The location was great.
The apartment wasnât clean when we arrived but communication with the manager was efficient and a cleaner was sent right away. Fortunately we didnât mind going out for the evening while the apartment was being cleaned.
We checked in with keys. 2 days we started seeing people show up telling us they also booked. Knocking on the door. A bit disturbing. The owner needs to get that taken care of.
The location was good and that is the only positive I can give. We found out when we tried to check in that they wanted a photo ID of everyone in our group to make sure we were not minors. Had to go through the hassle of contacting VRBO to make sure it was legitimate and not someone trying to steal our identity because it was a third party we had never heard of before. After spending close to an hour getting checked in we got to try multiple lock boxes until we found the one with our key. We finally got into our room to find out there were no towels. After significant effort they said they couldnât get us towels until the next morning. I understand why they no longer had hourly personnel available. What I donât understand is why the third party manager didnât hop in a car and bring us some towels since the fourth party cleaning crew screwed up. The towels finally arrived after 1:00 the next day, Just what tired sweaty travelers wanted to hear after traveling on a red-eye special the night before when sleep was minimal. There were no instructions in the apartment. We discovered after taking cold showers that the timer on the hot water tank was 12 hours off, heating the water for four hours at night and letting you take cold showers in the morning. After finally figuring everything out, we settled for the minimal hot water in the shower, the uncomfortable beds and the cheap uncomfortable pillows. My advice, find another place to stay.
Is not like the pictures-worst stay ever and DIRTY!
Requested check in info multiple times before arrival time & didn't get until an hour AFTER check in time.
Arrived to the unit being dirty, open food bags on the kitchen counter plus dirty towels behind doors. Reported this immediately to VRBO who stated the manager needed to handle this. He requested we leave the key where we retrieved it from (which, in the pouring rain, with luggage, is not an easy retrieval) so that the cleaning crew can visit the next day. We left the unit for over 8 hours the next day & he said they hadn't arrived yet & please stay gone for another few hours. After those hours, we contacted him again & he stated someone was there at that time. We waited another hour & decided that was long enough only to return to find NOTHING had been done at all.
He then asked us to do the same thing again the next day & it was the same song & dance. We reported this again to VRBO & manager & he stated someone would be visiting in the evening. We returned to the unit late the 3rd night to a black trash bag full of DIRTY towels right inside the door. It was a nightmare. The shower water didn't work well at all, the shower curtain was molded, we couldn't even touch it-it was in a knot to be off the floor and was just disgusting.
I advised VRBO of all this & they said the manager needed to handle it. After 2 months of hounding them for partial refund due to having to leave the unit for 2 consecutive days, the open food left out, they only gave $50 cleaning fee back-JOKE
so many problems. I get angry even thinking about it.
will start looking at the other rental companies or go back to hotels.
Vbro and home away have lost it
The property management company that oversees this property only sent the access and location information 2 days prior to our reservation. Due to e-mail problems with my provider we had to call VRBO support line to get the information delivered to an alternate e-mail. VRBO/HomeAway support was excellent!
The apartment was nice and pretty clean, but had no working light in the bathroom when we arrived. This was remedied during our stay, so that's a plus. The listing also did not mention that the unit was on the fourth floor without an elevator.
With all that said, the location was perfect in central Dublin with everything we wanted to do in 15 minutes or less walking distance. The cafe Bite of Life across the street was wonderful and very friendly. Would give this place another chance sometime.
