This is the perfect property if you wish to live in an authentic Venetian home. We are a family of 5 ( 3 boys 10, 14, 16). The apartment is very spacious, perfectly situated a few minutes walking distance from Rialto and Place St Marc, with all the restaurants and boutiques on spot. We sat for hours just watching the gondolas and tourists go by, watching the canal levels rise and lower, a real dream come true for us. We booked a "behind the scenes" tour with Monica - the best part of our stay, we learnt so much and loved the less touristic parts of the city.
Thank you to Carlos and Monica, we would recommend your place and return without hesitation.
Best wishes!
Perfect location half way between Rialto and San Marco. Great appartement with amazing view on a crossroad of canals directly from the windows. We could hear the gondoliers singing. Typical old Venesian appartement well furnished and very charming. Thanks to Carlo and Luca his brother-in-law for their advices and kindness.
Monica and Carlo were great. Communication was excellent on how to reach the lovely apartment from the train station (use line 1 - go to the far right after exiting Santa lucia station). Monica met us and gave great information on places to eat along the way. Beds were very comfortable and the views from our livingroom were amazing - Gondolier route (singing/just watching them navigate through the canal).Warm, inviting atmosphere within walking distance to many attractions or other neighborhoods. When leaving - you will need a water taxi (if early am flight. Need to take the "N" and book water taxi - pickup will be Riva del Carbon (near the Rialto Bridge). Learn to read signs on corner of buildings to navigate the streets.
This property is a perfect location for exploring Venice. We enjoyed our time here as it was a quick walk to nearly anything you want to do. Very typical Venice apartment though - so showers are sized to fit small people (not a problem for us). Kitchen was great though and allowed us to do some breakfasts at the house. We came to eat Italian though so didn't do any significant cooking in the house. Overall great place to stay,
The apartment is located in the hub of Venice. So if you want that- this apartment is in the busy part of Venice. Transportation was very convenient The canal has busy noise in the morning. Our family of 4!adults stayed here and the flat was definitely big enough. The 2 single beds are a bit small if you are an adult. We loved our stay in Venice.
We had a wonderful stay here! The apartment is in a perfect location, just a few minutes away from St. Marks square, meeting points for many tours and the Rialto bridge. Carlo met us as we came off the water taxi and walked us to the apartment. In just a few minutes, we were there. He was also super accommodating when it came to storing our luggage, as we arrived early in the morning and also needed to store bags after we departed. The view from the apartment is spectacular. We people watched, and loved seeing the gondolas pass by the 2 windows in the living room as we sipped on wine and enjoyed some wonderful cheese and meats. Carlo was super responsive to all of our questions, and his wife Monica gave us tours 2 of the days we were there. It was a great way to see the city with someone who knows the âins and outsâ and how best to navigate crowds. Monica grew up in the apartment and we loved hearing about the history and her time there over the years. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Venice.
Pros: Excellent location within a short walk of most key tourist sites in the city while also being in a quiet section that highlights the more residential side of Venice. Very spacious apartment with nice furnishings and overall vibeCons: Hot water went out on first day of stay and was not fixed during duration of our stay. We ended up only having hot water for 1 of 4 days
Great location. Gondolas right outside our windows! It was very hot during our stay and the air conditioning was only in 2 bedrooms. The one bedroom and other spaces were not so enjoyable. The locals were not used to the heat either!
Loved the property location. Was very very upset at our host who yelled because we got on the wrong ferry and held him up. My suggestion is go to the end of ferry ride Rialto and then ring him. It actually made me so upset for most of my stay in Venice.
Our second stay in Carlo's apartment was just as great as the first time two years ago. The large unassuming but comfortable apartment was perfect for us with our two teenage grandkids. The location is amazing! Literally 3 minutes from Piazza San Marco and just off a main, busy street, but down an alley to a quiet campo retreat seemingly miles from tourists. The apartment looks out over an intersection of two main canals, where we watched a steady stream of gondolas, water taxis dropping off people at the nearby Splendid Venice hotel, and all kinds of typical Venice traffic. The living room windows look out at a favorite tourist canal photo opportunity, so the grandkids photo-bombed hundreds of tourists' photos! It's fun to spot the apartment location from the San Marco Camponile (and in stock Venice aerial photos) by locating the large tree in the courtyard of the adjacent Chiesa di Santa Croce degli Armeni. Once again a magical Venice holiday in a perfect apartment. We'll definitely go back! The photos include the kids taking a final canal view.
The location was wonderful. Very easy to get to all areas we wanted. It was also quiet because it was in a little alleyway and not right where everyone was walking. The host was so wonderful answering all of my silly tourist questions.
Our family loved our stay in Venice. The apartment was clean, had a great view of the canals and was centrally located to see the best parts of Venice.
Great location-only on bridge to carry luggage over. Beautiful apartment overlooking canals where you can watch and listen to the gondoliers. Very easy place to stay.
What a fabulous unit and location for our 4 day stay in Venice! Easy to get around to all of Venice and beautiful views of the canals from the windows. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. Weâd definitely return
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment, with a perfect view out the living room window of the action and festivities on the canal. Very comfortable, and easy to navigate from there to other parts of Venice. I would recommend staying here.
We loved the palazzo. The location is fantastic within a few minutes walk of Saint Marks Square and all the bustling bistros and pretty shops. Carlo was so helpful. A fantastic host. The best thing was the amazing views from all the windows particularly from the sitting room. We spent hours Watching the Miriad of boats delivering tourists, oranges, fridges and geraniums. Faded grandeur. Shabby shic. Try the lovely cocktails in the opulent Hotel Splendid next door. Fabulous holiday. The Italians were all so accommodating.. canât wait to return.
The hosts, Carlo and Monica, made everything easy from start to finish. Great communication about check in and check out. It is a beautiful property close to everything we wanted to see and do. An informational book in the living room gives lots of great tips for touring the city. And be sure to lift the top of the desk in the hallway to find business cards for restaurants and other shops. As an added bonus, Monica was able to arrange a private tour with a friend who is a professional guide, which was fabulous! The only small issue with the property is that it takes quite a while before the water in the shower gets hot.
This apartment is located very near both San Marco and Rialto, and all the sites there. It is the perfect location from which to explore all the beauties of Venice. The apartment itself is well appointed, clean and comfortable, and Carlo and Monica are great hosts. This is our second stay and we found it as delightful as the first. We will book again when in Venice. I highly recommend!
Great property rental. Easy walking to greater Venice. We all loved it. Me and 4 girl friends spent 3 days of our trip there. Mostly ate our meals "out", but was close to grocery shopping and all other shopping and tours also. Loved it.
