Wonderful stay and neighborhood. it is quite a walk up stairs so be cautious if you are disabled/impaired but it was perfect for me and my friend :) host is lovely and her place is just as lovely
Great location with a short walk to the metro station and numerous restaurants, shops, and grocery stores just steps away. Like most buildings in Paris, there is no elevator, and the apartment is on the 4th floor. If stairs are an issue for you, this might not be the best option.
Nice apartment, nice neighborhood, a few minor quirks
We had a very enjoyable weeklong stay. The location proved to be very good, with great neighborhood shops on the Rue Daguerre and the Denfert-Rochereau metro stop nearby. The apartment has a very artistic and bohemian vibe, which we liked, and Clemence responded quickly to any question we had. The apartment is a little quirky in its layout and some of the furnishings could be more comfortable. But as a home base after a day of sightseeing we thought it was great.
This is a delightful apartment located close to rue Daguerre in the 14th district. It is located on the top floor, so very little noise from neighbors. It is a very personalized space and gives you a true sense of what it's like to live in Paris. Clemence was very responsive and friendly, and made check-in and check-out super simple. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Clemence. We highly recommend this property.
There is no clothing dryer and the apartment is older and dusty. Paint is peeling off the walls and there is black mold in the bathroom. The shower head you must hold to shower. The shower head does not attach to the wall. Positives include a great neighborhood with everything you may need and easy access to the metro and busses. The host is very nice and responsive.
We love this apartment. Check in was easy, the apartment is lovely, and the stairs take some adjustment, but are good practice for those in the Arc de Triomphe. We've spent 12 days here and are quite sad to leave.
You're 40 paces from Rue de Guerre and it's amazing. From Thevenin, Amoreno, and Belle Ronde to Maison Peret...just go. If you arrive late and the sidewalks have been rolled up, go to Lazal for snacks, he's a good guy and knows my kid as soon as she shows up. Boba is at the end of rue Roger and so is great sushi. If you just need a burger, Le Locke groove will handle it with the 'Uncle Meat'. For extra points, watch the documentary Deguerrotypes by Agnes Varda, you'll walk past the accordion store near her house.
When you get into the apartment, go upstairs -watch your head!- and pull down on the handle on the high side of the skylight and give it a gentle tug straight down. Cool air and a great view are your reward. It'll cool off the apartment after you go downstairs and open the windows. There is no air conditioner, just a tower fan upstairs - Clemence is trying to fix the listing, but there's a language barrier. Leave the windows open at night unless there's bad weather, of course. Her English is good, but you have to speak slowly.
We look forward to our next trip already. It just feels like home.
Clemence was always helpful with questions before we came about the neighbourhood. Checking in was easy.
For an older apartment it had everything we needed!
It was my first time renting a VRBO and the process with the owner of this charming apartment was flawless. I was able to communicate very well with Clemence (owner) - If you are traveling to Paris, this is the typical Parisian experience you need - Rue Daguerre is around the corner. Exquisite food stores, 2 minutes from la Place Denfert Rochereau. The apartment is simply charming, under the roof with a great mezzanine, the bed is comfortable, and there is a piano in the apartment as well (perfect for a romantic night in Paris). Very well equipped and great for having a nice dinner with friends and family. Perfect to sleep 2 and even 4 with no problems. Very quiet street with a view of the rooftop of Paris. Excellent experience.
