Thank you for the review. Ants are a constant battle in the heat and we have taken the step of getting in pest control to advise. We are surprised though that you are reporting ants upstairs in the bedrooms and bathrooms and will look into this as we've checked with the guests following you and they had no problems with ants upstairs. This has never happened before so thank you for bring it to our attention.

I am very sorry to read this review, the poorest we've had since renting out our beautiful villa. My brother in law (co owner) and his family were at the villa immediately before your party for a family wedding so I'm very surprised to read of your concerns regarding cleanliness. You first contacted me 10 days into your holiday when I became aware for the first time about issues regarding the TV, ants and the water cooler. You advised that there were broken sunbeds around the pool, but did not say anyone had fallen through broken slats. We were aware of broken sunbeds and had them removed, and 6 new sunbeds and mattresses were bought before my brother in law left so that there were sufficient for your party of 5. Indeed, when I sent your message to our manager he sent me a photo of the beds which were bought and in place before my family left. The water cooler was replaced on the day you told me that it was broken. I'm sorry that you felt one umbrella was insufficient. The sun goes behind the house in the afternoon and the majority of that side of the patio is then in shade. In addition, there is a very large purpose built gazebo a few steps from the patio area which provides shade during the whole day. As to ants, I don't want to argue with you about them but you were visiting during a hot time and ants and other insects do appear and if indoors are usually attracted by spills of food or drink that has not been immediately picked up. There is reference to ants in the folder in the villa and in your message to me you told me you had been visiting TRNC for the last 23 years, so you will have been aware of the potential for ants. You also said the property was the worst maintained you have ever stayed in and all I can say to that is we're very sorry that's how you feel. We have advised our manager of your concerns and he believes that he did his very best to help you.

I am naturally disappointed to read this review. Photographs of the meter readings have now been sent to Vrbo with an explanation. The figure of £86 was for the 2 weeks of your holiday per week and is not a means of making extra money. The agreement that is uploaded in the Vrbo system explains the process in respect of the electricity. It is standard to include an allowance for electricity and an amount to cover over use of that allowance as a basis of protection against the high costs of electricity when guests have the air condition running and/or left on when they go out. As to the TV, we don't have a box as it was taken by previous guests and we are not replacing it. The TV is a smart TV and streaming is available through the WiFi. There is Netflix on the TV and your name is shown on the Netflix so we know that viewing in English has been available. We note what you state about the neighbours/dogs/cats/the tip but this is all out of our control. Similarly the state of the beaches is beyond our control. The pool area is repaired when our manager has notice of it from guests and the folder in the villa and the online welcome notes does caution guests about the plastic gratings becoming brittle in the heat of the sun and to take care that they or their children don't run or walk on it in case it does break. We take on board the comments about the inside of the villa being dated as this is a comment made by previous guests and can confirm that after our next guests leave the villa is blocked to enable some renovation work to take place.
