We stayed just one night at the cabin but really enjoyed our time. Two couples staying here for a local wedding. Very pleased at the spaciousness of the house, all needs met, easy check in check out and the fireplace was set and ready to be lit.
Only down side was that we were a couple weeks early for fall color.
Really awesome cabin! Very big in the inside with an excellent fireplace and great location!! Had a great time! The last night one of the breakers tripped and I couldnât figure out how to reset it but that was probably more my fault then anything lol!! Overall we had a great stay!
The place was great. It's rustic. It's just like the photos in the listing.
It was clean, but the shower appeared dirty and dingy along the edges. Just stains, but can't give 5 stars, especially since it's not a cheap price.
The owner (and her sister) were the most responsive I've ever encountered. Friendly and efficient.
It's a beautiful log cabin. Not a posh resort. Understanding this, you will like this property very much.
This rustic cabin was great location for a family wedding at the Whiteface Hollow. There were no locations any closer so it was super convenient. The fireplace was beautiful and the history of the cabin makes you appreciate it.
The cabin in the woods was a perfect location to stay for a wedding at the Whiteface Hollow venue. Sandy was easy to get in touch with and left many helpful tips for us to reference while staying in the area. I would highly recommend staying here!
My family was in the area for a wedding! This place was perfectly situated very close to the venue which was perfect for us. My dad and brother even got in some tennis on the court!
My cousin asked me for a quiet remote place for his bachelor party. That is exactly what we got! Not too far from activities in the area. Best part was at night looking at the stars, no lights or anything to hinder the view. We really enjoyed our time there!
Everything was great! My literal only piece of advice whem booking this property is pack toothpaste because it's the one toiletry they didn't already have!
Our stay was a wonderful experience! If you enjoy the peace and quiet of New Hampshire's tranquil settings, then this is the place for you. It has all the needed supplies for cooking, sleeping and bathing. Just bring your food and personal needs and make this your home for the week. I wish I had found this place earlier in life, when I was a avid tennis player. The clay court was in great condition and calling to me every morning, as I sat in the sun room drinking my morning coffee. If you make this place your home base, there are many attractions you can travel to. We enjoyed climbing the many mountains in the area. Tamworth village brings you back in time when life was simpler. With a general store and diner inside. A stage theater that has many performances through out the summer and a farmers market on Saturday. The owners are wonderful people and were available for any questions or needs that we had. This cabin is a great getaway from the busy lives most of us have. I came back very refreshed and rested. It's worth checking out!
Sincerely,
Frank Maglio
Our Dad built this cabin when he was 19 years old. It has been our family retreat since childhood. We love walking in the woods, riding horseback, building pine bough teepees, swimming in mountain streams, hiking the White Mountains, playing tennis and enjoying the natural beauty.
Enjoy the fresh clean air, the purest well water, the scent of pine forests, reconnect with the beauty of nature by hiking in the woods, swimming in fresh water pond, and listening to the sounds of birds and frogs.
In the early 20th century, my great aunt ran the cabin as a ski lodge for folks who took the train from Boston, and loved roughing it by cross-country skiing, staying warm around the fireplace, cooking over a wood stove. Over the years, though amenities have been added, it still has the ambiance of an authentic log cabin.
