We stayed in Anchor Haven for one week at the end of May 2023 and had a great time. The weather was perfect (best we've had in Ireland for a long time), and the town was quiet as the season had not started. We had dinner in Crookhaven 3 times and the other times we stayed at home to enjoy the view.
The house can get quite cool in the late evenings and mornings, and the heating system is a bit quirky in that it keeps going off, and the floorboards in and around the master bedroom squeak quite a bit, but apart from those things, it was a perfect house.
We would highly recommend this rental if you're looking to spend some time in Southwest Cork. The photos do not do it justice.
Just returned from the best 2 weeks staying at Anchor Haven, June to July 2023.
Everthing from the communications to the check in process was flawless. The house is stunning and the views are amazing.
No matter the weather it was such a pleasure to wake up each day to stunning views and a perfect place to get engaged on Barley Cove beach, a place never to forget.
Hired a car at the airport and travelled the beautiful island. A tour to Fastnet Rock and Mizen head is a must and the views are not to be missed. Bantry, Schull, Goleen and other local places are accessible with a car and the people are so friendly. If seafood is your taste head to Schull harbour for some fresh lobster.
Thank you so much to Anchor Haven for a lovely welcome package and the house was a dream and hope to return in the future.bthe most perfect 2 weeks and nothing at all to complain about.
Thank you so much

Anchor Haven is an idyllic house for a family holiday. The amazing pictures on the listing tell no lies. Our party consisted of three couples with children, the property probably is better suited to two couples with children because of there being only two double rooms but putting this aside the house is equipped with everything you need. Very good beaches and, much understated, very good restaurants nearby.
Anchor Haven has an elevated decked patio and barbecue area overlooking the bay with its own private pier and slipway which is accessed by a gate at the end of the garden .The garden is private with high wooden gates and is full of exotic plants that rarely grow in Ireland but thrive in Crookhaven due to its mild climate that benefits from the warmth of the gulf Stream.
Crookhaven is famous for its white sandy beaches,And is grate for a family vacation. With great pub,s and restaurants with in walking distance of Anchor Haven
