We enjoyed the comfortable studio and its proximity to beach and downtown area. It was clean and just what we needed for relaxation and sleep at the end of the day.
This was an excellent choice!! It was a quiet & safe neighborhood! We could walk quickly to the beach! Location was Perfect!! Charming place!! The kitchen was small but was able to cook simple meals. Everything you needed! Loved the small bathroom - all the space was used wisely! I would definitely stay there again!!
Location truly was convenient to beaches, dining, farmers market and shops.
The duration of our stay was 1.5 weeks, which worked perfectly.
Hosts were quick to respond.
Definitely recommend it!
Great location near the beach, small but well designed layout for the studio. Loved my stay!
There were some minor inconveniences such as no soap/shampoo provided and dirty dishes when we arrived. Expect a bit more considering the cleaning fee they charge.
With no vehicle, we loved the location. Weâre able to walk to the windansea beach several times daily, and to the La Jolla cove, Sunday farmers market and even pick up groceries at near by Vons market. Although a small space, we had everything we needed. I prepared a salmon dinner for our son and adult grandchildren who came to visit us.
My husband and I stayed here for a week while visiting family in San Diego. The property was comfortable and clean, and we liked having a private little patio as well. Good, fast internet â we both worked remotely and were able to be on zoom calls at the same time with no issue. It did tend to get a little stuffy but getting the fan going helped a lot. We had no issues with noise in the alley or from the restaurants nearby.
We arrived to a nice , clean space. We never needed to communicate with the owner since everything we needed was available. However, because we arrived pretty late, it wouldâve been nice to have had bottled water as a complimentary. The grill was clean but the Clamatis vine where the grill is located could use trimming. The mini blind could use a new replacement since the current one has holes and does not block the lighting from the back business street light. Other than that, I would recommend staying here.
This cottage was well-appointed in terms of decorating and thinking of all the little things necessary to have an enjoyable experience. Negatives were the lockbox didn't work (WD-40?) which detained our entry by about 45 minutes, sliding glass door to patio stuck considerably, light bulb missing from lamp nearest the door, toilet paper fixture kept falling down; however, these were minor compared to the location, dog-friendliness and general appearance. Would definitely be interested in staying again and referring others.
This location was great. It is walking distance to the beach, a market, and restaurants. It was Close enough to UCSD for the purpose of our trip. The neighborhood was not the best. The 7-11 sign is very bright all night long. There is a bar whose parking backs up to this property. There were several nights closing time got loud (2am). We did not have the luxury of sleeping in. Plus there is no AC so for comfort we had to leave the windows open. This may be a better location for a vacation but not for early days that require sharp mental focus.
The two of us stayed at Seaglass Hideaway for just over a month in February. It was cozy and comfortable--but it might be a little too cozy for that long of a time :) But the location was absolutely marvelous. Beach, check. Groceries, check. Bars, check. Restaurants, check. Downtown shopping, check. Farmers market, check--all easy walking distance. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return (maybe not quite a whole month though).
The studio is exactly as listed-- small, very clean, with a renovated bathroom. The kitchen accommodates one person at a time. The host is VERY responsive and helpful. However, the unit, which is accessed through an open garage, faces an alley with a bar directly opposite. Between the late-night revelers and a 6am cleaning crew depositing glass bottles in recycling bins, it is loud.
Pros: The location of this small studio is wonderful. Super close to the ocean and walkable into downtown La Jolla and Bird Rock. The washer and dryer were great.
Cons: Beware, this studio sits on a very busy and noisy alley. There was noise 24 hours each day. We had construction workers working on the small stuido next to us during our entire stay which was pretty disruptive. And there is a bar across the alley which is pretty noisy late night/early morning. If you are not there to rest and are ok with noise, you will be good. Also, the stuido is small.
This is an efficient, cozy, relaxing studio space that's 2 blocks from the Windandsea Beach in La Jolla! The Kitchen is VERY small but 100% functional. I cooked every meal in house for the week I was there. They do have a significant sugar ant issue, but the host had another treatment done while I was there and this made a HUGE difference. It is noisy in the were hours of the morning due to restaurant traffic but it eventually dies down. Your neighbors are very close and you can hear showers or conversations. The parking under the car port is very tight! You can't have 2 cars there and get your stuff in and out and get inside the front door. Very clean and comfortable bed!
Cute and very tiny studio apartment. We had a fabulous time and loved being a few blocks from a non-touristy beach. Itâs very small, but mostly a good design and pretty efficient with the space. Bathroom and kitchen are super small, but they worked for us! Would be very tough to make this place work with a child or more than two people. (It really is THAT small. Feels like some European flats.)
Host was very nice the little we communicated. Provided tons of local recommendations.
Bed was comfortable, everything seemed very clean.
A couple beach chairs and towels provided were useful. Laundry was super convenient in a shared carport around the corner.
I do want to share the negatives so people know what theyâre getting in advance, but honestly with the price of real estate in that area, I donât think there could be any possible better options for the price. It served our needs and let us have a fantastic stay in La Jolla for less than the hotels around would charge.
Our big issue was no AC. There was a powerful fan that helped, but we had to have the patio or front door open for it to have any effect. We didnât feel comfortable leaving doors or windows open while we were gone because it wasnât the most private areaâŠunits are all packed in very tight. The back patio is technically private but has other propertiesâ windows (frosted) sort of overlooking it. So when we returned, it was always stiflingly hot and stuffy. We had to leave the fan on all night to sleep comfortably.
For how close it was to other units and a shared driveway, we were surprised it was pretty quiet most of the time. We could hear another unit through the bathroom if we were both using our bathrooms at the same time. The door also doesnât seal well, so a family loading up early one morning in the shared carport was very loud for us trying to sleep in. Ants also got in, but the ammonia/vinegar spray the hosts left for us to use did kill them off for the most part. They were tiny and didnât bite, just annoying. Seemed to be going for something under the bed.
Like I said, still fantastic value for the price, but just know what youâre getting into! My husband was more bothered by the lack of AC that I was, so depending on the person, it might be an issue.
Otherwise, definitely come and enjoy a nice beach vacation in beautiful La Jolla!
Great location, everything you need is around you. The kitchen had everything you needed, bed was comfortable! It did get hot during the day but it cooled down quite quick after opening everything up in the evening and they supplied you with a big fan which was great. Would stay here again!
