We enjoyed our brief stay while in town to visit family. The home is clean, well appointed, and private. Traci and Tyler were helpful and friendly, and quick to answer all of our questions. We look forward to staying here again when we are in town for a longer stay.
Our family had a nice time at this property. It's within 10-15 minute drives from both Hood River and White Salmon. The owners were very attentive, responding to messages quickly and checking in with us about a forecast snowfall. We saw deer on 3 occasions during a 2 night visit.
We had such an amazing time! We very comfortably had 4 people stay at this property. The home is beautiful and very well decorated. Sparkling clean and had everything you could need. We didnât bring our dogs this time, but they had towels and blankets for dogs and even water and food bowls. So in the future (we 100% will be back) I hope to bring my pup. Itâs so close to swimming and tons of water sports, about an hour from Portland, and even if you just want to stay home and BBQ, the property is gorgeous. We saw quite a few deer and a Turkey and her babies walk through the property. Thanks so much for sharing your home! It was such an amazing memory for us all.
I stayed here with my two kids, 12 and 6. This home is very clean, cute and cozy, and spacious enough for the 3 of us. The mattress, pillows and linens in the master were very comfortable. I appreciated that the linens did not have a strong chemical fragrance smell. Kids slept well on the couch and pull out loveseat bed. I originally thought the two pull outs would open to be foot to foot with each other, but I don't think there is enough space for that. I didn't ask the owners because my daughter was happy to sleep on the couch without pulling it out. The woodsy setting was very peaceful and having morning coffee on the deck in the Adirondack chairs listening to birds and watching squirrels and deer proved to get my day off to a great start! The home was easy to find. The driveway was slightly challenging--steep with a curve but parking on the street would be an option for someone who wasn't comfortable with it. Downtown Hood River was a 10 min drive. Overall, I really liked this place, would recommend it and would stay there again. Thank you to Tyler and Traci for having it so clean and being very responsive to each of my communications.
Super cute cabin! We enjoyed our stay at the property, it was also very dog friendly our golden doodle loved the yard as did our seven year old daughter.
Lots of great wild life as well, owners were very assessable and the property was laid out nicely for our stay.
We loved our stay here. It was very clean and in the woods with 1/2 dozen deer each morning playing in the yard. They were very tame and were not at all afraid of human movement.
The home perched in the tree line and has a wonderful expression to it.
We will be back!
We had the best time at Cooper's Loft! Hosts were quick to respond and stayed in touch, when needed, throughout the trip. This place was EXACTLY what we were looking for that wknd. Somewhere remote enough for peace and quiet but close enough to run into town and grab a bite to eat. Location was exactly that. Also, being so close to the river and the Gorge was right where we wanted to be. Few minutes drive up the road and we had Amazing views of Mt. Hood and Adam's. This loft was so perfect for 2 people and 2 dogs. The dogs loved running around outside and were happy to come in and lay by the warm fire. The place was so cute, clean and cozy!! Had such amazing natural light during the days. The floors r beautiful, the stairs r too. The bed and sheets were super comfy. Loved the big skylight above the bed. The water was nice & hot for our showers and good pressure. Plenty of xtra towels and blankets. Kitchen had everything we needed. Tv and wifi worked great. We were so pleased with everything! Thanks Traci and Tyler we had a great vacation at ur loft. We look forward to our next stay!

it costs $2 to go across toll bridge, everytime.
We had a birthday celebration in White Salmon and this property - located in a quiet woodsy neighborhood about 15 minutes away - was perfect. Lots of roaming deer...VERY peaceful. Although it was just the 2 of us (+2 dogs) it easily sleeps 4. The owners responded quickly - and patiently (haha) - to my questions...they were great. I wouldnât hesitate to recommend this property!
Very comfortable and a happy place to be. Well equipped in bathroom and kitchen and plenty of towels available. Extremely clean and very very nice owners! Highly recommend staying here and you'll enjoy not only the cabin but everything in the area!
Quiet, quaint place. Relaxing retreat that allows dogs. Wild turkeys and deer wander through the property. We go enjoy all the wonders of the area and then come back and relax in the back yard hammock and ski lift chair swing and barbecue on the deck
We stayed for a little honeymoon. It was just what we were looking for. Cute decor, comfortable, close to activities but quiet, and it has a nice TV. We stayed when it was super hot (mid to high 90s) and it was pretty toasty. I was comfortable but my husband runs pretty hot and was disappointed there was not central air. There is an air conditioner in the bedroom but the water reserve fills up quickly and it would not stay on the whole night. Other than that this place is amazing. I would highly recommend and would gladly come back. It was hard to leave at check out time!
This is a great spot to spend some quality time with friends and family. Lofted deck overlooks a well-kept yard that is full of swings, a hammock, and chairs to lounge in. The hosts were very considerate for the unusual heat wave in the region, and we were greeted with a cooled two-story lofted house that had fans and a small A/C running when we arrived. Fell in love with both the home and retreat. This home will definitely be a part of our list of quick weekend getaways from Portland. Thank you!
I expected it would be nice but this place is much nicer than I gathered from the listing photos. Beautifully furnished and well-equipped. Everything I needed was available and easy to find. It was a great comfort to return to after a hard day's play. I like quiet and privacy and was not disappointed. Owner is extremely responsive and helpful - many replies were almost immediate. This is one of the best, most-carefree vacation stays I have ever had. Many thanks to the owners!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy rental. The deck was especially nice to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Kitchen was well equipped although appliances were a bit dated - not a big deal for us. Tyler and Traci were very responsive to our questions about the area. Close to great mountain biking, hiking, breweries and wineries. Just be aware that there is a $2 charge for the toll bridge. Overall great weekend getaway for us.
This was a nice getaway for my wife and I. It wasn't quite what we expected from the information we could see online, but we managed to make it work. Its not a great place for older folks or those with hampered mobility such as we are with all the stairs to traverse. But we set ourselves up in the living area, avoided the loft, and I did all of the major packing up and down the exterior stairs to lessen the exposure for my wife. Once we got settled in and had a plan, being cautious we did quite well. From the online info we had assumed that the main level was on the 1st floor and the loft bedroom and deck were upstairs - it was a little confusing. It would probably be a good thing to clarify that the main living area is upstairs as well. But we were comfortable and had a nice stay. Thanks.
The property is very peaceful and well-maintained. I am amazed that the owners built the place themselves! It is so beautifully crafted!!
We loved sitting on the porch at night and lying in the hammock during the day. The bed is comfy, the linens and towels are of good quality, the kitchen is perfectly stocked, and there was enough comfy seating in the living room. I thought it would be tiny, but the apartment is actually wonderfully spacious and open.
Tyler was spot on with communication, and he even set up a pack-n-play for our little one to sleep in. Thank you so much for making our stay so easy and pleasant.
This was my second time stay, it's perfect for me. Quiet and yet easy access to town and outdoor activities. The cabin is super comfortable and has everything you would need to just hunker down. The woodstove seals the deal for a winter retreat! Tyler is fantastic if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Michael

Environmentally conscientious, owner-builder, designer with a B.A. in Architectural Studies from the University of Washington. Have lived in "The Gorge" since 1993 and married a real "local girl" from Mosier, Oregon. Together we have traveled the world and settled down in this amazing community. We enjoy sharing our home with people who want to escape the hustle and bustle of their lives and take in all that our little spot has to offer.
We bought this one acre parcel back in 1999 and built a shop and garage with living quarters above that we lived in while building the main house, when time and money allowed. As a âyoung coupleâ with no money, we searched for used and reclaimed materials, enlisted the help of friends and family to help, and essentially were able to âbuild a houseâ ourselves. Providing shelter for yourself is a primal experience and is exhausting, challenging and rewarding. We finally finished the main house after 3 summers of construction in the Fall of 2022.
