the first night. We notified management and the host on VRBO right away (on Saturday) and the person who checked us in responded they said they would try to get technician until the next day (after we checked out). The host never responded. The room was not livable in the heat, so we had to cram people into the other rooms. So, when you book an apartment for 7 people that advertises air conditioning and one room was unusable and other was so uncomfortably hot it was hard to sleep, I think that is a problem, particularly at this price.
I would stay here again in cooler months but not in July or August if the management makes the AC more dependable or are more willing to come out and fix things quicker.
